In this video we look at how to use a blues scale as the basis for a solo on the sax. We look at some simple, yet highly effective "question and answer" phrases that sound fantastic and are easy to get the hang of.

Sound of a sax is clear, cool, and most a relaxing concept. I’ve known Blue scaling for years… added to… “ I like chicken and my wife likes cheese.” Profound but not hard! Thanks for the tips.

For me the things that makes you stand out from allll the other online sax teachers is that you really care by replying to all the comments and that is HUGE!!! Also the type of content you putting out is simple easy to follow and very effective. I really love the way you show the patterns and then give examples of how to use them. helo, the strategy is great. but what if the chord progression is not only 2 chords like the backing track in the video lets say a famous I vi ii V. this strategy still works? thank you
Hi there, thank you for your question. This strategy works well over a blues but won’t work so well over a 251 or other more complex chord structures. I will be creating tutorials on other chord structures including 251’s in the coming days and weeks.
