    I LOVE how your painting technique makes the Exhaust look "Heavy" and made of metal... These techniques can easily be used on other things where "Heat" is a major or constant factor.
    Again VERY NICE Martin! I'm a HUGE FAN! :D

    Beautiful effect. The mesh makes it more complicated.
    For the flaky rust effect on exposed mufflers, like a Pz. IV or M41 Waler Bulldog, I like to add baking soda to the base coat and then dry-brush with a lighter tone to pick up the rough baking soda texture.
    Cheers!

    Yeah!!! Friday - Video Time. Gotta love Life Colour Rust paints - wouldn't use any other - highly recommended. Looks great how the tank base colour added to the exhaust ties it all together - nice touch. Do you ever use rust pigments?

    • @NightShiftScaleModels
      @NightShiftScaleModels  5 лет назад

      Only when I add them to my enamel rust paints. And I only do that when I need to add more texture to the paint or when I'm afraid the paint would dry to a satin or glossy finish.

    Okay, so this is what a real artist looks like weathering models. Beautiful work -- especially the "flatness" of the finishes. Is there any, any chance you would consider doing a proper metallic paint job on , say, a Eduard Mig? Thank you for your excellent (and well produced) videos!

    More exhaust videos definitely! It always seemed to me, that exhaust rust tends to look a lot different from vehicle to vehicle and you can easily mess them up with way to much rust, way to smooth looking rust, way to rough tust through extremely thick application of pigments or rust used way to sparingly .

    • @NightShiftScaleModels
      @NightShiftScaleModels  5 лет назад

      It's often a matter of personal style, but the basic way to a nice looking exhaust is if it looks different than your regular everyday rust. Reference pictures are always a great help and I even use photos of regular car exhausts as inspiration.
