As a person who grew up a Christian mostly for the melodies, stained glass & statues, I find my new life with a Jewish family much more satisfying. Jewish musical tradition allows the cantor and the assembly the strength to take the music to a much higher level. When done fervently, the tones reach heaven, like the Shofar. 💐This video shows us exactly that. Thank you for posting.

And with that scar on my heart aching and with tears in my eyes, I next hear myself speaking to God, asking to be forgiven not only by God but by any human being I have transgressed against, even if it was unconscious and unintentional.
This might sound odd- but on Yom Kippur during Yitzka- I feel connected to family that has passed. Perhaps it’s the fasting and the meaning of the day- but for a moment? Maybe I’m crazy
