Illustrator of the #HiddenBooksGame here - it was so lovely watching this and seeing you figure out all the clues! So glad you enjoyed it, it's always so much fun to illustrate and seeing this makes it doubly worth it! 😊📚
I know this isn’t a video where he is actually reviewing book but since he’s excited I’m going to say this. I love seeing him so excited about books and get so much joy out of books. And how excited he is in every video to tell us about books. I will listen attentively to everyone that’s excited for telling me something they like so much, and that thing gives them so much joy and they smile all the time. Firstly that thing has to be amazing to give you so much joy which causes you to smile so much because You deserve the smile on your face and second I have to listen to you, it gives me so so much joy to see people find happiness and joy in small things in life and live and not just survive
I was literally screaming the secret history and ace of spades and it ends with us and i was like okay how is Jack not getting these? Especially, it ends with us🤣🤣
i was so proud of myself for guessing the bookseller of kabul. i never would’ve got it if it wasn’t for the åsne name tag & that i’ve just recent read another of her books
The apple clue made me so happy because I LOVE THAT BOOK SO MUCH- the appeal is a cosy mystery told through emails around an amateur dramatic society. You read through it as 2 law interns trying to put together a defence for the lead defence barrister on this case as someone has confessed to the murder but the barrister believes them to be innocent. One of the best books I have read this year.
I squealed at Rivers of London! One of my favorite book series! I understand why someone wouldn't get it if they don't know the book(s), but on the other hand, it's very literal as well, so should be easy 😂
You should read 'the bookseller of Kabul', its really good, very well written. Åsne Seierstad went to Kabul and stayed with a family to observe what happened in Kabul with the people, the regime, etc. She has also written a book called 'Two Sisters' about two sisters who leave Norway to join the Taliban. Both books I highly recommend!!
A flatmate and I spent a solid 2 hours the day it was released going through and guessing them all - the way we shouted at realising the classic novels in this list!
spoilers if you want to do the game i totally did research, but the two books you missed were Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch
Pretty sure the man in the tie dye is The Man Who Died Twice 🤔 oooh yes you got it! This was so fun. I thought the lady on the ladder was A Ladder to the Sky 😅
hahahah I love how for the Iotopia one he immediately put the secret library and the midnight library which is exactly what I did. I must say guessing that one was the proudest moment i had in the entire quiz. even better than when I finished it.
I guessed like two before you, but I wouldn't have gotten any of the other ones. And I knew immediately it was an Afghan hound, but that would have gotten me absolutely nowhere. Never even heard of that book.
Watching this, some of them that I couldn't get just seeing you work through them my brain some how clicked and I got it!! The tie dye man and the apple BUGGED me.
Ah, you got it. It's very good. By the way, she just released another book called "The Afghans" (Afghanerne). At least in Norwegian. I'm reading it as we speak. Still not translated.
Soooo, look away if you don’t want answer spoilers but… The books about rivers are Rivers of London, and the two life books are Life after Life. Honestly those life books had me stumped for forever. 😅😂
I followed along; and was indeed screaming at the TV 'its an afghan hound Jack!' I came straight to the comments to see if I could complete the last two images.
I got 10 completely on my own, and 3 with googling clues. I really wasn't expecting to do as well as I did! (Some of them were just total guesses for books I'd never heard of tho)
honestly the life after life one took me forever I kept searching up things like double life, afterlife, two lives, another life and then last minute just as I was about to give up I was like ill just try life after life, to be honest I didn't even know it was a book haha
Jack: I'm sure some of you are screaming this at me right now"
Me: *absolutely silent*
This made me chuckle 😂
this made me lol
My stomach hurts from laughing 🤣
Me absolutely silent bc i knew absolutely nothing and guessed a total of one. It was a colleen hoover book…I’ve never read colleen hoover 😭
for those who were wondering: the two missing books are "Rivers of London" by Ben Aaronovitch and "Life after Life" by Kate Atkinson :)
I figured out the life after life one but could not figure out the other one
I knew Life After Life
I guessed rivers of London!
I was yelling Rivers of London at the video almost immediately.
I was screaming at the screen: "Rivers of London!!!"

OMG that's amazing! This is such a wholesome moment - love your art btw, your art style brings back fond childhood memories.
The illustrations are fantastic!!! You did a wonderful job!
This was so good. I love it so much!
your art is so beautiful! good work!
I swear to god I though it was looking for alaska not another country. that was quite fun tho lol
Why the hell was my first instinct with the "Read Me" one Alice in Wonderland because of the "Eat me" and "Drink Me" LMAO
same here lol
I thought that too.
mine too
same thoooooo
ME TOO
the way I screamed the secret history once I saw 'confidential' and the greek letters 😭
SAME LMAO
same 😭
Same
Yes that one I knew right away, too
same
the satisfaction of guessing one before jack 😂❤
watching you guess 'the private history' was so difficult
The realisation after he said "she looks like Kate Bush" was perfect

Take more quizzes, please! This is so fun to watch and it just made my day
It was a joy to watch you work through this! I loved how you said ‘another country’ and proceeded to list others beginning with A 😅😅😅
Big thank you to Jack for posting today, i was having a pretty tough day and now i feel better ❤
❤

Absolutely lost a workday to this yesterday. Every year it has to be the worst day for productivity in the publishing industry 😂
I was literally screaming the secret history and ace of spades and it ends with us and i was like okay how is Jack not getting these? Especially, it ends with us🤣🤣
Now I want to see a video where you read all of these! (The ones you haven't already read)
i was so proud of myself for guessing the bookseller of kabul. i never would’ve got it if it wasn’t for the åsne name tag & that i’ve just recent read another of her books
The Afghan Hound selling the book, was the biggest clue for me, then the book with the car on.
The apple clue made me so happy because I LOVE THAT BOOK SO MUCH- the appeal is a cosy mystery told through emails around an amateur dramatic society. You read through it as 2 law interns trying to put together a defence for the lead defence barrister on this case as someone has confessed to the murder but the barrister believes them to be innocent. ahhh i’ve never heard of this before but it’s such a fun lil concept!!
petition for jack to solve the previous years' puzzles as well
You should read 'the bookseller of Kabul', its really good, very well written. My first two tries went exactly like yours! Gone with the wind and forgetting the "the" in the song of Achilles
A flatmate and I spent a solid 2 hours the day it was released going through and guessing them all - the way we shouted at realising the classic novels in this list!
Honestly Jack posting just made my shitty day good ❤
This was so fun to watch I was just guessing along with you lol
I've never seen this puzzle before ... so fun! I gave up after 12 and watched you do it. Still mad about Wuthering Heights LOL! A very fun video!!
me: immediately and frequently refreshing the comments to see if anyone has the answers to the last two yet...
spoilers if you want to do the game
i totally did research, but the two books you missed were Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch
I got Life After Life pretty quickly, but I was so stumped on Persuasion.

i was screamingggg the secret history hahaha
watching you write iotopia into google hurt me as a Greek person, not going to lie 😂
Sameee 😂😂
i took Ancient Greek in high school and even for me it was painful lmao
Not greek, language lover and that hurt
Rivers of London, you were so so close Jack! The other one I have no idea though
Not me yelling “It ends with us”! At the screen 😂
⬆️Thanks for your messages ,💗 Feedback appreciated. Hit me up above the username.👆🆙️
Pretty sure the man in the tie dye is The Man Who Died Twice 🤔 oooh yes you got it! This was so fun. I thought the lady on the ladder was A Ladder to the Sky 😅
not me screaming at the screen convinced it was “they both die at the end” and it was the man who died twice 🤡

You look so radiant in this grey hoodie, definitely your colour
this was so fun to watch, make this a series pls
hahahah I love how for the Iotopia one he immediately put the secret library and the midnight library which is exactly what I did. I must say guessing that one was the proudest moment i had in the entire quiz. even better than when I finished it.
the way you jokingly said “she kind of looks like kate bush” and you can see it click and your face change is so funny 😭😭😭
Couldn't get my brain away from "Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain" - tried every spelling, combo, etc 🤣
I cannot believe I guessed the yellow counter as "Heartstopper" before guessing it on the literal door stopper with a heart
Me screaming "Rivers of London" at you the whole time.
Ok but now is there going to be a “reading all the books in this puzzle” video? 👀
For the last two: Rivers of London and Life after life
Wow😳 thanks!
I would love to see you do another video like this, another go at the same game, because I really enjoyed playing along and I bet others did too.

As a Norwegian, it was so funny to hear you try to pronounce "Åsne"
btw Love you Jack
Watching this, some of them that I couldn't get just seeing you work through them my brain some how clicked and I got it!! The tie dye man and the apple BUGGED me.
Every year I try for 10 minutes, get 5 of the answers and then just give up. 😅

the bookseller of kabul, the beauty shop of kabul and the coffee shop of kabul are incredible books put them on your tbr now!!!
I was indeed screaming at you for taking so long to guess The secret history 🤣
absolutely cackled at "norwegian woof" 😂
The dog: "The bookseller of Kabul", by Åsne Seierstad, which is a Norwegian writer. The dog is an Afghan
Ah, you got it. It's very good. By the way, she just released another book called "The Afghans" (Afghanerne). At least in Norwegian. I'm reading it as we speak. Still not translated.
'read me' made me think of 'Alice In Wonderland' with the 'eat/drink me' i don't know if it's just me-
I was screaming at the screen for the secret history one 😂
For the dye man I thought "They both die at the end"😂
i feel so validated that jack and i had the exact same first move
Me: totally screaming "RIVERS OF LONDON!!!" at the screen
I'm so traumatized by "Things have gotten worse since we last spoke" that it seemed like the only possible answer to the apple peeler.
The rivers one, oh gosh, you were dancing around that title
one of my favourite videos ever
Soooo, look away if you don’t want answer spoilers but…
The books about rivers are Rivers of London, and the two life books are Life after Life. Honestly those life books had me stumped for forever. 😅😂
SCREAMING THE SECRET HISTORY
“She looks a bit like Kate Bush- 😆😳” I’m dyinggg
woke up and got the notification for this. Fun way to start the weekend 👌🏻🌸
The way I was screaming at my phone while watching this
"Maybe in another life" by Taylor Jenkins Raid is the two life books?
i was thinking the many lives of henrietta
Or the two lives of Lydia bird?
my serotonin level went higher as you mentioned killing eve 🖤 great content jack!
I followed along; and was indeed screaming at the TV 'its an afghan hound Jack!' I came straight to the comments to see if I could complete the last two images.
I got 20/20... the Rivers one is "the rivers of London" and the two lives one is "Life after life"
I got 10 completely on my own, and 3 with googling clues. I really wasn't expecting to do as well as I did!
(Some of them were just total guesses for books I'd never heard of tho)

the way i was screaming life after life lmaoo
Not my German education screaming Andorra 😂
Thanks so much, you helped me with this.
7:28 Jack spelled tree lives 😂
🤣
Wuthering is a Yorkshire word meaning wind, or the sound wind makes.
Your video made my day :))❤️
Rivers of London is one of the final 2!
screaming at my screen this whole time!
I feel like the rivers one is A River Runs through It
honestly the life after life one took me forever I kept searching up things like double life, afterlife, two lives, another life and then last minute just as I was about to give up I was like ill just try life after life, to be honest I didn't even know it was a book haha
"It should be three life"
*enters tree life*
I haven't even read Rivers of London but I was literally screaming at the screen. Jack you should have your nationality revoked lmao
the first one was Wuthering Heights
Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. 🤞🏼
And A little Life maybe?
I got really stuck on the apple slice and the man in tie dye, even though I’ve read the latter title 😂
LIFE AFTER LIFE!!
A Little Life is one of them!
When he said ‘Asne’ every Scandinavian died inside🫠
Noooooooo ahahaha when you kept saying Iotopia so confidently I was dying inside 😂 I was screaming IT SAYS HISTORY IN GREEK HAHAHA❤
Can’t get over the fact that I know a book you don’t (the bookseller of kabul). I feel accomplished in life
I was screaming Afgan Hound SO loud
'Rivers of London' for the rivers one!!!
The classicist in me literally screamed at Jack the moment he read ιστορια as iotopia
⬆️Thanks for your messages ,💗 Feedback appreciated. Hit me up above the username.👆🆙️
wouldn't it be awesome if the 5 river books were "the 5th wave" and the books that start with A were "looking for alaska"
I think the rivers are “the rivers in London” and the two lives might be “life after life”❤
7:27 "tree life" yes-
This is fun. I hope you do more games like this
