Cavan did an amazing job on The Inbetweeners, that’s how I know the actor. It’s funny, he is so different from the character he played but he has quite a few mannerisms, in terms of body language, that reminds me of the show.

We should not need the ending to be spelled out precisely. There are different interpretations and that's OK. I see a thread which shows Simon has lost everything including his house and wellbeing and self confidence. The riding of metro train (all night) represents the loss.

I reckon it was cause he was scared of what terry was going to do to his house and when he expression his fears to the police about that notion they discarded it and didn’t seem to wanna help

He is a great filmmaker but has trouble with endings. The films all have Soprano type inconclusive endings. Films are stories and stories demand resolution.
