Another thing that would have helped this game is more unique magic. Elden ring has magic so unique you can tell the orgin by looking at it and what effects it might have. Skyrim magic system was super versatile and had a spell for most encounters without completely breaking the game in most cases. IOA magic feels as bland as the story, and the lack of unique spells leaves you wanting to play a game with better magic system
What are you talking about dude I found the magic pretty unique in this game Skyrim is pretty standard and you're not going to get all the ring like spells because this is not an RPG first it's more of a shooter first with RPG stuff added to it.
2 big reasons that stood out for me. 1: have to link a completely single player game to an account 2: it’s made by EA and I would rather have my eyes popped out with a dull rusty spoon than buy ANYTHING from EA
I realize I'm in the minority but I had an ok time with this game. I saw others comment the same thing but it's like Lichdom Battlemage except dosen't crash every 3 minutes. Usually not a fan of shooting games but this was the first fps I was able to complete, even tho its a shooting game just with magic instead guns. I still can't get over the magic is literally just "Red, Green, Blue".
I gotta say, I'd never heard of this game but it was on game pass so i tried it out. I liked it. Wasn't the most amazing game ever, but it was fun, gameplay loop was good, the fps mixed with magic was a fun idea. And it was polished. But there was something about it that just kept it from being great.
@@CtrlAlexDel Thor Ragnarok is good relative to superhero films, not the overarching spectrum of fantasy in general, it's actually not that special when compared to the best works out there. Idk it's like saying "the best scifi films, like rebel moon"
Creating the highest level of graphical fidelity is really expensive. In order to make things match, you can not just have realistic textures and hair, your also need lifelike animations. All that is so expensive, that the game needs a high pricetag and a massive amount of customers. Anything else, but exceptional sales would be a disappointment, and planning/expecting exceptionalism is not a god plan. From a customer PoV you can get 10 hours of magical pew pew... 1) for 60$ with most modern graphics like Immortals 2) for 20$ in kinda retro but still pretty like Amid Evil So you pay 20 bucks for a game and 40 for prettier graphics. We can assume that Amid Evil did not cost one third of 85 million to make. So it needs far fewer sales to be sustainable. The lesson learned by publishers from Immortals and other singleplayer games is that they lack monetization and long term engagement and there needs to be more money spent by the players. The lesson learned by players is that thanks to how approachable gamedev is by now, every niche taste has it's share of indies that do it well on a budget. So now we see 70$ base games with content taken away for 130$ preorders while lots of players don't give a shit about AAA any more.
That's the thing that kills me tho, the industry pushed the huge graphical budget. Sure there's the complaints about graphic but majority of gamers WILL default on graphics before gameplay. Bloodbonre is 30fps, who tf has ever cared? Who has ever not recommended the game because of it? I'm loving it man, I'm tired of the consumer delivering bailouts for shxt products.
Honestly it’s not the best game but I will say I’ve had a lot of fun playing it… yes the magic could use a lil reworking especially the blue. I rarely use it. The sigils should have better effects and differences in those effects… a reg sigil shoots the same as a legendary etc etc. a lil more variety would help. But I have enjoyed myself playing it never the less… the story so far has me hooked a lil bit I haven’t made it to end almost there but not yet.
Thanks for making this video, although due to all the flashing RGB lights, I had to watch it with my eyes half-closed due to eye-strain. My right eye is literally tearing up right now lol.
The gameplay loop is ok, but I think one of the main failures of this game is the atrocious writing at points, its like some redditor put in half baked jokes and cringey dialogue
Oh I've got a plenty planned :) including the ones leading to the closures of the development studios. Btw Ascendant studios also almost closed after Immortals.

Yeah, and they could've done a lot more in terms of magic variety and spells' origin but instead they've made them just unpleasant to watch.

Yeah, they even require acc login even if you're playing through Game pass 😑

BLU
This game looks a lot like Lichdom Battlemage. That game also had a lot of performance problems.
True! I'll def check it out for one of the next videos.
@@CtrlAlexDel I wouldn't recommend it. It's a waste of money, but you do you.

“Best fantasy stories comparable to the best marvel movies”, pick one
Something like Thor Ragnarok, why not. It seemed to me, the Immortals aimed to mimic something like that.

Great video
Thanks a lot for watching! I got more coming 😎

Always welcome 😎 and now imagine how it feels to play this for 12 hours of campaign 😂
Lichdom Battlemage was much better
Even the trailers look better to me despite me never playing it 😂

Cringe dialogue and cutscenes you can't skip.
yeah, and that's a bad combination in a video game :D
This, the dialogue is unbearably cringe.
How many why it failed can you make before it just looks like rage bait tbh a single player game can not fail
Oh I've got a plenty planned :) including the ones leading to the closures of the development studios. Btw Ascendant studios also almost closed after Immortals.
Well guess what, it did
It failed because they wasted their money on viewbotters like fextralife instead of improving the game
Yeah, they apparently thought that it just needed more exposure 😂
