This just dropped into my feed. I would say that it depends how you define the term Blues. Blues is the same in Jazz as it is in Blues It is a term that sits on a sliding scale, which could mean anything. To a Blues player Bird is a jazz Player. To a post Trane player Bird is a blues player.

Hey Chad! Hope you get to read this, I used to be be a guitar player but due to physical issues and a mental burnout I had to quit playing and even thinking about music for about 3 years. Your content has been extremely helpful at creating motivation to get back at the horse and most of all, feeeling HAPPINESS when playing my instrument. I hope you have a great life and your channel keeps growing bigger and bigger. Best regards!

Nice examples of jazz blues! The blues shuffle etude was really hip! (I grew up in the neighborhood of the South Side of Chicago where Buddy Guy, Otis Spann and Junior Wells played blues). And, yes the bebop etude was intimidating, despite the 10 year old Chad story.

You are a wonderful teacher! Also you sound a lot like Johnny Griffin when you play the basic blues and the bebop blues. And that is compliment!

And also this is a blues (y también esto es un blues): la re re mi la re, la re re mi la re, la re mi fa# sol la fa sol la sol fa re mi DOO🤯😂. I love you, Chad. Quality content, now i have material for a days, analyzing these lines. Hahah doesn't matter but your speech change a little bit i think Chad at the beginning, i think is more relaxed, your voice is in a more low tone hahaha only a curiosity, well so good speak. Oh but your tone of the voice is perfect, not too low, like Parker, Lol 😂. (Laugh of the Parker at the final of Thou Swell at the Washington theatre). And the negative harmony like Collier? Subtitles in English please, or Spanish but that is more difficult hehe.

Best advice to guitar players; STOP LISTENING TO GUITAR PLAYERS ! The horn players lead the way and always have. Listen to guitar player and you'll sound like a guitar player. Study the horn players, and you'll sound like a MUSICIAN !

I'm a guitarist..I find it hard to listen to guitar phrasing...too corny and predictable plus weak tones as compared to horns. Seems to be dishonest to me to rely on tricks rather then true soulful inspired playing.

Love this work. Btw, not sure where I should post this, but I have a question about your 15 approach note enclosure book. Is the best way to progress through the book by starting on page 1, and just doing it one exercise at a time until I master them chronologically? Or does it not matter?

They're blues in the sense that they're based on the blues form, i.e. 12 bars of music in 3 four bar sections - but you may be thinking of Blues as a whole musical style - eg muddy waters, BB king - It's best to think of this as "Jazz Blues".
