      Yes, absolutely beautiful. Speaking of past...Lemmer's mood reminds me of my own childhood (1980s-90s) in Great Neck, NY Synagogues where the cantors were getting quite old already but still were cantors that echoed the cantors from the 1920s. I remember observing and wondering at the old women who would cry to the cantor's singing etc. Now, I feel like one of those old women! There is something very historical, nostalgic, real, just so beautiful and full of heart and full of Jewish meaning in this video.

      I did too !! I am Catholic but I was reading about a singer that was training to be a cantor in his youth. So I searched & came upon this video. It is truly beautiful ! The range of his voice & the control is just amazing. Even if you don't understand the words, his voice tells the story. Just Beautiful !

    It's been a rough month and today I cried (again, just completely overwhelmed) and I needed G-d so very much.
    Tonight as I lay here in the dark, listening to some favorite music, it suddenly came to me to listen to music for Him. It's amazing 💗
    I ponder - quite often - how He brought our entire reality about by His mere breath, spoken word. 😳😳😳😳💗
    Btw, I am not Jewish per se but I am in spirit in many ways. . .G-d has been leading me in this journey for a very long time.

    In Allentown, Pennsylvania, we had the great pleasure of having Cantor Lemmer as Scholar-in-Residence last month (Feb. 2015) at our synagague (Sons of Israel). He was just wonderful. Thanks to RUclips and our Hungarian friend, people all over the world can have their spirits lifted by the khazzan's heavenly prayer.

      +Doris Jaffe I was fortunate to move to Allentown during his tenure here. He's an excellent rabbi, a scholar and a mentsh. So glad you posted your comment, because it brought me back to this video. Since my dear, wonderful mother passed away 6 weeks ago, I've been off RUclips. But listening to cantorial singing is permitted even under the strictest limits of mourning. So thank you.

    It's not bad that he is barely opening his mouth, it actually shows a great technique of holding a "mask". His larynx is down, but his mouth is kept at the same position. Only if it's very necessarily on very high notes, he opens his mouth wider to create a special sub-sound. I am currently learning academic vocal, so ye I kinda know this stuff. And I talked to Yaakov personally, he is a very good guy and a great singer.

    It is a song asking Adonai to Remember us and inscribe us in the book of life for another year. The key passage is "Remember us unto life, Sovereign who delights in life, and inscribe us in the Book of Life, for Your sake, O God of life.
    Zocreinu, Zocreinu L'Chaim melech hafeitz V'Chaim.
    This particular prayer is said only during the Yamim Noraim, the ten Days of Awe that begin with Rosh Hashanah and culminate with Yom Kippur.

    It is a plea to G-d, translated thus;
    "Remember us for life, O King Who seeks to give life, and inscribe us in the Book of Life, for Your sake, O Living G-d ... this prayer is said only during the 10 days form Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur, the first ten days of the Jewish year.
    The Jewish people seek only life. (As opposed to those who seek death, and for which reason there should only be One State of Israel, no second state that teaches its children the cult of death)
