5:00 correction, in Indonesian market, there are 3 types xpander with black interior color, Xpander Exceed Black edition, Xpander Sport, n Xpander Cross. His brother, namely Livina also uses a dark interior color, specifically the VL trim already uses black leather seats like the Malaysian market
I don't know about the BRV but I found the handling of this car to be quite amazing for an MPV
I like how hafriz matches his g-shocks to his attire; noticed how the watch matches the colour of the flowers on his shirt. I bet he has a watch for each of his shirt he wears on the channel

Tried sitting on it yesterday,very impressed its more proportional and easy to get into like the Outlander since im 165-167cm in height

The normal maintenance is fine.. But the fuel filter need to be changed every 60k km for RM4xx... Im quite shocked with the part price...
Bigger headroom and legroom than the Exora?

1:25 the most faux-SUV looking MPV is the 2008 or 1st gen RUSH. Why the rush? The door mounted spare tire, I should know because my family owns 1. The new Rush/Aruz, this, and similarly classed Xover doesn't really feels like an SUV, unless people fit them thicker tires, that will give a better impression of an SUV.

Isn't it safer to have both hands on the steering when driving? There is a lot of "one-handed" driving because of constant gesturing with the hands, and even "hands-off" several times.
Thats true. But if you feeling in control, (considering road condition, traffics, car speed etc) should be no trouble with one handed steer

Why I think Aruz is the absolute winner here? They gave 6 airbags and ASA as well. But handling of course.
Handling just use kyb suspension and anti rollbar sets for rm3000-4000,i guess it shud be better with lower height aswell

You should do Genting runs on your review and explain the performance of each department of the car under stressed conditions. The technicals in actual performance is what serious car owners wish to know. Not about alphabets like AEB, ESP or other terms which are not really applicable in a 'real' accident. You need to explain how the car is built around crash tests, crumple zones, engine management, chassis development, suspension set-up and brake technology. Not just looks, AEB, ESP or other children's nursery rhymes!
Really wanna know the engine power with the fully loaded passengers and cargo space... is stll sufficient?

2 airbags on a 90k MPV in 2021 is totally unacceptable for me though. Come on mitshubishi, you can do much better than this man.

and the power should be around 115 hp with 6 speed gearbox or 5 speed bcz 4 speed is not suitable anymore for mpv. hope MMM can try to change the gearbox

Mitsubishi days are long gone.
The Xpander is good value for money EXCEPT it needs to review and correct its Evo engineering suspension which makes it ride like a Pajero. I mean there's not too much roll but the bounce was enough to deter me.
The presenter is more on BRV's than introducing the Xpander.

Yes, I've been wandering around aruz for quite some times. But I brought xp in the end.
@@likzen8876 same. Was eyeing aruz for so long. Test driven 3 times even. I test drive xp once & now, it is under my porch. Love the silent & comfy ride. Handling is good too for a tall thing.

Finally have time to share my experience here.
When I decided to buy my wife a SUV last year end under tax exemption. Nevertheless extending until end of this year.
Targeted SUV max rm130k. Shortlisted a few for test drove. They were Sabaru XV, Mazda Cx-3, Honda HRV and Mitsubishi Xpander.
Since Bermaz did not bring in Cx-3 las year (only know after informed by sales advisor), ended up tested cx-30. The low spec is sold at rm146k. Since still afford up to rm150k, gave it a chance.
Okay, back to this Xpander. I know it is only a budget SUV. My wife did not want to consider it. I pursuaded her for trst drive. For me, it was simple. I could still buy it as long as it can meet my minimum requirement. I wanted to buy a SUV that meet my requirement with lowest possible cost. What I like about this car was nice exterior look and 7 seaters.
After test drove, should say during test drove, I told myself NO. I looked at my wife face, I know her decision too.
Here are the reasons:
1. The interior material used (dashboard, PVC seat) is really very cheap. Look cheap, touch and feel cheap. For your information, I still keep the first batch avanza with me, 2005, 1.3 auto. If the material quality of Xpander is built at least conpare to this old Avanza, I can accept it. I am not idiot that expect it will look and feel like few hundreds thousand car.
2. The third row space. Again compare against Avanza, it feel much smaller.
3. NVH. I am expecting 2020 new car is built with improvement over old 2005 Avanza. Nevertheless, when drove over road bumps, Xpander vibrated just like Avanza. If you really force me to tell the difference, just slightly softer. Engine noise, tyre noise, under carriage noise, wind noise, etc. The power of this 1.5NA is not tesponsive enough even compare to other 1.5NA engine, such as BRV.
If it can be built with better material, improve the sound proof, suspension and offer 1.6NA, I do not mind if pay at higher price.
But anyway, this SUV still have its own market.
So, can i ask what car that you choose in the end?

Can't accept 2 airbags for 7 seater car.
The engine is ancient..the 4A91 was introduced in 2004 in Mitsubishi Colt.It is essentially unchanged.That is 16 years ago!!! BRV and Aruz use a newer modern engine.

Yes its ancient but in terms of performance, efficiency & reliability, it is about the same with its rivals so, who cares, really. If it ain't broke...
New engines sure better performance but people dont buy MPV for that reason, its for family travel and outing.
when the Geely Haoyue or x90 comes to the market, the market will heat up for 7 seaters. go look at the Philippines Geely Okabango for what is to come.
The Geely X90 is essentially an SUV and not MPV. So its not a competitor to this car. Also, the Philippines is a lower priced MPV market with competitors mostly Chinese and Korean cars, compared to Malaysia which is more Japanese and European SUV centric. In the MPV category, cars such as the Innova and Rush does not sell well in Malaysia as the local market has a higher price point for MPV purchases. So in Malaysia cars such as the Serena Hybrid is a greater seller MPV. Currently only the BRV and Xpander are available besides the Perodua Alza which is smaller, in the B sized MPV segment.

Media diberI oleh MMM mengiklankan produk kereta ini .. selepas dipasarkan jualan di Malaysia ramai orang gembira menanti nanti menunggu beli kereta ini ... lepas itu , ramai orang tak faham kenapa kereta start bergerak dalam 0-20km/j berbunyi (tak tak) di kaki kanan semasa tekan minyak.. ramai orang kecewa dengan Kenapa MMM ciptaan Xpander kepada orang Malaysia yang tidak sama di Indonesia sebab katanya orang Indonesia tidak ada info masalah yang macam ini...

sorry but as malaysian i could not stand when some fella turn the fog lamp at 12 noon ffs even no fog in middle of the night they using it and my eyes burn every single time.
conclusion lembu always use fog lamp 24/7 even no fog to be found.
