Being basically a walking tank in Bioshock 2 really helped with that. Though I think they tried with some minor things. And we don't have 3, we have Infinite, which had like...no scary scenes at all. Far as I know.
2007, 08, 09 were just amazing years, we got a whole new gen of hardware intensive games from crysis over assassins creed, bioshock, mass effect and cod 4 and to dirt 2.
Despite being a great experience it didn't actually have that big of a budget. The game design and atmosphere really sells it but there's some obvious corner cutting if you pay attention or glitch at certain moments. Aside from Andrew Ryan and final boss Metal-Fontaine there's no other uniquely modeled characters in the game, Langford and Tennebaum both use the same recolored fem-splicer model and pre-boss Atlas is a generic enemy just with a hat added on. You almost never see anyone up close to really notice this so it doesn't ruin the overall experience but it does shatter some immersion on closer inspection. Also watch Boundary Break, it's really good for behind the scenes stuff. They got an episode for this which my comment is heavily based on.
I remember getting scared of Bioshock, then I actually eventually continued it because I liked the story. I was like 10 or some, I couldn't get to hack the bots That changed when I played Bioshock 2, it's easier
3:56 holy shit this is genius level design. I never noticed the plaster splicers were swapping the mannequins and so it gives the impression they were always there
bioshock has some big lessons for video games... do not trust a corpse or a statue, interacting with things in dead ends is a trap (have a weapon ready) and be careful with bees as you do not want to anger the big daddies...
If you choose to be the good guy Bioshock 1: A stranger becomes hero Bioshock 2: A beast with a gentle heart Infinite: Sacrifice for the greater good (and migraine for a couple of hours after done playing)
@@bigdaddybuttmaster69 I can't totally disagree with that. I mean there is development but in a weird, mind breaking way. Doesn't feel like a chapter in bioshock
The 2nd one, I had my shotgun out and when I turned around I literally jumped and screamed out of my chair as I blasted him it truly scared the shit out of me all those years ago🤣
When I turned around in this part it literally made me jump in my chair and let hold of my mouse and keyboard. I than quickly pressed ESC and left the room for a while

You have Bioshock 1 & 2 remastered, but if you want to play them, you should look on internet of what people says, if i remember one crash more than the other
Played this on the Ipad. Because the controls were hard and I'm not a god fps gamer, It was best for me to avoid getting hit as much as possible. So I was anxious for everything like simply opening a door, turning to a corner, or touching things that might trigger something.
I always wanted to play Bioshock and a year ago, was finally gifted the game on Steam by my partner. I just started playing it the past 3 days since I finally have a PC and I'm still terrified wherever I go 😅 I'm still in the Farmers Market and have no idea what's coming next. Once I finish the game, I'd love to watch this compilation at last to relive the terror.
i had a bad pc back then... low resolution... the game was more comedic than creepy because of the graphics and the AI, seeing how the enemies are so dumb.
But this game is very atmospheric and i liked to look how my uncle played it when i was a child, one of the best videogame masterpieces i came across in my lifetime
@@Im_a_tornado_44 but the main point is that i had a BAD pc, graphics were turned downed so much to the point the game looks like a cartoon, hence it was comical rather than creepy lol.

Andrew Ryan is a way better character than Elizabeth. He's better written than she is and has an amazing story. Elizabeths story doesn't even compare to his. The only thing that's cool about her is that she would find salts and ammo for you in fights.

Nice to see this video getting some attention.
I'll have to make more bioshock videos in the future.
Voce e um impostor
It’s brilliant how this game makes you feel the pressure of the ocean. A sense that it can all cave it at any second. Anxiety confirmed
It's even more brilliant how the game can make you forget all of that when it wants to (Arcadia is the best example of this)
Yes yes,Fort Floric its a best level
From the very moment you enter rapture you feel this tension, this pressure that you cannot find in bioshock 2 or 3.
Being basically a walking tank in Bioshock 2 really helped with that. Though I think they tried with some minor things.
