That is a particularly efficient chipper, there is something deeply satisfying chipping, haven’t done it for years, the video brought back memories of times passed.
Oh my, I need a. Beast like that! It sure fasten things up when I have to chip the remains after knotting 40 willows. Now I have a chipper with a 6.5 hp briggs and Stratton engine, but when the blades are sharp it eats 8 cm of wood if its necessary. Not bad!
I need a machine like that. I have to force feed mine after about an hour on a sharp blade, and in material like that, I'd spend more time unclogging the discharge chute than actually getting anything accomplished. Great equipment makes a monumental difference on the job.
This is a Jansen GTS 1500e machine which this guy has improved a little with slightly larger engine (a Twin cylinder 24hp petrol loncin as opposed to the standard single cylinder petrol 15hp Loncin) Top fuel tank and a modification to the chute.I think Jansen need to take a leaf out of his book as he has made it better than it was .I mean the little machine is very good anyway as standard as I have one but definitely improved here .Well done mroki26
He put a 24 hp v twin on it. They come with a 15hp single cylinder motor. It does OK in stock form. But if you get to its max diameter capacity with harder wood it isn't so great. But. With a 24hp vtwin, well it does what he is doing in the video
Why do you use such a small chipper for your business? Was the choice financial or practical? Just curious as most tree surgeons use either a tow behind or a tracked chipper.
so sad to see all of these gorgeous tree limbs destroyed like this and that poor limb at 8:50 poor baby, so would have rescued all. Its so pretty, you got to feel sad for it. It did not deserve that.

This is a drum type chipper. It's a Jansen GTS-1500e that is modified. The original 15hp engine is exchanged for a Loncin LF690F 24hp engine. The hopper is enlarged. The counter knife is set to 0.5mm distance from the knives on the drum.
Well there is a bit more involved than just engine blades and tank. You want put bigger blades without machining the rotor. The other thing is you have to change bearings for way bigger ones otherwise is a waste of time
