    I simply use the cable tie (brake lever) and use it to brake the front wheel

    Lifting the bike is the same technic as to set up a heavy bike on the central stand. Some years ago i made a bet with a huge bodybuilder to set my Varadero on the central stand... He could not! Your technic is the correct one but needs few improvements regarding to the head position and the angles of your feet. I like this video. Offers plenty of help for people that do first steps off road. My suggestion is to have some tests on sand environment. There, the damage risk is low but you have no tolerance and no help at the angle of lifting. You lift it at a perfect 90 degrees! Enjoy your rides mate. Nice work!

      Thanks a lot for your comments and suggestions. Next week sand it's comming, plenty of videos in that enviroment....hopefully I can reply with another video in the sand soon. Greetings !

    In the case as you indicated, in a planned drop of your motorcycle, it is desirable to tie the front brake with a dedicated belt, so that when lifting the motorcycle will not run away from you because the front wheel rotates and is not gripped like the rear one which is integrated into the gear.

    Carry ratchet straps and bungee cords with you. I also have a portable winch I carry with me and am making a removable mount. I ride alone and when you drop the bike in mud or sand lifting the bike gets more difficult.

    Hi
    I can confirm the demage on the exhaust, because it happens to me in real life.
    The Transalp felt to the right downhill on asphalt.
    Fortunetly I had installed the upper crashbars from Hepco & Becker.
    Damages:
    1. Exhaust scrachted
    2. Exhaust cover scratched
    3. Oem Handguards scratched and screw cracked from plastic thread.
    The lift was easier than I thought, considerinf the bike was laying with the front downhill.
    I could fix the hanguards again, but I plan to replace them.
    Two months ago I‘ve mounted the givi lugagge racks and I‘m wondering if they will act as additional crash guard for the back of the bike.
    I like the look of them even if I don‘t attach my adventure cases, I leave the lugagge rack all the time on.
    They feel quite stable.
    Best
    Marco

      Thank you so much for sharing. I can highly recommend the Hepco&Becker protections, I have very good experiece with them. Acerbis Handguards also good quality. Still if you crash harder on any part the protections will eventually bent you need to straight them up anyway. greetings!

    It isn't the weight of the Talp off road, it's the snatchy throttle and high strung engine that makes it next to worthless on trails.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  5 месяцев назад +1

      You should watch the next videos, perhaps you'll reconsider. I find it easy to handle and I am a total beginner off-road. How often have you ride it off-road?

    • @jonwoodworker
      @jonwoodworker 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@IdealBike I did reconsider and sold it to get an 800DE. The Talp just isn't built to Adventure ride, it's a touring bike at best and Honda has better options for that. I ride 80% dirt and use an ADV bike as an ADV bike. I waited two years to get a Talp and Instantly regretted it and couldn't even adjust the suspension for my 220lb frame. I got the 800DE and a few clicks later, I was blasting dirt trails. Ride the same dirt trails you ride with the Talp then get on an 800DE and you will understand.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  5 месяцев назад +2

      @jonwoodworker Thanks for sharing. So far I'm good but you never know what to expect from the future. Still training off-road, improve my riding skill and see what happens. After test riding the DE 800 on some very light gravel I just got disappointed about how it's weight feels like. I usually ride my Transalp off-road with very less fuel and it has around 200 Kg... That beats most adventure bikes on the weight distribution and feel. Of course no bike it's perfect but just for now feels perfect for me. Let's see later, greetings and enjoy your trails 👌

    I own this bike , unless you are fit , and realistically under 60 years old this bike is too heavy to lift in real world situations .
    Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional 😊

      @@IdealBike No agree, also I think there is an adventure company called green chillie that sells ratchet bike lifter gizmos that you can carry in a bag on bike ,I might try and get one .
