How to make a twisted fringe - the perfect finish for Mosaic Crochet

  • here's a little How to video where I show you how to make a twisted fringe. It's a simple technique which can come in handy when working mosaic crochet flat, as it's a great solution for getting rid of all those pesky ends. This way you can really make the best of it, by using these same ends to give a lovely nice finish to your project. I use this technique in some of my mosaic patterns, so I thought it would be nice to show you first hand. For example in my newly released COORIE pattern, which I worked into a scarf, so it's really just the perfect finish! You can also use this technique as a finish for your blankets, like I did for my Casablanca afghan. You'll find both of these, and many more patterns, in my Ravelry store:
    www.ravelry.co...
if you need further assistance with any of my patterns, please join my FB group, where me and my admin team will be happy to help you out!

While twisting the second strand, instead of holding to the first one and making everything more difficult, you could use a clothes peg or other clip to secure it somewhere (on the work itself), to have both hands free.

Hi Rosina, I just wanted to thank you for your incredible tutorials. I am reviewing this one for the second time as I am about to embark upon my first mosaic crochet blanket. I now know how many stitches to add to the starting chain so that I can do this method. I think the finishing border has always intimidated me when I’ve wanted to try mosaic before & have even purchased & saved beautiful patterns. You have supported my entry into mosaic crochet and I thank you!

I love the fresh look of fringe but have shied away because of how FUNKY it gets after just one or two uses. No matter how expensive the yarn, how soft or how course, I couldn't love the fringe the way I've wanted to!! THANK YOU for showing me how. And girl, I have been crocheting for 35 years. And only 2 years older than you 😅 My Yule scarf is ready in time for the holidays and it has fringe!!! I'll tag you in the crochet group so you can see. Its fabulous 😁🧶 #TwistedFringeTinna 😉
