I just saw the show last Saturday night and it was magical. Heidi sang this so amazingly and I was totally blown away. Go see this show...no, really...GO!!!!!
I love this song. And Heidi Blickenstaff's voice is unreal. I love the way she sings "Again" at 2:05. That little breath in the middle works for some reason.
When she sang this, there was such a hush over the audience...it was amazing. I have never been so enthralled in one song in a show...it was breath-taking.
i'm about 12 years late on this vid, but i just can't believe how moving this song is as a live performance!! i listen to the cast album all the time and can never get these songs out of my head, but i don't care one bit! all four of them are geniuses, and Heidi is why i got obsessed with this show! I wish I wasn't two years old back when it was on Broadway XD i'd love to see it live!
I've been obsessed with this song (and the show, of course) ever since I got my hands on the off-broadway recording a year and a half ago, but I saw the show a few weeks ago, and seeing and hearing her sing this live was absolutely breathtaking.
i have the chills this is the most beautiful song in the whole entire world... why did the show have to close before i saw it.... this song can make me cry it's just so gorgeous
i've adored this musical for years - my old voice teacher had this in my repertoire before i knew the show, and i found a college production online to watch... a deeply underrated musical deserving of much more love and appreciation!!
i saw this show on friday night (august 15th) and completely fell in love. one of the best shows on broadway right now. i hope it stays on for a long long time. just amazing.
This song it's amazing! The show it self is one of the best shows I've seen in my life, it's so simple, but it's reality, for the ones that work on teh Musical Theatre Bizz. Congratulations to them!
I loved everything about this show when I saw it all those years ago. But this song (along with Nine People's Favorite Thing) gets me EVERY time. Beautifully written. And stunningly performed!!!
Aaand there goes the eye makeup. Beautiful job, Heidi. It's not always easy for me to get through musicals without bawling like a ninny because I find people's talents so damn moving. Heidi's performance therefore kicked my ass. I'm attending your show this weekend. I'll be the mess in Row J.
i love that the authors of title of show can write such great funny, lively music AND stuff like this. and i ADORE heidi blickenstaff. phenomenal. :) and sooo funny! i want her to be my best friend.
I'm auditioning for Heidi with a local theatre on Tuesday and I have to sing this song and Secondary characters. Nervous! Both songs are in my belt range and go up to show of the rest of my vocal range. Perfect songs.
Is it possible to get a full video recording of the musical anywhere? I mean, since they recorded the songs, there should also be a video recording of the rest right?
im actually at "then" except im 5 years older and i drink real grape juice not koolaid. but i will follow in your footsteps and get to broadway! i wish i could help u guys stay open. ive told way more than nine people...
@Heterormorphic if it's not too late... go to 4shared.com and type in "title of show" the entire libretto of the show is available there to download (for free). that'll give you plenty of context (obviously)
If this show doesn't win something for any frickin' awards show craziness, I will be pretty pissed. I had never seen anything like it and it was genuine art.
Like I said, I agree that it's wonderful. On an emotional level, I'd love for the creators to realize their dreams of a Tony. They're the "Little [Show] that Could". While I'm guessing they'll be a contender, I just think it's a tad early to say anyone "deserves" anything. There's a lot more headed our way for the season.
It's really sad when something pure and original like this gets shafted to make room for the steroid-powered musical versions of movies... I guess that's business. Sigh.
I have grudgingly accepted that movies will be the main source of new musicals - after all, three of my favorite musicals (Gentleman's Guide, A Little Night Music, On the Twentieth Century) are from movies. It's the jukebox musicals--and the self-indulgent autobiographical jukebox musicals in particular--that make me believe that Broadway is truly dead.
yeah i think it will at least be in the running for best musical, but this year there will be alot of competition with tale of two cities, billy elliot, 9 to 5, godspell, and vanities. i hope they don't forget about title of show.
I was wondering why a beat was missing at 0:47 in the music before "so I bailed on my hometown" and I think they must have edited it out because there was a word of spoken dialogue. Nice job! Almost undetectable
I'm pretty sure that most shows are filmed professionally at least once for archive purposes. They are not, however, usually available to the general public. Which is unfortunate. =(
*Deserves* the Tony? I agree the show is wonderful and I would, personally, love to see the creators realize their dreams. I've seen it more than once and will likely see it again if it stays open through that time. Still, there's a lot coming our way between now and Tony time. The season has barely begun. How do we know what deserves what while we've hardly scratched the surface?
The lyric "being who you wanted to be in this world" gets me every time.
I just saw the show last Saturday night and it was magical.

this is absolutely beautiful. never heard it before and it's just become one of my favourite songs. it's soooo truthful.

Heidi is amazing! And she's SO humble!
yep, still making me weep at my computer 4 years later.
This song it's amazing! The show it self is one of the best shows I've seen in my life, it's so simple, but it's reality, for the ones that work on teh Musical Theatre Bizz.

Chills. Wow. Just wow.
The first time I heard this song I played it over and over. I was blown away.
Oh. my god. I think I'll be crying for a while on this one. This is spectacular.
How did she NOT get nominated for a Tony???? BRILLIANT performance!
It’s 2020 and this still wrecks me every. damn. time.
I loved this show so much and would have loved to have seen it again and again. This was brilliant.
Loved this show.
*sniff* this song makes me cry, i love it!
i love how she says "again"
She riffs amazingly! Wow!
She will get more roles after this show. Her voice is gorgeous!
Sooooooooo good to see and hear this.
Aaand there goes the eye makeup. Beautiful job, Heidi.

I can understand. I can't even listen to it without crying.
I LOVE this song! Heidi's voice is STUNNING! I can't BELIEVE this shows closing. I

i love that the authors of title of show can write such great funny, lively music AND stuff like this.

so simply elegant, just like Heidi.
Gosh I already miss this show on Broadway. I got to see it, thankfully, but I would love to see it again sometime. "[title of show]" THE MOVIE!!
this is the epitome of my life right now.
I'm having a kick ass time listening to this
this such a pretty song
Beautiful.
This song never fails in making me cry. Seriously. I so regret not having been able to have seen this show.
National Tour, anyone?
HER VOICE IS SO AMAZING
absolutely love this song
Absolutley love this song!
I love this. They're beautiufl.
Of course there's so much more to see, but you have to admit that nothing like this has ever been on Broadway before.
im obsessed
I'm auditioning for Heidi with a local theatre on Tuesday and I have to sing this song and Secondary characters. Nervous! Both songs are in my belt range and go up to show of the rest of my vocal range. Perfect songs.
I know it's been at least 6 years, but how'd the audition go?
This is very title of show. :) I love it !
this makes me cry about every single time i hear it. dont leave us [title of show] =(
Whoever shot this clip should become a cinematographer. Seriously, good work!
i've been in love with this show for a year...i've seen it twice already and want to see it again and again...these bitches are fucking talented.
i wanna be heidi's vocal chords for a day.
wow she has a good voice
"9 people's favorite thing" and "a way back to then" are my 2 favorite songs :D
I love how her voice just resonates perfectly when singing the word "Again" at 2:02
LOVE IT!!!
So, I miss this show beyond belieffff
[tos] =
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZNG...
Is it possible to get a full video recording of the musical anywhere? I mean, since they recorded the songs, there should also be a video recording of the rest right?
It will be back in time.
Ugh. I don't know why anyone would look any further for Sally Bowles in the upcoming "Cabaret" revival. Heidi would be perfect!
I think everyone can relate to this song.
That voice is soooo [title of show]!!
im actually at "then" except im 5 years older and i drink real grape juice not koolaid. but i will follow in your footsteps and get to broadway! i wish i could help u guys stay open. ive told way more than nine people...

We are singing this for Show Choir(:
i can't get over how much i'm in love with her. if i weren't a gay man, i'd marry her. love love love you blick-ster!
This video is fantastic. :D
Right there with ya.
I know what you mean. A good singer knows that sometimes, emotion is more important than "sounding pretty." I love this song.
well said; so very true ;)
no, but they did change some songs and add some stuff that happened after their off-broadway run. :)
1) go to titleofshow [DOT] com
2) Click [ticket info for show]
3) Questions about show.
It's the second question; the info is there. ;]
Very very true.
These lyrics are really magical. I'm actually sort of regretting seeing 'Chicago' instead of this show when I was in New York...
I just saw you say that on MdN!

@theatrelover10 My sentiments exactly.

I'm kinda embarrassed as to how much this song makes me cry.
I was wondering why a beat was missing at 0:47 in the music before "so I bailed on my hometown" and I think they must have edited it out because there was a word of spoken dialogue. Nice job! Almost undetectable

THANK YOU.
There are no other words...THANK YOU.
Are these from the press reel?
Where is she supposed to be in this? D: I have to sing this for my musical theater class and I need to know XD
Whoops, I directed the post to the cast, when this isn't the tos channel. My bad..
i agree annie. i wonder how she felt on closing when she sang this.. =[
and THIRTEEN!!!!! THe new JRB musical. I think Sondheim's Bounce is coming to broadway, too, this season. Fucking great time to be in New York.
I like it more a tad slower. It's more sentimental that way.
Don't let that stop you! There's very few words you'd even have to change to make this applicable to a guy.
I wouldn't know specifically.
I'm just commenting on the general trends of supply and demand on broadway.
TOS is already going off. :(
[title of show] is so title of show !
I'm guessing this was professionally recorded...? Any news of some sort of DVD being made available? That would be CRAMAZING!
I've heard you can only watch each show once though, so use it wisely.
“hearing Andrea McArdle sing from the hi-fi in the den.” OMG
She's amazing. Actually, her voice in some songs reminds me quite of the lovely Idina Menzel...not to say that Heidi is an imitation or anything!
the sheet music just came out...
