Panchiko in the studio be like: 'Yeah man that was one of the most beautiful and most futuristic songs ever lets forget that we ever made this and make someone find a CD of it in a charity shop and post it on some website call 4chan and drop the song on streaming services 20 years later.'
You made a good point at the end there about milking. That's a gripe I've had for a while, and I haven't seen any other reviewers mention it. They've REALLY milked the Deathmetal hype for long enough. They're one of the most fortunate bands in history to become such an internet phenomenon after releasing just 30 CDs in 2000, so I think they kind of owe it to the fans to make something new. LUCKILY, they're FINALLY making a brand new album called "Failed at Math(s)", and they just released the title track yesterday, and I think it's amazing. It's a lot more well produced and accessible, and I think it addresses some of your criticisms of the old works. They're a fascinating band, but their music isn't amazing or anything. Not bad, but not incredible either. They've got a certain charm and ambiance that is appealing, but on the other hand, they can sound bland and repetitive at times. So I hope the new album is an improvement!
I mean I get it. A project you abandoned a decade ago gets popular and to keep your newly acquired, out of nowhere, fans satisfied while you figure out what to do, you make some remixes and throw some other old material out there and see how they respond. I think at one point they weren't gonna make new music under Panchiko so as a thanks they did that but I think the reception is what lead to Failed at Math(s) to be made in the first place so maybe a necessary evil to test the waters.
Another thing to rememeber is that the band themselves hadn't thought about these songs in so long and were naturally having fun playing around with them even getting a few of their friends involved.
Great video, was looking for more info on them since it got recommended to me through spotify. I like both versions they released of death metal. Surprised you think stabilizers is not good. My favorite song off of it is Laputa_Rot
Not as easy as it looks, is it Luke?
All jokes aside, great video!
But also “PukeOnDemand.”

Ferric oxide is far superior than Deathmetal
I actually haven’t found the time to listen to all of Ferric Oxide yet. From what I’ve heard it’s awesome
