It matches the color on my 66 GTO, but no metal flake in my flame red. I have airbrushed flames on the hood and down the front fenders to the ends of the doors. This is a great looking 900L. I've always loved the KWs, and driven a few too.
Love the 86” sleeper size and the integral cab/sleeper, but otherwise I prefer the Peterbilt. With a 6NZ & an 18 speed, 22.5 wheels on aluminum & 3.55-3.58 rears. 8-10” pipes. No cab/sleeper tour?
I like the 2 piece windshield option. It gives that classic look on an already classic looking truck. I assume drivers probably think it obstructs their view.
@@KenworthofRichfield Shit I wouldn't care if the one piece has more visibility..i wouldn't get a w9 for fuel efficiency and or visibility or turning radius lol I know you give those things up to have that truck. But you deal with it cause your driving an American icon lol.

I apologise if my questions are silly. I grew up driving stick and i hate the automatic. But even then, shifting 18 gears sounds terrifying. Is it easy to learn and master 18 speed transmission? Also, is it possible to find trucks with this classic style (W900 or Pete 389) with an automatic gearbox? Do they make it nowadays?
I love the questions! 18 speeds isn't as intimidating as it sounds as long as you know what each switch does. You can order a W900 with an automated transmission no problem!
Why are the fuel filler openings in the most awkward positions. The tank filler opening needs to be mounted behind the bunk in a top not slanted position so, one, you can access the fuel fill point, two, in facing upwards instead of slanted over to the side due to bunk obstructions, you can get an extra 20 to 30 gallons in the tank. I am I missing something here? Always frustrated when fueling, knowing if the tank is mounted different, I can access it easier plus get more fuel in the tank. Must be some regulation that says tanks must be slanted to the side so you can only get 120 or 130 instead of 150 in the tank.
@@Dudemieser Not sure the year model but I drove one W900L Studio for a week that the filler located behind the bunk by the catwalk. It was slanted to the side but not as bad. You could easily get the tanks full. If I ever get to where I can buy my own truck I spend the money to remount the tanks to my specs. Either way W900L still the best truck on the roads.
Is there anyplace I can’t get a pretty all encompassing information on options available from the factory for a W900L and a T680? I want to be able to go through and build out the trucks I’m aiming for.
Unfortunately, there's no public "build it" program out there. Really, when it comes down to it, it's the cab options that are different between the two.
903 is a completely different truck not available here in states to my knowledge. The W900L and W900B have different length hoods/frames. The L being the longer of the two.
Kenworth of Richfield are you sure it’s completely different? I see that it uses the same hood, cab and exterior components as the W900/W900B. Also, by W900 & W900B, I mean W900 vs W900 w/ a “B” designation for the model.
Kenworth of Richland i have a 1974 K121 an want to replace the front windshield i have the windows but the window gaskets i got from KW are wrong they are to big is there a difference in the years they made them the gaskets i have are 2 in bigger then the opening
Going back that far, the would be a difference. The cab has stayed largely the same, but I believe that there was a total redesign back in the mid-80's. That could be part of the problem with it. You may have to look at a restoration house to see if they can find a piece that would work.
Why not spec with 2050 torque , and I would have done the full gauges NO costly NAV when it goes out. It looks like it has room for a pusher but the air tanks would have to be moved from under the added tool box Great color the whole truck hasen't changed much since 1983

Would’ve like to see the inside of that beast. Same engine in the peterbilt. You must be short; compared to that truck lol. Does it have disk brakes? What’s the turning radius (just asking)?
I'm 5'9"....so not short...but I'm no jolly green giant either. LOL The inside is the same as the Midnight blue one that I did the video before. It's drum brakes on that truck. I don't have the turning radius chart on it....but it is a 280" W9.....so keep that in mind. :D
I'm guessing that is a 280" frame? Can you order a 300" frame? With the New Fontaine Revolution flatbed trailers a longer frame would give you the added room for the tool box on the back of the 86" sleeper. The full deck on the back would also grant better access to the door on the front of an Aero Conestoga XP sliding tarp system, not to mention being safer footing as well. As you may know, some flatbed loads require you to move the fifth-wheel forward quite a bit to transfer weight to the front axle. I'm just thinking it might be a good idea to have a little extra room between the units since you have so much going on in that space. I love the door hinges on that truck btw. Note to factory: MORE BLACK LEATHER AND CARBON FIBER #HOLLYWOOD
Yup! 280" frame but we can easily order something in a 300" without a problem. If you need something spec'd, we can get pretty much anything that you'd want. :D
@@KenworthofRichfield Did Cummins fix the problems they had with the top end of their engines yet? They have had issues since the early 90's on and off. You either get an engine that is bullet proof, like the 350 cum-a-long in my 87 Western Star, or it can't pass a service station without getting the valve train tuned. I really like the silver on burgundy red color scheme. Very close to the Mercedes Mclaren colors. But another classic color scheme is the black on burgundy red, which was very popular on the 1960's Cadillac fleetwood. Why don't I see more of these colors pre-ordered from dealers like yourself? Can you get this truck in automatic?
We can order it however you would like, yes. :D
Beautiful truck.
I just can’t afford $200,000+ for 4 years, not with the rates I’m seeing.
nice truck, from a distance.., but when you get close; all I see is 100's of rivets. what's with all the rivets on the outside...??? it's not 1963 anymore....
A lot of folks would be upset if they didn't see those. LOL Have you looked at the W990? No rivets showing. :D
Only real trucks have rivets
@@kilpel2 only in America... As they say...
What would that truck cost if a man paid cash for it ?
3 pedals is the only way to go.
I can always understand the love of the manual
A Real Truck has 3 Pedals...!
i drive a black Kenworth W900L in American truck sim.
Nice! Great choice!
Kenworth of Richfield thank you :)
Why the frame not red
What companies run these rigs?
None. Bad fuel mileage for a company truck.
@@jaysongraft3627 wrong the w900 is the most popular for any job
Im a graduating student who would love to work for a company running these trucks
Yeah, we all said that once, but.....you're probably gonna have to just buy one like the rest of us. I like your enthusiasm though.
@@BillyReed68 yea that's probably what I'll do just not from you but I like your enthusiasm thow
@@BillyReed68 love the hair do geek
@@BillyReed68 how would you no what it takes to make our there anyway because we all no daddy probably set you in your little job there hun 😂😂😋😋😋
3 pedals - oh yeah! I know how to shift. You can keep those rookie automatics for someone else.
We like both. There is a time and place for each. :D
I got my CDL on a 10 speed, and did my first 25k miles in a 13 speed. Manual is nice, and so is auto. It's all about time and place. I'll drive either, I like them both equally and I am equally comfortable in either/or.
@Earl James what a rookie.. gets some years under your belt young man!
Price please
Good video. I too make lots of videos of my 2019 W900 and I pass through Ohio often if you want to check them out. I subbed.
Thanks MarcAnthony! We subscribed and will keep an eye out for your stuff also!!!
Nice!
Whats the avg mpg on this with x15 565, anyone know hauling general freight?
That can vary wildly depending on the driver. I've got one guy that's running this setup that's able to get mid-6's.
@@KenworthofRichfield okay thats alright i guess
Sold.
HEY. . . . .THATS MY KENWORTH W-900L AERODYNE!!! GIVE IT BACK TO ME. . . .NOW!!!
To anyone that will bless me with there knowledge of trucking driving and or owning your own truck. I have only had my class a for a little over 1 year and in the next year or so I will be looking in to purchasing my own truck. I personally love kenworth trucks I love everything about the look I was born in the 80’s so I’m thinkin of terminator judgment day as well as Optimus Prime. Lol. Ok seriously. I can operate auto and standard due to the curriculum at Clark State Community college truck driving school. “ one of the best programs in my area of Dayton Ohio. I can operate the 10 gear standards but I was just browsing on line and saw that a lot of trucks were saying 18 gear transmissions. I didn’t even kno such a thing existed. I am very familiar with the selector switch for a 10 gear... HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU OPERATE THE 18 GEAR?!!!!!!
The blue one is prettier! Than this one I mean.
You wouldn't turn this one down though, would you? :D
