Yusuf Estes was born in the mid-west United States 1944 to a religious Christian family. They to Houston, Texas in 1949 where he grew in the Disciples of Christ and was baptized into the church in 1956. Over the years he completed his studies in music and became a music teacher, well known entertainer and businessman and finally a music minister calling people to the Lord with his music and Bible.
During his business career he built up a chain of music stores and even had his own television series called the "Estes Music Jamboree". He and his father owned businesses and worked together in spreading religion and politics, all at the same time. They both served together on the Texas Governor's Conference for Business Leaders during the early 1980's. Sheik Yusuf also owned expensive homes, cars and boats and at one point he even owned airplanes and had become a dealer for Cessna Aircraft. Although he had great wealth, Sheik Yusuf continued to seek the Lord while calling people to Jesus and Christian salvation.
His first encounter with a Muslim occurred in 1991 when his father introduced him to a man from Egypt. When he discovered the man was a Muslim he began immediately trying to convert him to Jesus and join the church. However, the Muslim brought about a new understanding about the world's fastest growing religion and a real awakening to true Islam. While trying to convert the Muslim to Christianity Sheik Yusuf learned an important lesson about life, religion and God Almighty: You do not guide the one you love, but it is only God Almighty Who Guides to His Way, whomever He Wills.
After three months of debates and dialogs with the Egyptian he watched as a Catholic priest friend of his, Father Peter Jacobs, accepted Islam and became a Muslim near Dallas, Texas. Then he, his father, his wife and children all became Muslims.
Since then he has been studying Islam, Arabic language and the Quran while working day and night to present the correct message of Islam both to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. His research has taken him to many religious institutions and scholars around the world, including: Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Turkey, Australia, England, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Trinidad, Tobago, Dutch Antilles, Barbados, India, Qatar and the list goes on.
He has been called upon by the United States Bureau of Prisons to present Islam as Muslim Chaplain to inmates in Federal Institutions all around America until his retirement. He has also served as Muslim Delegate to the United Nations World Peace Summit for Religious Leaders.
He has authored books, established many websites, instituted live web-casting and video conferences while traveling around the world presenting Islam in his simple, yet direct approach to easily understanding what has become to be known as the " most misunderstood religion in the world".
His presentations have helped people around the world to grasp the correct concept of God, Worship, Beliefs and Teachings of Islam. Even born Muslims have said his presentations have been instrumental in helping them personally understand Islam. Millions of others now see the light of truth in Islam through his television programs, DVDs, CDs and internet websites. Many thousands have accepted Islam at his hands since he came to Islam.

I am a christian and have been all my life and it is difficult to ignore this teaching and the those of Dr Zakir which i watch on Peace TV. May God help me cos any decision i make may completely change everything in my life. I pray it brings me peace and not sorrow.

Who is Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him?
من هو محمّد، صل الله عليه واله وسلّم؟
He is the one who defended the rights of all humanity 1400 years ago.
هو الذي دافع عن حقوق كل البشر منذ 1400 عام.
He defended men's, women's and children rights
حفظ حقوق الرجال وحقوق النساء وحقوق الصغار
He commanded and fostered the love between relatives and neighbors
أمر بالحب والود بين الأقارب والجيران
He established a coexistence relationship between Muslims and Non-Muslims
وأسس علاقة تعايش بين المسلمين وغير المسلمين
He organized the relationship between the members of the family putting duties on sons and daughters towards the parents
ونظم العلاقات الأسرية التي تضمن للأب وللأم حقوق كبيرة وعظيمة على أبنائهم
He fought injustice, called for justice, love, unity and cooperation for the good.
منع الظلم ودعا للعدل و المحبة والتكاتف والتعاون للخير
He called for helping the needy, visiting the patients, love and exchanging advises between people.
دعا لمساعدة المحتاج وزيارة المريض والمحبة والتناصح بين الناس
He prohibited (by orders from God) bad manners such as stealing, lying, torturing and murdering.
منع على المسلمين المعاملات السيئة مثل السرقة والغش والقتل والظلم
He is the one who changed our lives and manners to be better.
إنه من غير حياتنا وطباعنا السيئة إلى حسنة
A Muslim doesn't steal
المسلم .. لا يسرق
A Muslim doesn't lie
المسلم لا يكذب
A Muslim doesn't drink alcohol.
المسلم لا يشرب الخمر
A Muslim doesn't commit adultery
المسلم لا يزنى
A Muslim doesn't cheat
المسلم لا يغش
A Muslim doesn't kill innocent people
المسلم لا يقتل الأبرياء
A Muslim doesn't harm his neighbors
المسلم لا يؤذي جارة
A Muslim obeys his parents and helps them
المسلم يبر بوالديه و يخدمهما
A Muslim is kind to young and elderly people, to women and to weak people.
المسلم يعطف على الصغار وعلى النساء وعلى الضعفاء وكبار السن
A Muslim doesn't torture humans or even animals, and does not harm trees
المسلم لا يعذب البشر ولا الحيوانات ولا يؤذي الأشجار
A Muslim loves his wife and takes care of his children and show mercy towards them until the last day of his life.
المسلم يرحم ويحب زوجته ويهتم و يعطف عل أبناءه حتى آخر يوم من عمره
A Muslim's relationship towards his children never stops even when they become adults
المسلم لا تنتهي علاقته بأولاده بعد سن الرشد أبدا
He is Muhammad (PBUH)
إنه محمد رسول الله صل الله عليه واله وسلم

Every Muslim loves Muhammad (peace be upon him) more than himself and more than everything in his life.
كل مسلم يحب محمد صل الله عليه واله وسلم أكثر من كل شئ
Before judging a Muslim be fair and:
قبل أن تحكم علي أي مسلم كن محايد:
1-Listen to this person, and watch his doings.
1- أسمع منه هو شخصياً ، أستمع الي أفكاره ومعتقداته ولاحظ أفعله.
2-Compare his ideas and teachings with what is Islam and Prophet Mohammad PBUH ordered.
2-قم بمقارنة أفكاره ومعتقداته بما دعا له الإسلام.
3-If you think that his thoughts are typical to that of Islam and Prophet
Mohammad PBUH, and then compare them with his doings; is he applying
these teachings?
3- إذا تطابقت أفكاره ومعتقداته مع ما دعا له الإسلام فأنظر إلي أفعاله، هل هي متطابقة مع أفكاره
4-If
he is applying these teachings and sayings, so for sure represents
Islam, if not then he calls himself a Muslim but doesn't represent
Islam.
4- إذا كانت أفعاله تطابق أفكاره ومعتقداته فهو يمثل الإسلام، إذا كانت تتناقض فهو يدعي أنه مسلم ولكن لا يمثل الإسلام

never really cared about islam although im a muslim... ever since i listen to maher zain's songs, it inspired me and i discovered more in youtube, i found yusuf estes. his words are amazing. however, i have a very very important exam that is coming up in 12 days, is it okay for me to concentrate on my exams first?i wanna know more about islam. can i do it after exams? i plan to start wearing the hijab after exams too. but i already started praying 5 times a day now :)

I watched a documentary on the History Channel and it said there are books that never made it in to the final version of the Bible and in one of those books(I think the Gospel of Barnabus) it says that there were people who saw Jesus(pbuh) standing near the cross but someone else was crucified that day. That was eerie to hear that on a documentary that was not about Islam!
I respect Yusuf Estate for his knowledge about Islam and the other religions.

I don't understand much about Islam, but I do have some questions: there are lots of Islamic groups out there nowadays using violence to acheive their goals such as a the ISIS and Al-Qaeda, however, as Yusuf Estes said, the Muslims need to have peace in their heart, so does that mean that the ISIS and Al-Qaeda's deeds and ideology is against Islam? Does the Kuran teaches Muslims to live in peace with others(including atheists, Jews, Christians) or to use violence to get rid of them? Do Muslims respect other people's believe or they want to change nations into Islamic states and apply Islamic laws upon everyone?

Anyone asking about the name of the nasheed , it is called "ya hamila a lquran"
its important to be able to read Arabic because the Qur'an could be manipulated in the english translation but if it were in Arabic and you read it often then no one can lead you astray.

I converted to Islam, but one thing, it does say God rested in the very beginning of Genesis, chapter 2. One my few question as a new convert from Christianity. Could someone please explain this to me?
