Wish I’d seen this video prior to replacing all the hose in my SLSA the other day. The 15 yr old Gates 30R7 in my always hangared plane was in great shape but in the wing root area it was losing its flexibility. Cabin area didn’t need replacement at all but access was easy so I did anyway.
Great review. Found that the Gates LP (low pressure) 27314 is SAE 30R14T1. This is good for carbureted engines and has the low fuel permeability. Available at auto parts stores and Amazon. I will use it to replace the current SAE 30R7 that was in my plane.
I've always used Gates Barricade fuel line on my Rotax 912ULS, it's a SAE-R14 hose (for carbureted engines) and is designed for most fuels with or without ethanol. I buy it locally from O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Can I use Fuel Line 9/16" ID NBR Hose Push on Hose 13/16 OD Fuel Injection for Small Engines to replace worn Charcoal Canister & Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid hoses on a car? On a new hose it is written "SAE J30R 10 20Bar B. P. 50 Bar". The original is more stiff & surface like in 1/2 spheres. The new hose is: 2Mpa. Burst Pressure 5Mpa, Handles temperature ranges of -40 to +275 degrees F 2 MPa. 290.07547546 psi. I would appreciate any opinions on this questions. Thank you.
If you're in the auto parts store and the clerk asks the application, always say "off-road vehicle". And for heaven's sake, don't wander in wearing your EAA "I Fly Inverted" T-Shirt.

can sae 100r6 hose be used for fuel?
Very useful! Thanks!
Does the submersible Viton FkM type hoses need to be replaced every few years ?
Another hose to consider is R10 hose for any use that could be submerged in fuel, for example header tanks with in tank automotive style pumps
Very informative. Thanks.

3-wheel off road vehicle :)
I would never buy a hose from a company that was too cheap to properly label their hose.
I always tell them it,s for a off road vehicle.
