  • My second book: Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers, is now available for pre-order. As I prepared to write this book, I rode over 2,000 miles with a long haul trucker, learning trucker habits and gaining an insider's perspective into life on the road. It was truly illuminating and I definitely gained a lot of respect for the men and women who work hard to provide for their families. This profession is challenging and absolutely essential to our economy and these people who sacrifice time away from their families so they can provide for them deserve our respect.
And yet, during my time investigating, I uncovered a dark side of the road - some truckers who utilize the transience of their job to evade capture. They prey on the vulnerable, and for years these serial killers can be like ghosts to the men and women who try to stop them.
Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers - will forever change how you view the open road. If you’re a true crime enthusiast, this is a must-read. If you’re a trucker - this book is for you. I’ll be dropping links below so you can pre-order it now. Our official release date is May 28, 2024. If you have questions, I’d love to hear them so please, drop them in the comments section below.

I was thrilled to order this. A fiction writer, C. J. Box, wrote a series about a nasty mass murderer who stayed free for a long time because he was a truck driver. Most truck drivers are decent, dedicated people. My Uncle was a Teamster driver. Can't imagine the challenges they face. I have pre-ordered and look forward to your work.

Frank! Thom Hartmann learned about your book's topic and mentioned it on his June 11th show.
Consider connecting with him for an interview.
He knows who you are and he's published everywhere so put more spotlight on the subject with him!
All the Best with your book promotion! Cheers!

Indeed. The truckers who kill are a tiny fraction who give all the others a bad name.

Awesome Frank thanks! I would like to know how the anti-FBI rhetoric of the far-right impacts the morale of the rank and file officers.

I know it would take quite some time to crunch the numbers I believe that with an artificial intelligence algorithm one could find the weight difference with Long haul trucks passing over weigh stations with and without the victim inside. As you know most trucks are weed sometimes a mile before they actually hit the weigh station

    Frank,
The book's been ordered since it first went on pre-order.
Quick question is do you cover any of the psychological &MO similarities or differences of the males and females and teams that perpetrate these crimes?
Is there any data to compare any of the US -based to international cohorts ?

Frank, respectfully, just 1 suggestion. The last line in your Amazon description, "It will forever unsettle how you travel on the road" is unsettling.
How about just leaving both commercial drivers & other citizens forewarned about what's happening in the world of truckers along with providing short tips on things both drivers and other civilians need to look out for that you learned in your research?
There are good people out there making a living on the road.. As with other types of crimes & criminals, awareness and being alert as you venture out into the world is the key...but we don't want to live forever unsettled. Cheers!

No I think that's fine. It's a call to heighten your "situational awareness".
I grew up in NYC area and was a bit StreetWise as a kid, but what really changed me was 2007 as a United Way loaned ambassador for 10 weeks. Working in rural America things present themselves in a very interesting way. I almost found myself naive.
To the point of my wife's consternation I still point out these things as we pass on the street going about our lives.
You don't like situational awareness well there are "Signals" that will allow you to separate out the noise and distortion and keep you safe.

I agree. Awareness and vigilance are the keys to being more secure, and being less anxious. I hope I do this in the book, and I offer some solutions that could make us safer. Mostly, I hope I give a voice to the murdered victims who can no longer speak for themselves.

@@frankfigliuzzi8306 I've had all my law enforcement friends tell me countless horror stories & share lessons about keeping your head on a swivel.
The daily news about domestic terrorism is stressful as it is. Women do want to know all the things to look for, but most don't want to travel in paranoia and be a total basket case. It's the last sentence about being "forever unsettled" that got me since worry, stress & high blood pressure kill people too.
Frank, I only took the time to give feedback since you always ask. I know you have a gazillion tips & stories around personal safety that you can do as shorts, similar to what Glenn does, even though his are longer daily updates.
You're one of my trusted go to sources when bad things happen. Thanks a bunch. Hope this helps.

You should be ashamed of yourself for some of the things you say on MSNBC. It helps no one. 🫤
