Me 6 years ago watching these videos while playing on the livingroom Xbox to get achievements. Me now rewatching these videos while playing MCC on my computer desk.
Thank for this video, I had previously spent 15 minutes unsuccessfully trying to do the warthog slide trick to get inside the door before it closes; I like that you first went to the security door unlock station on your way. Thanks to your vide, I got the achievement in my first attempt.My time ended at 9:55, earning me the time achievement called "Hit The Beach" as well. :) A few notes from what I did: I was able to get this achievement even though I reverted back to a 'last checkpoint' once on my way out. It's important to note that I hadn't died before I did it. I reverted when I realized that I wasn't going to survive much longer & decided to revise my route to get a second chance to get around a few problem enemies more efficiently & to save my overshield a bit more. I also took my warthog down into the facility an backed it up to the outside of the security door to easily escape from the sword elite at the end and to zoom past the hunters & camo elites waiting for me on the outside. I also decided to zoom off the platform onto the beach below & picked up the overshield sitting next to the purple crate on the left as an added insurance before heading back up to the platform with the warthog to jump in the pelican. ;) I like your cave trick though, I always forget that it's there. To save time, instead of turning left once you get the warthog, go right. If you go left, you have drive around the entire backside of the island to get to the map room entrance. If you go right, it's not too far away & you can just drive right up the right side to the top of the platform. ;)
My favorite part about this video is how with it sped up you can really hear how the elite noises were just Johnson's voice slowed down in the game haha thanks for the video.
If you're having trouble with the sword elite at the end, bring the warthog down that ramp and park it in front of the door. Get into the turret and face back the way you came in and exit it to get into the building. Then when escaping, get into the turret and turn it around facing the hall where the sword elite is chasing you from and exit it to drop yourself out on the front/side of the hog so you can escape without the sword elite chasing you.
made it all the way through the mission, get outside from the cartographer then got slapped to death just as the pelican came by the sword elite. This comment just saved me I-don't-want-to-know-how-much time
I managed to do the "no jump" achievement too. Somehow, by walking backwards looking at the sword elite, he just didn't move after he missed the first charge and stood at the door. I will try again later seeing if it's just a bug or a good potential exploit ^^
+KorbeK Gaming its probably related to how the marines are still fighting when you come back through with the warthog. Halo CE's graphics engine seems to only render or process whats visible onscreen.

The elite on my game was a far better aim, and not to mention better runner. Right as the pelican was dropping down, he managed to catch up and slash a few times, even with me running forward and non stop jumping. I actually found a simple solution to fix this problem. All you need to do is drive the warthog down the tunnel up until the final descent before the door. (The one that's thinner and causes the warthog to glitch a bit.) When you go to run back, just crouch jump onto the warthog and walk over it. The elite will just stand there.
Good call man. Yeah I never seem to have problems with him as long as I'm jumping for whatever reason, but that's good advice for folks that might be getting run down by him.
@dark heart - The point of this video is the Pacifist achievement. You can't use the rocket launcher to kill the hunters and energy sword elite, because you can't kill enemies at all except by running them over in the hog when going for Pacifist. This isn't designed as a speedrun route, just as a means to get Pacifist mate. :)
I just used the warthog and glitched myself past the door before it locks on you and completed the level in 4 minutes. Got pacifist and the achievement for not jumping in one go. Quick and easy.
Lol yeah. I wanna upload a vid of the entire campaign and cutscenes sped up to 1.25x or 1.5x b/c I think it's great, as long as I don't get some lame copyright strike against me for doing it.
KorbeK Gaming Cheers! Yeah those hunters messed up my warthog if the sword elite didn't get me. I was able to dodge the sword charge completely though by jumping.
Just the Hauppage pocket rocket external/independent one. It's nice for a beginner video maker like myself. No need to route through a PC or anything just plug and play and push a button whenever I wanna start recording. It can't record in 60fps though so I'll probably need to upgrade soon if I start really getting into video making b/c the 30fps capture makes 60fps games look a little off
KorbeK Gaming I didn't even notice, but then again it's always more noticable to the artist who is making it. I have always held my work to higher criticism and people don't even notice the flaws that bother me.

I tried this coop in which i used two controllers, on my account i just stood still and i used a guest account to kick all the alien asses, and i didnt get the achievement lol
I got all the way to the end and a Hunter got in front of me which slowed me down enough to get killed by the sword fuck. So pissed. But I got the par time achievement though.
I got fucking killed right at the end because of that elite with the sword, he lunged at me as i was coming to the top and that got my shields down and stealth elites alerted... hunters then blasted me... fml Just going to do the warthog glitch next time...
Hey man if it helps you don't need to do the warthog fling but you can just park the hog right outside that door so that when you're coming back up you can just jump into the turret, turn it around facing back where the sword elite is chasing you from, then hop out of the turret and you'll get out on the front/side of the hog. The elite can't get past the hog to chase you if you do that. :)
can you do this on co-op with my parter kill everything while I hang back? and could you answer as soon as you can because I'm trying to do this achievement at this very moment
Pacifist achievement is beat the silent cartographer level Without JUMPING shooting gernade throw and melee. NO JUMPING! How did you get the achievement while jumping the whole level ? And also can you get the achievement coop? Cuz I've tried twice now with the 2nd player dying not me player 1 and still DONT have the achievement
Um, no, it's not without jumping. That's the Feet Firmly Planted achievement. Not sure about co-op some people have said it wouldn't unlock for them in co-op but I don't see why that should be the case. Again, Pacifist has nothing to do with jumping though. Good luck!
I got it in my first try but had to close calls! The golden elite stabbed me and took my shields while i was running inside then stabbed me again as i went out ti the pelican! I was scared to gave to restart at the end.
Richard Elliker In CEA on the 360, the achievement was called "Grenadier: Escape the map room in "Silent Cartographer" without firing a shot on Heroic or Legendary". In MCC on the X1, the achievement was tweaked to this: "Pacifist: Halo CE: Finish the Silent Cartographer without shooting, grenades, melee, dying, or restarting". The changes made the achievement both easier & harder; easier in that you could do it on Easy difficulty, but also harder in that you couldn't do anything but spatter enemies with the warthog.

You can just drive warthog into the door before it closes and hence skiping the first part and go straight to the control room and back to pelican.

I'm sure it's been mentioned here many times but you can have the sword guy lunge at you and fall off the ledge oldest trick in the book brother

***** Yeah you can't do it that way. The only way you're allowed to kill enemies is to run over them using the warthog.
