    Bro this was by far one of the most satisfying videos to watch…. Just a couple of goofy balls hanging around fixing stuff makes me wish i had friends too

    I love that Jon works on his truck in flip flops like I do. He cracks me up!

    Just a heads up guys, autozone rents the ball joint press in/out kit for a deposit of $100. Ball joints can be swapped with that rented press in under 5 minutes per side. Pro tip for next time.

      ABDdrummer that’s good to know. Definitely will give it a try when mine go out

      Keep It Dirty Off-Road cool deal, that’s always my first stop before starting a big driveway project. The nice part is is actually free, because they return the full deposit to you once you return the tool.

      ABDdrummer funny story was I had to Replace the U joints on my Tacoma before I got the Raptor and I went to autozone to rent/buy the press (which costs a decent amount just in case you don’t return it) and the spicer U Joints. I used my military discount which took in the total amount so when I returned the press and got a full refund, the money I had originally saved actually paid for one of the U joints.

      I rented a torqtorque multiplier from Autozone (for my lower shock bolt). They didn't have one, in stock, so they ordered a brand new one for me to use. Autozone rocks.

    This truck is an inspiration for my truck. The only think I'm not going to do is to shorten my bed, I already have a short be. I will cut out as much as I can to improve the departure angle

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      Most raptor guys don’t shorten the bed. Some will trim to have better angles, but shortening the bed is a huge job and for the type of off-roading the raptor does, it’s not necessary

    Look, whose video I've found again! Always here to help! :) Thank you for your videos!
    I found that my (truck's) upper ball joints are a bit wet. The "expert" at the dealership said they are just "sweating", he didn't feel any bad movement. Is that a thing? Can the ball joints be replaced without replacing the whole upper control arm btw?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад +1

      They can be, but it’s not worth it for the cost. It’s easier and cheaper to replace the whole arm. You have to take the shock out, so it’s a little extra work, but that’s it.
      As for the sweating, I’ve never heard of it. The stock ball joints are sealed so if you see oil, they are not sealed anymore and should be replaced

    • @AGR96
      @AGR96 Год назад +1

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Thank you for your reply! I'll look into that. I'll change the original Foxes as well, as one of them has oil running almost all the way to the bottom. I was told that was just sweating as well. I am unsure if they were ever rebuilt, but not in the last 35k miles for sure, so I'm guessing it's time to take care of them.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад +1

      Yeah. Oil coming off the stock shocks is not normal. Definitely normal from race shocks with a single seal design. But not OEM fox shocks that have a dual seal design. If it’s leaking the shocks needs a rebuild and new seals

    • @suzuki14258
      @suzuki14258 4 года назад

      I’m assuming there moog. The moogs have grease fitting on the lower ball joint and the moog upper control arms are actually thicker. I have moog uppers on mine.
