Im a newbie keeper and your vids, dark den and exotic lair are the ones that really influenced and peeked my interest in keeping a Tarantula :3
Same here. Now I have four ts and can't wait to get more
Yep me too, now I have 7 and I definitely see more in the future.
Same with me 🙂👍
im thinking about getting my first t ever because of those 3 aswell!!
Agreed, I'll add Tarantula Haven as a channel to follow as well. I'm arachnophobic but somehow (after a few weeks of watching videos) I find myself having a bunch of slings on the way. I hope this will be a good way to dimish/remove the fear while not becoming a too expensive hobby :D
I'm new to your channel and just wanted to say "thank you." You, Exotics Lair, the Dark Den, Brave Wilderness, and Emzotic have really done a lot to change my perspective on spiders in general and tarantulas especially. I will likely never own one or be brave enough to hold one, but I don't freak out the way that I had when I was much younger when I see a spider in my home. I even dare to get close for a look at ones that I find outside. Instead of being "creepy," I see them as beautiful creatures that deserve respect. I've been able to come a long way with the abundance of information that is now available through channels like yours. Thanks again for doing what you do.
I was gonna write the exact same sentiment - thank you, TKat !
I look forward to watching this after work!! Lunch is almost over but I lov when youtubers do these videos!
That finger snap thingy is getting contagious! 1st Petko, 2nd Thanos, then professor Hulk, then Tony Stark........now Kat!
"This one's a little skittish"... EXTREME CLOSE UP, WAAAAAH Lol. You're great per usual tkat. Keep it up!
Me: I think I got way to many T's. 10's a tad bit too many
*Watches latest Tkat video
Me: You know what I could probably get 10 more.
big mood
Watch Exotic Lair or Dark Den. 150 in a video? No sweat.
I used to have 18 and pretty much everyone I knew refused to come to my house.......
@@mikemullikin8942 hahah ayear later I got 19 now.
Yesss!!! This is the video Ive been looking for!!! I would love to see these beauties!
I love seeing all the species you have! I got my first T, a L. Parahybana sling, on Tuesday. I can't wait to see it grow out of the tiny baby stage 😣💖
Great video! I love seeing how fast people's collections grow in a year.
Lol you said "ope" so many times in this video and every time I thought "hey kat I thought youre in Missouri not Wisconsin" lol. We say "ope" way too often here
THIS IS ALL IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
Just got into the hobby, with the same one u started off with n ur the reason i made the jump into it... Already planning my second one lol... Im deathly afraid of tarantulas but find them so fascinating... Looooooove ur videos Kat n looking forward to more
Well done ☺
Those little European water pots are perfect! Love them. Fun collection tour, Kat. ❤ C. hoggi looks like an interesting species.
Really impressive collection! Hard to get a sense of how many you have just from your individual videos, really cool! I am excited for when I need to rehouse one of my two tarantulas because one of the enclosures would be a perfect size for a C elegans, bringing my collection to a whopping total of three! The other two both being ~1" G rosea and GBB
Awesome collection tour, so many gorgeous species 😍
Love the collection Kat!
Awesome collection Kat. I hope that one Day my collection will be as cool and varied as yours. I have a lot of catching up to do. Just got my first old world's 2 p metallica and 2 s calciatum. Wish me luck thanks for your knowledge I learn loads through your channel thanks again
I love all your tarantulas. a lot of beautiful Ts. one of my favorite is indian ornamental tarantula, Grammostola Pulchra, b. Hamorii they are super duper beautiful. Thank YOU Kat again you truly are amazing! Have wonderful Saturday
Oh my that MM trying to kick hair, I was just here like "Awhhh what a beautiful old guy fella" Absolutely precious
I think it’s just so cool u have robs straw. Legendary. Also I love how u have a lot of Ts from Ruth. It’s where I get almost all my Ts. Makes me connect with the channel even more. I gave my last T I had left from Rob to Ruth to breed I hope she gets to continue the line. This hobby is so amazing hope one day my channel is half as popular as yours. I’ve been keeping Ts for a majority of my life and still learn new stuff all the time. A shot out would be amazing I’m gonna try to upload some better videos soon.
Awesome collection! Hope the breeding projects go well for you. It was nice to see the A.Semanni from the wet moult. She looks great!
I just started collecting Tarantulas i have 4 !
I've learned so much from your videos , so Thank you 🕷
Awesome collection !
Thanks for your videos love watching them.
Awesome taratulas you got there! So many and beautiful as well
Hello, love your channel. What are the containers that you've used for your juveniles? They were featured in the first three T's shown in this video (P. machala, etc.). I know it's an old video but if you read this and remember what type of containers you used I'd really appreciate the info. Thank you!
That’s quite the collection you’ve got there, Kat
where did you get those containers with the blue lids? awesome vid btw
Is there a 12 step program for tarantula keepers? You may need to look into it😀. I enjoy your videos
floydbundy yup, each step is buying a new T
Great video Kat! I’m a little jelly that you have 2 H chilensis! Awesome collection! I wasn’t counting but I’m going to say 75 Tarantulas.
Yayyy, it's done!!

Oh btw. We all love the socks 😉
Your T collection has grown a lot. Great video & beautiful T’s.

Nice collection, thanks for sharing

Beautiful collection and enclosures. You should take out stock in critter keepers lol.
Beautiful collection!!!!!! So what is the total number? I have about 100 give or take, with a fear not order coming this week. I love the hobby. Keep it up and thank you!!!!!
Thanks for the tour Kat!! How long have you had the H. Pulchripes and how is it's temperament? Considering that or an M. Balfouri as my first OW.
very bolty
@@tarantulakat ...I can literally only hear that word in Petko's voice now.. "Bolty, Bolty"...lol.
great collection
Great collection Video
I get my B Verdezi on tuesday!! so excited
I really like watching your videos. I’m thinking about getting me a Trantella
Awesome Kat 👍
Where the heck did you get a poecilotheria vittata? I live in kansaa but would love to get my hands on one or a couple
Great tour
i know this is a older vid and maybe you've answered my question somewhere before but where or what do you use for your enclosures in the vid for small tarantulas
Why does the Brachypelma Verdezi look just like my little Grammostola Pulchra?
My grammostola pulchra molted for the first time while I've had it (I got it when it was half an inch) a week ago, and I am now wondering if I got the wrong species. Beautiful spider, though!
it do be nice too have a alt tarantula keeper finally
Can you tell me a little bit more about the horned tarantulas? I had no idea that this was a thing that happened. Maybe will you make a video on tarantulas with horns? I would love to watch it.
Absolutely beautiful collection Kat and I have learned so much from watching your channel in addition to that my son and I have increased our T's to 16 or 17. With the newest addition being Ephebopus murinus and Pterinopelma Sazimai female and Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens female. I have a couple of feeding videos and clips on my channel if you could kindly look and maybe suggest an app to edit with. Thanks Kat. Take care and I'll see you in your next episode.
Great species ^.^
You got a sling from the breeder I used to go to all the time. I don’t go there anymore because of some stuff that happened but yeah. Small world!
The T in 3:58 has a black patch on her/his abdomen. Is that why you think she will molt soon or is it just a natural colour? My A chalcodes and B. Hamorii have those patches too.
Slings sometimes just have that coloring as they grow. I think it’s in premolt bc it’s abdomen is huge and it’s darkening
I used to keep Tarantulas years ago. I had a healthy collection and then I lost my job. I packed my life into a 15 foot uhaul and my Spiders into a cooler. We travelled from New York to Florida in January, all of them made the trip. Due to having to live with my parents and not being able to control temp or humidity they slowly passed. However after eight years and retirement you inspired me to give the hobby another chance. I went from one to twelve in a month , I only got one …..this week….I only paid 40 for shipping ….you know how it goes. Thanks you 😜
Hi T Kat, got a question for you 1.What is the difference between “old world vs new world “? Also, what is a “wet molt” Thnx!! Love you and your channel!!
Old world refers to tarantula species from all continents except the americas, I think. New worlds are specifically native to the Americas.
And I believe a wet molt is when the new exoskeleton does not close properly before the old one comes off, and the spider basically hemorrhages because of the way their circulatory system works. While we have blood that is confined to veins and arteries, critters like spiders have haemolymph which floats freely in their body. So if the exoskeleton is damaged, they essentially bleed out. I didn’t know a spider could have a wet molt and survive, so I learned something new from this video 😊😊
Love from the Philippines!
I'm from the Philippines too^^
I'm new to the channel and so I'm sure she's said it before but doesn anyone know where she gets her containers? I would love to get some for my babies :)
you should send the straw back to Rob now hes active again haha
Dang! You have a small fortune in critter keepers!
Very cool!!!
I would love to have more tarantulas. Right now, I only have one because I am the only person in my family of three that isnt scared of them. We do have a lot of reptiles. Tarantulas are just so stunning. I love learning more about them.
Where did you get the enclosures?
Hi! I’m actually really scared of spiders and i have a lot of questions, it would be great if you could answer me...
- what do you do if one escapes?
- how/why did you start
- why do you keep them in separate enclosures?
- (this one isn’t really about their care) do you know any tricks to get over this phobia?
tarantulas will cannibalize each other, even breeding/bred pairs.
I love your spiders they are nice looking and you are really nice
How do u sleep at night😂😂 but they are all stunning xxxx
hi where u get cube enclosure
By the way kudos on ur channel 😁
You have so many curly hairs I love curly hairs
Tarantula kat how are you
Great video
lol you can always just do a vid on your A Geniculata so it doesn't feel left out xP
i have those same ball display cases for my guys too
Take a shot every time Kat said, “Grown so much!”
I take it a sling is a spiderling ?? . There's some lovely spiders in your vids :)
I'm so jealous of your E. campestratus. Gorgeous girl
that's a awesome kicking badmaash spider
Oh no my notification bell is broken i'm late!
2020 edition this April? Please =)
I'm not even a "bug person" at all. I watch because it's interesting learning about things I find horrifying in hopes I won't DIE Everytime a tiny one gets near me but.. even I know, to get shots of spiders you don't pick up the container, you put the camera down to it. Even if you have to lay on the floor to get the shot or stand on your head. (This is coming from a photographer by hobby) You'll get a good shot if your patient and you don't move the actual enclosure. For the extra flighty ones, set up a motion sensor camera or wait until they're feeding. Put them into an empty container for the shot if you really need or want a good shot of them. But for the videos, don't move the enclosure. Also, another tip, go a little slower. I barely found the spider before you moved the camera. I had to rewind and pause a few times. That is, if your truly wanting to show off your collection. This isn't coming from a place of malice at all! So pls don't take it as such, it's just tips from a photographer. I had nothing to say about your expertise (tarantulas) because I have no idea about keeping them but I do know photography (somewhat 😉) I would love for you to check out some of my work, my IG is @jlmaynard2008 I'm basically a cat photographer. I've got 15. Yes, 15 💕 One is my very beloved angel baby Molly. I miss her beyond words. But the rest are here in the physical. Wilbur, Nallah, Daisy, Willow, Carbon, Seven, Mooshie, Sky, Roo, Nova, and 4 Manx breeds (tailless) Teddy, Dora, Violet and Gizzy. They all have hashtags but they're all there on my feed 💙 If you love cats, I'd love to have you as my Instafam 😘
That is a bigg collection i tried to count all of them but i lost me in half of the video ahahah i cant chose one favorite they are all awesome but aphonopelma chalcodes is on my wish list for sure they are almost Impossible to get here in europe and by the way that small cork wather dishes that someone offered you are soo cool great video keep going cheers from Portugal
I actually went on a mini rant about how ungrateful some of us are about our awesome native species, and how people in other parts of the world wish they had access to them as we do xD
But I deleted it bc the vid was getting way too long and we got off topic hahaha 💕
@@tarantulakat sorry for the late answer you guys are soo lucky america have beautifull native tarantulas species i wish people are aware of their importance on the ecosystem and their not a threat to people i think new generations start realising how important are all animals but i think our lovely critters gonna be fine they have plenty of territory america is soo biggg i really wana to visit all the yucatan peninsula and watch them on natural habitat thanks for the answer keep going p,s later i send you some pictures of my big female pulchra to your facebook youtube page since i cant atche them on youtube comments
Lol. Love this video
is that an nes i can see under the tv :)
Weird, my LP has moulted twice in a year from about that size, she's currently 6cm from 2.5cm when i got her
First person to comment how many tarantulas I have correctly gets a shout out next vid xd
EDIT: FORGOT TO SHOW MY A GENICULATA dammit >.
66 +/- 1, including 35 slings. You got me confused a bit with the A. seemannis, hence the +/- 1. xD
@@spiderseb I have to count but seems legit xD
@@tarantulakat I used a counter app and waited for you to drop the species names, which you did on a fairly consistent basis, even if you had multiple of one species. xD
@@spiderseb ok you win bc I forgot to show my A geniculata oops
Tarantula Kat I believe 66
Does anyone have advice on keeping a tarantula with cats? I have cats but no spider and want to know if it would work out. Thank you all!
You have alot of beautiful T's Kat!!! I love them all so much!!! Tyfs God bless you
hello kat my husband and i watch you everyday ,we have question where do you buy tarantula in america?

Moment of scilence for the forgotten A.geniculata

I want an apophelma chalcodes as my first can't wait :D i never thought I would want to have Ts but you guys make me want to start lol
Is the mature male pumpkin patch a large form?
