I was living in damp and mould conditions years ago, I got my local MP involved who then got in touch with the armed forces minister. I had a letter back saying that the Covenant did not exist. So I wonder whom is lying here? I cannot even get help from the local housing association that I am with and even though Doctors say that they will put us first. I have been in line for the Doctors, and two immigrants in front of me, both of which were offered an appointment within a week, one said I need urgent sick note, come back the same night. I thought that I would be given his appointment for a week's time, oh no I had to wait a month.
This popped up on my feed presumably because i googled the armed forces covenant. It exists, but I question its value, as the reason I was researching it is because my daughter is in the forces and regularly moving around due to training. She called her car insurer to changes address.....£57 for an address change. That's Admiral, and they are signed up to the covenant, so I question its value
What is it? It's where Employers, Councils and Government et al can give each other a reach around and a slap on the back, whilst posturing and looking as though they are doing something substantive.
