Funny thing is - on our trip to PR Rincon was the dive shop we used along with a shore dive.
Rincon Dive Center is such a great location and the staff is great - easy choice!
@@JenThereDoneThat When we went it was just the DM, my wife and I and it was our first and only walk-in-to-the-ocean dive... Looks like the visibility that day was kinda limited...
I agree. The shallower area of this reef is much nicer and rich than the rest of the reef. Great snorkeling/diving site right off the shore. The only place where I 've seen more Elkhorn corals is in Looe Key Reef in the Florida Keys, but never as close to shore as in Steps Beach. The empanadas at the beach shack are pretty good too!

Hey @JenThereDoneThat we just snorkeled at Shacks on Monday! It was choppy but we were able to see some awesome coral!

There is a group of divers here In Puerto Rico trying to recover Coral life. They Sow a small kind of coral to recover it by time.
Yes, there are several dive spots in the coral restoration nurseries around the island. So cool!
