▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ENGLISH ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States. The lyrics come from the Defence of Fort M'Henry, a poem written on September 14, 1814, by the then 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbour during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the large U.S. flag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the U.S. victory.
The poem was set to the tune of a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men's social club in London. "To Anacreon in Heaven" (or "The Anacreontic Song"), with various lyrics, was already popular in the United States. Set to Key's poem and renamed "The Star-Spangled Banner", it soon became a well-known U.S. patriotic song. With a range of 19 semitones, it is known for being very difficult to sing. Although the poem has four stanzas, only the first is commonly sung today.
Brings a tear to my eyes. What's heartbreaking about this is that the Alexandrov Ensemble, formerly known as the Red Army Choir sang this as a gesture of respect and good will to us, and when the plane carrying many of them crashed and killed many of them in 2016, people here just lauded over their deaths, all because they were Russian.
and even they returned it's not the same anymore😢
That’s tragic man.
They died... That's sad RIP
Damn, I didn’t know that happened. May they rest in peace.
I never heard what happened, the damned media probably ignored that tragedy. RIP

What an honor that our biggest enemy sang our national anthem for us. That's respect right there
Red Army Choir is a band
Absolutely
and managed to play it 5x better than the US plays their own anthem
I'm not sure our biggest enemy isn't within our own borders.
We are not your enemy, and we never have been.
We were your first and for a long time only friend as you fought heroically against feudalistic oppression in the 18th century.
When your country fell into civil war, it was Russia who sent her Navy to rally your Union in Philadelphia, in New York, and beyond. That same Navy went southward too, to show the so-called Confederacy what a real flight awaited them should the union ask.
For reference, the USA invaded Russia on the side of the decidedly capitulated Whites during the Russian civil war.
Together the USSR and the United States eliminated disease after disease from the world
We went to the cosmos
We went to the depths of the seas
We are not your enemy.

Lovely rendition of our anthem. This is NOT an easy song to sing, but these experts do a great job. Hoping we can go forward as allies again!

In my opinion they use this for sport on when singing the anthem rather than celebrities singing it.
I don’t think it was sung to mock the Americans I think it was sung to lessen Cold War Tensions.
hopefully one day Russia and the United States can put aside our differences and be friends
The problem with that is the United States needs oil, so that's probably not going to happen for a while 😔
This when the Soviets wanted peace with Americans and Americans wanted peace with Soviets
Better than having some lady sing it at a ballgame.
Whitney Houston nailed it.

How humiliating is it that your biggest enemy sings your anthem but 100x better than you
Not as humiliating as you being a wannabe communist account
They might be your enemy but they are the enemy of honour and know how to show respect. I think nowadays people are more disrespectful than they were. And it's even funnier how they fight for anyone's rights and trying to respect eachother but the amount of hatred only grows.

"We were allies and fought together, and we need to save the future, and the present world together"
Long after this invasion is over, I hope one day, Russia will get a much more competent and peaceful leader, and us americans can show forgiveness to their people.
Yes, Long live America and Da zdravstvuyet Rossiya!
God bless America and long live (Free) Russia.
The invasion is hardly the fault of the Russian people, but of course, who kept electing their leaders? But we in the US and West are also partial to blame as well for their government's increasingly bullish attitude. For the past 25 some odd years, we've steadily shown more and more contempt towards the country, and even butted them out when they tried to join NATO and the EU, and both continued to grow while Russia was cut out of a lot of things. The alliance once meant to fight the now extinct Warsaw Pact continues to grow, doctrines remain the same, and they're driven into their own corner. Of course, this in no way justifies what Putin and his rabid gorillas are doing in Ukraine.
We'd be the same way if NATO dissolved at the end of the cold war, and former NATO allies signed on with the Warsaw pact instead, cutting us out of world affairs, before eventually Canada and Mexico joined them - and then we'd have adversaries with a doctrine to bulldoze us sitting on our northern and southern borders. Strategically, it'd be unacceptable and make us absolutely paranoid.
In a nutshell, our former adversary buried their hatchet, but we clung to ours. If anything, we have a lot we need to be forgiven for too before there can really be peace between us again.
Excuse me? How arrogant and ignorant westerns can become. Who can blame you though? You never learned the history of other countries. Putin pulled Russia out of being an absolute shithole. So Russia doesn't need your forgiveness. It's always been America who picks fights with other countries and gets involved in their business anyways. Worry about your own country for once.

When half the people say Russia is the USA's worst enemy. They're not our closest ally but they are far from being our worst enemy.

USSA -United Socialist States of America
This unironically makes me more patriotic for my country than when Americans sing it
Russia really saved our asses in the Revolutionary War against Brittain. They were our number one supporter. The US and Russia, for a long time had a strong alliance. Unfortunately, my country didn't help them out when they were facing the bulscviks. We failed Russia. They were there for us in our time of need, but we didn't repay the favor. I still love Russia.
You’re understanding of history is laughable. The Russian Empire did nothing for the thirteen colonies. The only Europeans who aided us were the Spanish, the Dutch, and most of all the French.
@@softdrink-0He's an obvious Russophile, what'd you expect?
