The transfer of power took place at midnight, on the night dividing 14th and 15th Aug. So technically, it is the 15th. For both. Both the dominions celebrated on 15th Aug for a couple of years before Pakistan declared 14th as their Independence Day(birthday actually) in order to distance itself from India. Pakistan even released stamps showing 15th as their Independence Day. Since then, this canard has become the truth for Pakistanis.

Oh please. Hitler and 2nd world war are the reason that British had to leave. Hitler broke British and queen was having problems managing vast India. It was then put on sale in 1945. America was an expected buyer but it backed out of bids at the last moment. Then Britisn asked Nehru and Jinnah to come up with a plan and this is how India and Pakistani came into being. The only true freedom fighter India has ever produced was none other than Tipu Sultan. The rest were on British payroll and grew up under British given English schools, freedom, radio, newspaper, parliament legal frame etc. These so called Indian freedom fighters like Gandhi, Jinnha, Patel, Nehru etc were aware of what was going on in England after 1st and 2nd world war. So they started protests for freedom under the British given freedom of protest.

Give Jinnah the credit for creation of Pakistan. However calling him secular or not an advocate of partition would be grossly inaccurate. For someone to control the future one needs to control history. Hence these narratives are in interest of Pakistan’s future so this has been widely publicised. Then another outlook is that there is no future if one cannot make peace with the past! So the choice is ours.
Well this is a beaten narrative of history that Jinnah wanted partition. Had it been so why would he have accepted the Cabinet Mission Plan? Who didn't accept it ? Who wanted to have a strong central government? Why did Jinnah call for Direct Action ? Why did Pandit Nehru said to Jinnah , " I agree but Patel doesn't ". Please throw light on this fact of history.

Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru were no ordinary people highly educated, polished, humane and impartial. Nehru a pure Aryan Kashmiri Brahman (Pandit that is Butt) was extremely good-looking and Edwina (Edwina was pretty had some Semitic blood as well) when she saw him for the first time fainted. This is well documented. Her daughter (Lady Pamela Carmen Louise Hicks) also the family members of Nehru mention that their relationship was spiritual and not sexual. Nehru being impotent is surely very carefully planted disinformation. A howler of the century. Edwina surely loved Nehru dearly. Before Edwina married Mountbatten she was a known siren. Baalwala is a nice person but certainly not a historian. This is the typical U-tube history meant for the consumption of lay people. Nehru, Patel, Sardar Pratap Singh Kairon, etc. were like brothers. Had excellent teamwork. Moreover often Race and Religion can not be mixed. Islam is a Semitic-religion and Iran follows mostly Semitic-Islam but refer to an Iranian as a Semite (Yehudi-Arab, children of Abraham) and note the reaction. Iranians belong to the Aryan Race and most follow Semitic-Islam. Some Iranians did not convert to Semitic-Islam and continued to follow Aryan-Zoroastrianism. However by Race most Iranians whether Muslim or Zoroastrian are the same people that is Aryans. It is the same in the Indian subcontinent. Before Semitic-Islam arrived here most were Hindus or Buddhists. Thus Pakistanis are surely not Semites that is Arabs in this case but mostly of Aryan racial stock since they converted from Aryan Hindus. A Muslim can be of different races such as Aryan, Turk, Semitic, Negroid, Mongol, etc. thus not same people but followers of same religion. As simple as that.

Family scattered in three districts here while they were living in same village there so they remained disturbed though they got agricultural land in exchange of their land in India but migration in itself is a horrible thing especially when there is so much bloodshed... My grandfather was an honorary magistrate in british raj means he was a man of honor but he confined himself to his home for rest of his life ...

I know he was in Lahore too for quite a while, and in one of your episodes you went to the house his relatives stayed in. His son Shahid Rafi told me, and maintains that they are from Amritsar. I also met a childhood friend and classmate of Rafi Sahib's, Arjun Singh, in Amritsar and heard a few anecdotes of their childhood. So, The question of him not coming 'back' to Pakistan isn't really valid. The others that you mentioned were of course from West Punjab. Ishtiaq sahib has written a book 'Pre-Partition Punjab's Contribution to Indian Cinema', which I'm guessing you already know.
Manto knew Very well that he won't be very famous amongst the other great writers in India ( which included many muslim lyricist also). By the way, hindi film industry till 1970 was dominated by muslims because in hindu religion acting or association with films was frowned upon( but surprisingly not in theatre)

Gandhi was a huge fraud, when the riots broke out in Bihar and muslims were killed, he was requested to go there and make piece. He refused to go there saying that his sexual desires are distrurbing him, so he need to calm them down. He did not go there until Suherwardy started counter action and hindus were getting hit. Sad but Gandhi always duped others. He lost his shine after the failure of 1945 talks in bombay. By that time Patel and Nehru had made Gandhi ineffective in the party politics, his role had been minimised in policy decisions.
He would always be part of the Congress campaign and negotiation teams but would easily back out when a commitment was demanded by saying that he is not even a
2 Ana member of congress. After the failure of 1945 talks, he was only kept as a figure for public consumption. Nehru and Patel duo had gained full control of congress policy making.
In order to understand the past of Gandhi, read the book Jinah by Jaswant Singh.
He states that Gandhi was part of the British war campaign while he was in South Africa. His arrival in India actually delayed the slef rule of India and he was the one who initiated the split in congress on the basis of Hindu majority based decision making that ultimately led Jinah, the ambassador of Hindu Muslim Unity to part ways with Congress.
Fantastic. It's always good to see Islamic people denounce Gandhi. The man fully deserved that. And all those fakers in India who claim to follow Gandhi or his ideology are the biggest curse upon Indian people.
I also call him a fraud . Only difference is that he let Hindus die in Noakhali and Bangladesh but he saved Muslims in Calcutta .
