- Mayor Ken Livingstone, Brian Sewell, Professor Peter White and former conductor Gloria Bailey (who remembers the advertising for conductors in Jamaica) are amongst the contributors to this film narrated by James Castle.
Ken Livingstone really shot himself in the foot saying: "Only a ghastly de-humanised moron would want to get rid of the Routemaster". In 2003 he made inroads into doing just that.
It was always very enjoyable, travelling on RMC 1510 as an open top bus on route 23.

No7 East Acton to Tottenham Court Road. One of my routes out of of Westbourne Park (X). I managed to get a swap onto my favourite route the 31s Camden to Chelsea World's End.
Shame a very cost effective bus when to repair the reason why they lasted so long
I always enjoyed riding on RMC on route 23 when he was an Open Top. happy days.

Livingston was in a dream world bringing back old knackered Routemaster buses
I miss the old Route Master buses just for the hop on hop off ability. Only thing that was a problem was the disabled access and staff cut backs eg moving to driver only and sometimes occasionally accidents. The Route Master bus lasted more years than any other bus combined. Even the RT before it . .fond memories of hopping on and off them along many routes including 36
