Anw brought me here. We too filmed the drive to our solar eclipse spot. Just released it a couple days ago. This was an amazing video and Im sure it was worth the trip right?

100% worth the 900 mile drive! We picked southern Texas months, possibly years ago, playing the percentages that it was the most likely spot on the path to be clear. Of course, in the days leading up to it the forecast was close to worst case scenario, with predictions of thick clouds, rain, and storms. The morning was probably about 50% cloud cover and thickening, but right before totality the skies opened up and we saw it in almost its entirety. After C4 we departed and we hit heavy rain within minutes.

@@non-influential Sounds like what happened to us. We had cloud cover but they were thin enough to view the solar corona and the orange sky along Oneida Lake in Syracuse. Coolest 3 minutes of my life. Plus the shadow approaching made the clouds look like a supercell thunderstorm was approaching. Plus the ambient lighting in general was dimming in the last 5 minutes and thats when I started freaking out. And I wanted to observe till c4 but after totality the sun was gone and the traffic started 😂
