Kinda novel to find a mechanic that actually takes pride enough to know what they’re doing, and give a legitimate diagnosis versus just being a parts changer…

You should’ve interviewed that brother with the fro. As a black man there’s a lot of us black race fans I’m a black race fan from NYC LOVED RACING MY WHOLE LIFE. ITS KINDA like how we got excited to see a black president or black hockey players, it’s dope to see someone that looks like you in a place that you don’t see many people that look like you. Gives me hope. My boy slawdog from the old 24 team was a major influence on me growin [up

Don’t know if you’ll see this in time before you take your truck to the shop. But any driver that runs a Cummins ISX or X15, it’s a good idea to do an EGR Tune Up which helps keep the EGR / Regen & Turbo running longer. There’s a guy on YT that has a video that breaks it down as to what, how, and why you need to do an EGR Tune Up on these new emissions motors. The IMAP & Delta P sensor are 2 that need to be changed and / or maintained as well as the cross over tube and some other components that should be cleaned based on mileage. Anyway, the guy on YT that has that video and breaks it all down is Rawze. 👍🏾

Back in 1995 I took a break from road driving to work at a major Freightliner dealership. In the month of May it was common for a few IndyCar haulers to come in for service prior to the big event. I had team Penske with their COE (the chrome and black one) roll into the write-up service bay and the dash was going nuts with all the bells and alarms going off and idiot lights lit up like a Christmas tree. I've been trucking for 37-years and turning wrenches and never seen another truck like that one before or since. In the end after many hours in the shop, loose power cables. The Detroit Diesel 60 series was a great engine but all those sensors and the ECM rely on clean / intact wires and cables. When sensor codes randomly popup for no reason especially on newer equipment, start at the battery box first and work your way to the engine compartment to ensure all electrical connections are good (battery box, starter, relay, and alternator). Only after electrical system is verified do you hook up computer to truck to diagnose sensor failures if code persists. This method saved me many thousands of dollars in all the years I owned trucks. I recently sold my trucking equipment, moved south and now drive dumptrucks in Nashville to finish out my last few years left to work.
