My Porsche Macan replacement air filters came with black foam on the edges protecting the paper foam. They appear to be a part of the permanent cartridge, but I noticed your cartridge air filters did not have the black protective foam?

@michaelr.ingelsby1975 - I ordered my replacements from www.suncoastparts.com - was $69 for the pair and I did not have a black foam as you stated. Not sure I've seen that - where did you buy from?
