I really like this ruleset, it makes it feel a lot more like blitz chess. 9x9 board creates one single local battle, integer komi makes draws possible, and the short 3+1 time control makes the adrenaline rush. I wouldn't be surprised if this format became more and more popular in the future
Because the commenters in the stream did not seem to be sure about the rules: GoQuest has Chinese rules, 7.0 komi, and Fischer time, 3 minutes + 1 second per move (For 9x9 boards).
I think it helps my life and death reading just because it brings up a lot of those positions in every game, and the games are pretty fast, so it means a lot of life and death practice. Beyond corner life and death problems, though, some of the situations where reading would be required on a larger board (ladders, groups living in the middle, etc.) don't come up as much on 9x9 just because there's not as much space for a huge fight to break out. (I'm about 5 kyu on 19x19)
She pulled out the fan and I couldn’t help but think of Sai from Hikaru No Go lol I’m new to Go and there’s not a lot of content on 9x9 it seems 😭. When quarantine ends, I want to find a club to join🙌
I started playing on Goquest a month ago and have to say it's addictive :) But I prefer 13x13 which is more like ''normal'' GO but games are still not so long.
9x9 is easy to get good ranks lol, I’m about 11k in general with 11k ogs 19x19. Without learning anything and analyzing any games, i just played 9x9 for fun and am about 7k at it.
It is a rank. The higher the number, the "less skilled" you are for the kyu rank. But once you go beyond the 1 kyu, you move to 1 Dan, and then you keep on until 9 Dan.

Yeah
I miss when you used to upload frequently on this channel, so I think I'll start rewatching your old videos! ^_^;
This one was short and sweet!

3:19 haha I thought she was cursing at the bot 😂😂
Beats a 3 Dan and finally reached 25 Kyu
Fun video, thanks. Goquest uses 7 Komi & Chinese scoring
Just to make it super clear: komi is 7.0 (not 7.5), so draws are possible.
alwayslookingatself,it’s 6.5
It's funny how she acts like she's in trouble, but then goes on to win anyway.
I was won against a 1-2kyu in 9x9 when i was ddk. And yes that one of my biggest accomplishments in life :D
3:18, I heard "Oh f**k you, f**k you bot!", I thought it had played some winning trick, I was confused XD
Does playing lots of 9x9 affect your reading in 19x19?

What is kyu, exactly?
