This shape of the vase is called dan ping in Chinese. In practical use, it usually goes with a single twig of plum flowers, cherry blossoms...any kinds of flowers which have interesting curves or twists in their branches.
I loved hearing the "goodmorning!" and "hey Marty" - So nice to hear human interaction again
I agree. I actually got a little teary hearing it. Is that weird?
I was thinking the same thing Kayli Bookman!
Videos like this remind me that humans have always been the same. Flawed, beautiful, loving beings going to market and looking for lovely treasures and a nice conversation with a stranger. :)
The whole time I thought about markets throughout history all over the world where people go and do their food shopping and to buy things others have owned before to make their homes cozy.
@@magiccitymama1620 it's such a beautiful, comforting thought, isn't it?
@@mabelmargaret8295 It is. It makes me realize that we all have more in common than we think, and that's a comforting thought.
@@magiccitymama1620 I truly agree- and I appreciate you for taking time to share your insight and have this awesome little chat!
@@mabelmargaret8295 You're welcome. ☺️
This is the sort of ASMR I like... the peaceful music and the background noise which felt like being in busy places again... I can't remember the last time I heard conversational background noise like this (because of COVID). This was very healing ❤️
I would go broke at that flea market there was so many things I would have bought.. smart to go in with a list
Totally, so much cute stuff! I also would buy a lot , without knowing where to put them :D
Seriously.. the trick to shop at a flea market is going strictly by the list.. or there is no use of going to the flea market if you return broke...
Haha me too!!
Same 😂😍 I wanted so many things I saw))))
I have one of those two-tone ginger beer bottles. You didn’t say how much you paid. Just wondering!
I love listening to all the commotion and people greeting each other. So comforting 💖
I don’t know why but the background noise when you were looking around at the flea market is so peaceful to me
Amber Eslick I felt the same way😊
Like Bon Iver. Very relaxing
I loved it so much
I came here to say this! Lol it was so oddly satisfying too.
I was thinking the same
Best flea market shopping video ever! I love how you didn’t talk through most of the whole thing you just shopped with this relaxing music in the background and it was like being right there with you. And then at the end you shared your haul. Had to go back and watch it again! BRAVO MACENNA!!! 🥰⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This video is so relaxing! I love the chill music in the background with the sound of the voices and the people, very mesmerizing
I wish my flea market was that good, all mine has is old clothes, fake Gucci, and antique stuff that’s 500$
Yup, same 🥺😔
Same here
Same in my hometown, fam.
Lucky I don't even have a flea market 😞
Everyone there sounds so sweet, wishing each other good morning, catching up and telling their stories! Looks like an amazing day!🌞
That shelf at 2:27 with all those pillows gave me lifeeeeee 😍😍
This was soooo soothing to watch. Not many can film like that without making me feel car sick ;) Thank you for bringing me shopping with you. Love all that you do ❤️😍
I have a ton of old bottles that were actually found in the walls of my house! They were drinking on the job back in the day, and just threw the bottles in the walls as they went and covered it up 😂 I wish I knew what to do with them, right now they’re above my cabinets but I want to do something better haha
That's cool!
Chanda Harkins right!?
That's a really hilarious story.
I saw a remodeling show where the husband threw all his alcohol bottle down a whole in the wall turned out they were worth a lot of money
@@lajunecrockett2381 really? I’ve been trying to research these bottles, so far I’ve only found one online and it was worth about $300!!
I love watching people thrift shop because I cannot find a good one in Germany for the life of me
The one on your way to Schmallenberg is reallyyyy gooood!!
@@elivaneck8487 9 hour train away from me hahs
I love it when you take us thrifting and flea markets. Can't wait to see what you do with those treasures you bought.
The little old man that complimented your corduroys ☺️
I found out one day, about 20 years ago, that I am happier when I'm nice to others and I am nice and smile at people in any surcumstances. I am always friendly and now it is really difficult for me to not be nice, which is a good thing at my opinion. This has me helped a lot through some bad events and still helps mw to get through the days when I am really in pain due to the Fibromyalgia. I will never, ever loose that and be a grumpy old lady LOL
Oh, and BTW I loved this video, wish there would be flea markets here like that. And you are not alone, I don't like hagging at all. :D
I feel exactly the same about haggling. Some people haggle just to do it and that is unnecessary! You are so sweet! You got a great bunch of stuff too.
I'm not a haggler either. I feel like they are out there trying to make a living. Great finds!
My thinking as well. If someone is with me to encourage me, maybe, but it's really hard for me. I prefer if the vendor initiates it. Sometimes they do when they're trying to move a piece.
I was like Kingsley throughout this whole trip to the flea market. I literally found myself saying things llike "Wait McCenna", "you're moving too fast!", no no no! turn to the left a little!" Btw, you're a hustler! I love it when you said: "I rarely haggle", when you had just haggled at least twice, lol. No better game than to use honesty to get what you want
Everyone seems so friendly at this flea market! I love hearing all the background busyness and chatting :)
I saw so much I wanted, and so much I actually own. I was yelling at you to get those gorgeous big planters-I can’t wait to see the porch styling video! The silver plate basket is a bread basket, I believe. You take a linen napkin and lay it in the bottom then pull the corners over the rolls, biscuits, etc. You’re so right about being kind to people!!
All the brass!!!!! Those brass bunnies were magical. Oh, and all the cloisonné! So much beautiful stuff!
Your Flea Market shopping videos are my favorite. Idk why, but it’s just so peaceful to me watching you shop around and show all these different vendors. Makes me feel like I’m there shopping with you! Ha ha.
Thank you for this video! It was so soothing and nostalgic. I’ve been away from my family in Canada for more than 9 years now and this is the first video that’s truly made me feel at home while living abroad. I miss going to the weekend flea markets with my grandma.
lol idk how i stumbled across this video but i love seeing you originally find the towel holder you recently rediscovered while in LA, and now it’s found a home on your gorgeous bathroom wall in TX. ❤️ it’s so interesting watching your older videos now bc i see such a change in you, in a very positive way. i think you’ve grown so much on RUclips and your videos now seem to show a much more genuine side of yourself. idk if it’s just getting older and more comfortable or being out of LA and close to your parents but i see such a positive difference! 💕
Vinegar cleans the old bottles really well. 1/2 vinegar with 1/2 water let it sit overnight!!
Thank you so much for showing us this wonderful place. Sooooo many beautiful things. Most of us will never go there so it's nice to have this tour. It frustrates me when magazines say, "Just pop down to the flea market and nab a one-of-a-kind piece." Which is like saying, "Go decorate your home exclusively from Walmart." Because I have never seen this amount of awesome in one place. Only wish my own flea market was this cool! --Kay
I would be in heaven. I wish they had a spot like this in my area. 16:07 warmed my heart!🥰
Oh good god the lamps at 3:33 are absolutely killing me 😭 They're so pretty!! I want one!! Any of them, they're all pretty!!
first of all LOVE these flea market shopping videos!! i miss flea markets, so it's fun to live vicariously. also that moment with the guy giving you too much change almost made me cry, he was so sweet. you're a good person, it's nice to be reminded people like you exist.
The style of your filming at the flea market was incredibly calming! I loved the chatter and sounds of the carts rolling by. Great finds - love those pots!
the background music was such a good choice, felt very serene and early morning vibes, thanks for showing us your trip!
This video was so magical and mystical. Loved the soft music with the amazing footage. the chatter in the background made me feel like I was there! ✨✨✨✨
I saw so many treasures I wish I could purchase for myself. I can’t wait until we can have markets again here in Victoria, Australia. 🤍
You have one of the best outdoor markets in Melbourne. I fell in love with it when I was there a few years ago.
Sandra what outdoor market are you referring to in Melbourne?
Hi, I just found you by accident and I'm thrilled!! If I hear the word"farmhouse" or everything in white one more time, I'm going to start screaming.... Your style is more like how my daughters decorate and it's so refreshing. I am more antique/thrift store/eclectic. BTW, your Mom is very talented. I will be binging your videos!💖
Thank You!!! No More Freakin' Farmhouse!!! I just can't take it for another year. It has run its course. It needed to be said.
Very peaceful just listening to the chatter around while you shopped. And I loveeeee the beads they’re so much more expensive online. Felt like I was shopping myself
Love seeing what's for sale on the west coast. Kensley is the cutest.
This vlog made me so nostalgic. Remembered my good old days at Indian University of PA. I am from Mumbai, India. I often see glimpses of good old American culture in the tiny tiny objects displayed at the Flea Market.
Oh my goodness what beautiful things, my eyes were going everywhere. The chunky wood, the rugs, the clothing...fab x
To wake up at 6 am with such positivity and vibe ooh
u are truly self motivated person, Continue plz u r an eye opener for all of us
I love your thift videos. That wallpaper in the large brass frame would look amazing especially with an ombre paint on top to show off the detail.
The silver plated bowl/dish was popular in the late 1960’s and you would use it by adding a fabric napkin and add bread or rolls. I received one as a wedding gift in 1966! I love all your finds.
What a huge diversity of items I couldn’t go I’m not disciplined enough I’d buy way too much😀 and I’m just same with haggling I just can’t do it you summed it up perfectly
Karen Deakin same!lol
Omigosh, do more of these videos! I could watch 30 min straight of you just walking through a flea market
I found your channel last night and binged your thrift videos!!! You are so talented. I would love to see you make one of those wax warmers out of anything cool! It would be great to know how to do it safely!
Keep up the awesome work!
I started watching you because of your DIY’s and just now hearing you speak shows your integrity. You are honest and compassionate. I know your parents are proud of you for the wonderful person you have become.
That mirror is literally everything!!
I'm rewatching this because it got recommended after I watched your vlog from today. It's so funny to see what you were doing this time last year when now you're building a house!
this kind of videos are the most fun to me. i love thrift shopping.
I absolutely love watching your perspective as you shop. This satisfies so much of my desire to window shop.. and there are no good flea markets in my city. Love your videos :) your creative mind inspires me
Loved the Long Beach Flea Market haul!! Great finds. 😆 Hello Kingsley!!🐾❤️
I find these flea market shopping vids that you do so relaxing!
That’s my approach to buying things too. “Price” is not very relevant if you believe you’re getting enough “value” from an item. I like to live vicariously through your flea market videos. In Toronto, ours are all indoors and mostly just cheap junk that people are reselling (at least, the ones I’ve been to). Keep up the good work!
Have you tried going to Aberfoyle flee market? It's just outside of Guelph Ontario. Not sure how much longer they will be open re: the rise in covid 19 numbers, but usually open til the end of October. It's open on Sundays only. It should reopen again in April through the summer til fall. Hope this helps you!😀
Such an amazing haul! I don’t comment often on RUclips but this video really brought me joy! I started following along early this year and because of you, I’m ready to tackle and diy an amazing china cabinet hutch this week!
What great finds! As soon as I saw those big pots, I thought “I sure hope she gets those for her entry way.” YEAH!!
OMG it was such a blast meeting you at the market!! I'm sorry if I was so excited to meet you acting like a fanatic fan! You are such a wonderful soul! You cleaned up at the market. Such fabulous finds! Can't wait for the porch makeover! Those pots!! You totally scored at the market that day!
Hiii!! It’s was so amazing meeting you as well!!! 🥰🥰 see you next month too I hope!
@@xomacennavlogs Yessss! I'll be there. Thank you so much for the shout out and 🥰🙏🏾 Appreciate you!
Due to medical reasons I haven’t been able to thrift at all so Thank you for giving me a thrift/flea market fix. Love ya and stay safe.
I noticed she stopped and looked at every canister set. I do the same thing. I love them and the more unique they are the more I ❤ them. Plus I come from a family of a lot of women and my mom and all of my aunts had a different set. So bonus if its a set I remember from childhood.
Best flea market treasure hunt video ever. Really enjoyed it!!
I love flea markets. I live in Uzbekistan, we have a huge market in the city of Tashkent, but you can buy everything there, from dishes to homemade shoes and military uniforms, as well as pets, rabbits, and cats, dogs, songbirds, chickens, vintage clothing, old books and magazines. It's always so noisy there and there are a lot of people.
Omg, we had that fireplace in the 70’s! I was probable 10 or so.
Your flea market videos bring me LIFE! This is exactly what I needed today 💕
I live in Australia. I love watching your finds. I think of you and the girls from The Recycled Life when I’m out thrifting. There is one particular Thrift store that always has fantastic pottery pieces and in Australia they are not overly desired so very reasonable. I think you would love the place. Unfortunately in general thrifting is becoming more and more expensive, but the thrill of finding a unique piece for good money is always worth the hunt.
I really like that you left the original audio in at the flea market instead of muting it and just adding music like lots of other youtubers do ☺️
I really enjoyed all the background noise like ‘morning Marty!’ haha
I feel like watching you choose items and talking about what you are looking for that your makeover is going to be at Drew's house! guess I'm gonna have to wait until the video comes out to see if I am right!Hope it is his house, the two of you are so cute!
The flea market vlogs are my absolute favorite! Was looking forward to watching this all day!!
MaCenna, as someone who was raised by someone whose whole livelihood was these type of settings (flea markets, antique collectives, etc), haggling is expected *particularly* in the more casual out door ones. Generally, folks will not buy something to resale unless they can get 50% OR MORE for a thing - so if you're buying something for $40, there's no way they paid more than $20 for it - honestly, more likely to be $5-10. Now, some of that needs to go to pay for costs (purchase price, storage, gas, booth rental, etc) but a lot of that cushion room is explicitly for haggling - and they'll be willing to haggle more the more cushion there is and how quickly they think they can off load something (the longer you have an item, the more the cost goes up, and thus the cushion lessens). Early in the morning on the first day of a sale is a great way to find more, but it'll be at a higher price. Last day of a multiday sale and/or at the very end of the day, you'll be able to haggle even more, particularly on hot days, because that's less they have to schlep home. If you ask about something and it's a little more than you'd be willing to haggle for (so you ask, and it's $40, and it's something you'd only be willing to pay $30 for, and could live with losing out on for the $40), walk around and see other things, and then come back later in the day, and ask to haggle *then*. If it's still there, chances are you'll get a better deal at the later hour.
I hope that helps you some, so that you feel a little better haggling in the future!
You are so fortunate to have a resource like THAT flea market. I am on the opposite side of the country, and though we have them......that's a good one !
I was TOTALLY peanut butter and jealous the entire time watching !
Great find on those 2 flower pots are amazing. I also really appreciate your modesty about haggling, as I feel the same way. In my opinion, if I am willing to spend a certain amount, then I am fine with it. I also understand that these folks are trying to make a living (some DO rake in the $$$) and working that circuit can be tough.
As always, looking forward to what you have in store for us next time.
Be well.
Every time you go to a flea market I drool over the things you film!! Lol would love to be there with you😊
OMG! What fun!! Such a lovely sale! So many beautiful things! Decisions, decisions! I love to rummage through those booths. Save a couple hundred dollars and go and enjoy a splurge without regrets!!
When you were showing what you bought I was like "omg Kinsley is going to drop the vasesssss" haha love your blog, main chanel and work.
I need more vlogs like this. It made me feel so calm and like I was with you!
The booth at 6:04 WOW!!!!! I need all of the things. Awesome video. Thank you :)
Just discovered your channel and i’m loving it so much!! Love your hauls and when you take us along your shopping. I also love when you do the slow takes so we can also see the products that are on display
Thank you so much for doing videos like this! I miss going to flea markets and these videos make me feel like I'm there. Please do more thrift and flea market videos!!!
I found this video super relaxing. Loved how long you showed us around the flea market. 💗
I love videos like these. Thank you for sharing!! I love the beautiful pitcher you bought from the subscribers curated booth!
Omg always wanted to fins someone who i could watch go thrift or flea market shopping. Couldn't find anyone that i could vibe with. And then thiese videos pop up. Great
Plllleeeaassseeeee keep posting these often! Our once a year big antique event got canceled because of COVID and I’m living through you. This was so so nice so please do more of these style videos with the sound of the market playing! I love it
THATS IT, I need to fly to CA bc there are SO many times you scan by some of the things Ive been hunting for for YEARS.
Thank you for taking us around the market with you-it really felt like I was there, and we don't have such places that much in the UK so I loved seeing all the detail, and wondering what you would purchase!
That horizontal mirror was my favorite!
That is one of the best flea markets I've ever seen filmed. I would have left with nothing left in my budget - something for everyone.
OMG OMG OMG... love those terracota pots too !!!!! Wish be there with you Macenna
Love that you give shout out to those you source from as well!
Loved how relaxed this video was. I saw several things I wanted. Living for that orange Pyrex bowl ♥️
I love how you filmed this and how you caught all the sounds and friendly people greeting each other! Something about it made me get emotional -- i guess i just really miss going to places like this! Thank u for sharing
So much fun MaCenna, thanks for taking us along. Love that vase, I was yelling, "buy it!"
The Frankhoma pitcher was made in Sapulpa, OK. The company is no longer in business but their pottery was so nice, I am an Oklahoma girl and live not far from where it was made. I love watching your videos! They both calm and inspire me!
Love this market and wish we had a market like this in Scotland. I would not have any pennies left in my purse 👛
I just came across your channel yesterday & have watched atleast 10 videos since. your content is so inspiring, creative, & upbeat!
My heart all the time i see this video:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Those 2 red chairs at 3:37 OHH my I need those in my life I love them 😍 Thanks for sharing
What an amazing fleamarket! Our flea markets here in southern Wisconsin are crap! But I would expect much better in California, such a variety.
I have never been to a flea market, it would be great if you can do a video on flea markets as in how much cash should we carry, if any, how do you pick the flea markets in the area, what to expect, if you can haggle, etc etc. ♥️♥️♥️
Live the come shopping with me videos at the flea markets!!! So fun to see all the cool items. The small Lysol amber glass...back in the day they made really concentrated versions that you had to mix with water. Like a capful to a gallon. My grandmother used to use it. 😊😊
I LOVE your flea market/antique shopping vlogs!! Sooooo fun and inspiring ☺️ withing a day of watching one I am literally chomping at the bit to visit my local vendors! I love the hunt!
I simply love your sense of art. ❤❤❤
