Do not be dismayed by the sudden change of voice of Arnel for not hitting some higher notes. It is normal for a singer while he is getting old. Compared to the original SP, what we know for him are his voice sounds like an older person same as he can longer hit higher notes. Arnel also was an aging singer but at least he can sing and when in good mood he can sing it in perfect tune.
It’s not mourning Steve Perry. It’s just that the older, real fans continue to enjoy listening to the originals. I don’t listen to cover or tribute bands. I have Journey vinyls, and cds available at my home. I don’t need to pay high prices to see a replacement singer. Good luck.

Obviously you haven't been to a journey concert with Arnel. Obviously these concerts are sold out for a reason. Every single concert that I know of has sold out with Arnel as a front man being at a journey concert is unlike any other concert guys high-fiving guys, not a whole bunch of people getting arrested like other concerts everybody is peaceful and loving being at a journey concert is amazing
I'm confident if you close your eyes and concentrate, you might find the singer enjoyable. Don't let prejudice limit your judgement. It's 2024, and racism is still prevalent.

I am now 60. It is amazing to see Open arms, the song we danced to in our high school prom in 1981 still fill out stadiums in 2024.
