Once in a lifetime, a voice comes forth with beauty and passion divinely delivered. Cantor Yaakov Lemmer, you surpass all mortal voices to a higher level .....G-d surely delights in hearing the blessing he has given you, coming back to him.
I'm not Jewish, but I love this music. In this you can hear the whole history of the Jewish people, and this is what imparts an extra-musical dimension, for me. It is not just an individual, who is singing here, but as representative of a people.

Yanky Lemmer, in my opion is the greatest chazzan alive. Not just the timber of his voice and its control, but he has perfect pitch. Other great chazanim, like Helfgot and Mizrachi, although powerful, have (albeit barely perceptible) not quite perfect pitch.
He's elegant and tasteful without being precious. His INTONATION is always dead-on. The voice is beautiful and well-produced, without the shraying and screaming of Helfgot or Mizrahi.
What a magnificent voice !!! I am surprised that the concert take a place in Poland . Almost all of us left the country long time ago ,because of the anti - Jewish climate there . Regards from Montreal

Anti-semitism is one of the great evils of our time - it has made a terrible resurgence in recent years. One would have hoped that after the horrors of the Holocaust people would have outgrown such petty hatred. @@rationalistssj6540 , even though I've never heard Richard Tucker in person, because he was way before my time....I'm fairly certain yes, he does have the bigger voice. Not very many tenors have a voice bigger than his, period LoL. For the people who have heard him sing at the Metropolitan, they will tell you he is a dramatic tenor through and through 🙂
@@tristanhnl Hi. Yes, even Corelli respected his capabilities, and they shared the stage at the Met. In any event, I think Yanky Lemmer is criminally underrated. In many respects, he's better than Helfgott as a Chazzan, certainly easier on the ears, and he has great control.
yanky, you are liquid gold, melts my heart. you should be more famous then your brother shulem. it bothers me he became more famous then you and you are way better then him and probably got him where he is. anyway you did good to stay to your roots. and stayed frum and didnt go to the wrong places.
I attended a chazzanut weekend in Jerusalem where both Lemmber brothers sang in a concert and then on Shabbas. Yanky even sang this Shema during Musaf. It was the first time they sang together. Both are great in the different timbre of their voices, separately and as a duet. Shulem uses social media more than his older brother, but both sing chazzanus and respectful secular music. In Israel, Shulem labeled himself as a singer and chazzan.

Sounds like those old classic recordings of cantors from the past......BEAUTIFUL! Love the Lemmer bros.........

Exquisite performance! Bravo!
I just love those Krakow concerts, I listen to them over and over again!
Lemmer is a master of the 'ticklen' the quavering and plaintive vocal expertise that Heaven hears and that could make an atheist melt.
Well said 👏
I LOVE The New York Cantors. Thankyou for the Music. The Harmony is Awesome.
Excellent and his little brother Shulem Lemmer, gifted on a level to match The Late Great Moishe Oysher and Yosselle Rosenblatt!
