First significant rain in two months and the wispy spirits of trick or treaters, October 30-31, 2024

This rain ended a two month stretch where it rained once and only for 0.09 inches of rain and spoiled what would have been by far the record over that stretch (September and October).

Forecasted: 2 inches of rain. Actual: Less than 1/10th of an inch of drizzle. And that's all the measurable rain we got during the entire month of September. We wouldn't see the next rain chances until October 30th.

This was the strongest storm in a year of already intense severe weather, this storm may be the strongest one we had here since the tornadoes in June 2017 and roared through packing hurricane-force winds.

Wow! Both blades!
my weather its still no raining
I saw fog 3 times in a week in Albuquerque, usually fog happens 1-2 times per YEAR here
Some moderate to heavy rain is coming to Omaha on Monday 11/18, you should make a Timelapse of it 🌧
Yep, camera is already rolling! I saw pictures of some pretty crazy clouds around here yesterday, so hopefully I captured some of those leading up to this next storm. I'm disappointed the potential snow that was forecasted to follow this system doesn't look like it's going to happen, so we'll have to wait a little longer for the first snow of this winter season here.
🌨️?
@NatureLover-cc2hf 1:35 is the part I’m talking about from your comment on the other video
This storm completely ripped a large branch off of my tree in my front year and threw it into the road. We lost power for a handful of days, but thankfully not much else happened.
At least It isn’t really stormy anymore
2:50 that cloud forming is sick!
1:34 mammatus clouds?
Good observation, although I’m not sure, I don’t think they are technically, but they might be related. I have video of a storm later that week where a shelf cloud pushes that leading layer up and it seems to form into a mammatus/asperitas hybrid as it lifts up over the wave. I’m glad you pointed it out, I’m guessing that they are more or less the same type of clouds but what form they take is determined by variation of the particular atmospheric conditions fueling the storm.

It's that time of year again where fog and mist is more common
for us its summer actually!
What time stamp was the cold front at? Lots of wind shifts but can’t tell which way the can is facing
Camera is facing northeast; looks like the occluded cold front and the low pressure center that was fueling most of this rain system passes on or a little after 8:50.
At last you finally uploaded
you are my favorite blogger❤
hello zomboni! why you wasnt uploading videos that long?
We didn't have rain for two months, so I didn't have much current weather to share! I've been really busy at work too, so I haven't been able to get back to some of the videos from earlier this year that I still need to post either. Good news is that we've finally had a lot of rain to start off November, so I should have some more stuff coming soon.
Bro pls daily video i like your videos
those people legit looked like ghosts and spirits flying through the neighbourhood
Bro can you believe it i was subscribe to your channel from around 923 subs
I know, it's pretty crazy! I did do a number of videos this year, there was a lot of weather and some pretty good storms early this summer which really helped. I haven't posted much lately just because we had 2 months where it rained only once, and that was drizzle. Hopefully we'll have a snowy winter before we get back to thunderstorm season next spring!
Snow days feel rare these days because of global warming and changing climate
It tends to be more all-or-nothing in this part of the country and dependent on ENSO more than anything. We had record rainfall early in the summer, and then had an almost record drought into the fall, during a year in which it switched over from El Niño to La Niña. Not sure what the forecast is for the winter yet, but the last time we had a pattern like this, we ended up with almost record snowfall and big floods in the spring.
Wow
How much inches of rain it said on The Weather Channel
That, They speak Spanish
Wow, nice timelapse 😎
What type of a storm is it squall line or supercell because that doesn’t look like a derecho and I’m glad u didnt get hurt
Huge supercell storm, strongest we’ve had in 7 years here, probably. Didn’t meet the distance requirements to be categorized as a derecho.
did it produce any hail and how heavy was the rain
3:16 you got my life 😮😢
Is this a derecho storm or a squall line?
Neither, actually. Just a very large and strong supercell.
@@non-influentialdid this supercell produce hail or only produced a ef1 tornado (rain wrapped) along with 3 inches of rain
I feel like I've heard this song before.
Probably on another RUclips video, it’s one of the ones you can use free.
oh man, yeah, this bad boy nearly crushed my bedroom, knocked down a huge branch onto the roof. Knocked over a portion of our fence too
Oh no! It seems like there is no shortage on roofers when these things happen, so hopefully your roof got fixed quickly and insurance paid for it! We finally got ours replaced, we might have been the last people on our street to get a new roof following that 2017 storm.
@@non-influential oh yeah, we were lucky enough to have minimal damage on that part!

snow Zomboni Bail Snow?
This video reminded me the time I went camping at Kansas and when I was about to go to sleep out of nowhere it started pouring down raining
Anw brought me here. We too filmed the drive to our solar eclipse spot. Just released it a couple days ago. This was an amazing video and Im sure it was worth the trip right?
100% worth the 900 mile drive! We picked southern Texas months, possibly years ago, playing the percentages that it was the most likely spot on the path to be clear. Of course, in the days leading up to it the forecast was close to worst case scenario, with predictions of thick clouds, rain, and storms. The morning was probably about 50% cloud cover and thickening, but right before totality the skies opened up and we saw it in almost its entirety. After C4 we departed and we hit heavy rain within minutes.
@@non-influential Sounds like what happened to us. We had cloud cover but they were thin enough to view the solar corona and the orange sky along Oneida Lake in Syracuse. Coolest 3 minutes of my life. Plus the shadow approaching made the clouds look like a supercell thunderstorm was approaching. Plus the ambient lighting in general was dimming in the last 5 minutes and thats when I started freaking out. And I wanted to observe till c4 but after totality the sun was gone and the traffic started 😂
Why are you not uploading?
You Had Another September Storm
We had a couple cloudy days but there’s been virtually no rain at all since August. We had less than a tenth of an inch of rain during the whole month of September.
@@non-influential Ohhhh is that because there is a heatwave in your place
It’s been a month since your last upload can you upload like a normal timelapse
Nice timelapse 😎
この日彼らはとても大変だっただろう
Some spots nearby did, they had baseball-sized hail!
Is that an F5 tornado at 1:46
@@HadyAhmedAliIbrahim no tornado with this one, just straight-line winds
Well it looks very severe thunderstorm@@non-influential
I SAID SUNSET THUNDERSTORM EVENING!!!
Wow, relax video ❤❤❤
Storm starts
I live like 15 minutes away kr something from omaha and that day sucked:\ we lost our power. My mom went oit to try to look for food, and she saw a bunch of kids crying because they were hungry. Luckily we got the power back fast, but we went camping the day after anyways lol
At 6:55 the storm changed directions now that's weird
looks like an ef-2TORNADO went through there
the fueling begins with day time heating from the sun
