Wow! Am same age as Rich & my older Brother had a red ‘63 with a white convertible top and red interior. It was 1968 and I remember he had a hidden extra ignition switch installed in the glove box and it saved his car from being stolen more than once. Loved riding in that car with my bro. His was a fuel injected model but ran really great. Great job on this buy and congrats on getting a dream car Mike.

Congrats! I have an identical Black C2 coupe, only mine is a 64, saddle interior, power windows, etc.. For a 55+ year old car with drum brakes, they drive really well...almost modern feeling. The C2 was the first corvette to feature the now common IRS (independent rear suspension) rear end..Disk brakes weren't until 1965. When the 64 came out, it is true that people were updating their 63 splits to look like 64s, but there wasn't a "kit" for 63s from GM..It was just a 1964 back window. I know an old gentleman that ran a bodyshop back in the 60s and 70s, and he told me he cut the divider out of many 63 coupes...pretty crazy.
Nice split window. I'm a C1/3 fan myself. '63 was the second to last year of FI for C2's. Even the C1 FI's could run great if setup correctly. Very few people know how to set them up and rebuild them correctly. You will get much much better mpg than a carburetor but are more hp limited but can make more than enough power to tweak the body on pulls. As well as much much more expensive to rebuild and purchase. I would go carbureted myself as well.

Yeah my uncle has a 67 corvette with both the convertible and hardtop. It’s a 327 with 300Hp with a 4 speed. He got it used in 70 and he’s the second owner. It’s kinda become an urban legend in the family since he barely drives it now that he’s older and keeps it locked in the garage between his tractor and his 71 Camaro he bought new. I have only seen the car once. He actually let my grandfather actually daily drive it for a couple months in the late 80s early 90s. The best part is it is all original and you can turn the key and go.
The 63 Split Window Corvette is probably the most iconic Corvette of all time. Love the color combo and the side pipes! Don't mod it, don't do anything to it other than clean it. It's awesome just the way it is!

My dad's first out of eight vette's was a '65 Nassau Blue with matching interior. He had hood up playing around with carburetor linkage and hit linkage and when the air sucked in the top of the carburetor and it growled. I was hooked from that day on and I was only 12.

All of the carbureted cars had 4 barrel carbs. The 250 horse cars had a Carter WCFB and Power Pack heads, the 300 horse cars had a Carter AFB and double hump heads and the 340 horse cars had the same carb and heads as the 300 horse cars but a bigger camshaft. The fuelie motors had the same heads as the 340 horse motors but had a solid cam and the Rochester fuel injection setup.
Not really a fan of ppl who say they want numbers matching bc it's those guys who make the prices of old cars so high you have to be rich to afford even the rustbuckt ones
Without getting crazy some bolt on suspension upgrades will make that "old" Vette drive just that much better My bud has a 62 roadster that has hidden engine and suspension upgrades and a Dyno tune Carburated but starts and drives super nice
My neighbor had two a c4 that he kept under the deck and wrapped in a tarp. And a 63 just like this one but not as original as this one. I loved for the days he invited me over to hear them run

40 years ago I had the one similar. I made a bad business deal and to sell it. I regret it to this day. If you ever want to sell it, I’ll buy it. I love my C7Z but long for the day when I can sit behind the wheel of another ‘63 and run it up and down the Kona Coast. Enjoy that fabulous piece of plastic-she’s a beaut!
AMC Ramblers with the 327 and Bendix fuel injection were dragging these things around the track back then but the Bendix system wasn't reliable enough so AMC pulled it. I just put my Holley Sniper EFI on my 66 Rambler Rebel 327 4 barrel car. Working on a 4 speed now. Little AMC history I guess. Love me a split window though.
The 327 Is my Favorite Small block Chevy. I built a solid lifter 500hp 67 327 in my 67 Impala Fastback. revs to 7,000rpm max rpm is 7,500rpm. Nothing better then a 327 screaming at 7,000rpm going down the 1/4mile!
Actually you want the fuel injected one they actually made more power , my brother had a1965 with a 396/425hp and with. 9” slick it ran 11.00 flat in the 1/4 , so you know your 360hp motor on a dyno were actually over 420hp
My Grandpa had a C3 1979 Corvette with Silver and a red leather interior it was so beautiful so seeing pictures of it on the internet that was just like his.
Trailer needs some thick steel fenders for driving over! Otherwise eventually they're gonna crush into the wheels. May not think it, but its worth it to get it out of the way now and never have to worry about it.

One more thing Mike, that car was built before unleaded gas invented. If the motor ha not been rebuilt to include valves that are designed for unleaded gas, you will need to buy some lead additive to throw in the gas tank.
My family has a 1964 and the 250 hp was a 2 barrel but the 300hp was a 4 barrel Carter AFB and the 1964 365 hp L76 had a 4 barrel Holley. Personally, I understand why people don't want to deal with the fuel injection but factory Fuelies are something special, but for a driver, the Holley is a better option
You gotta do a 63 restomod corvette. Obviously not a numbers matching one but a beat up one and put in a new zr1 engine in it and custom interior. People would love that on the channel
