My thoughts with the new "Wirefall"-like gimmick with your mount is that you hear them whistle for it BEFORE they get hit, so rather than being a button you press the second you get hit to recover, you'll need to preemptively call your Seikret to you if you think you'll get hit, which feels more skill based imo! That way if you're overconfident and don't think you'll get hit but do, you still have to suffer a full knockdown, but if you're overly cautious and don't actually get hit after calling then you will mount your Seikret when it may not be useful to you
Plus, the mount does not pick you up until you are on the floor, well after you are hit. I wonder if you will have I-frames during the mounting and riding animation. I hope not, it’d be a cool way to balance it. Giving a choice between a faster, more mobile recovery that you can get hit out of vs. staying on the ground for that sweet sweet grounded invulnerability

I saw a post on Reddit on how the Forbidden lands could be set on the same contingent as the 2nd Gen Tower and Great Forest. If it were, do you think merging the two maps together could work? I think having both would be cool if it Wilds is set in the same area. But I’m partial either way.
I have to bemoan the choice of procedural volumetric clouds over the handcrafted skies found in all previous entries... World's skies were beautiful and even at low res the same goes for all of them!
Yeah, personally, procedural volumetric clouds use up system resources that I'd rather be used elsewhere, or just freed for slightly better performance. Still they do look beautiful.
I can't believe they called it the Forbidden Lands, I've been playing Eureka in ffxiv for the last week so I end up calling it the Forbidden Lands, Eureka since they share the same name
I really hope there are more than 3 maps. I’d love to see more of the older / really older monsters come back. Also, never played MH4 or any of the 3DS games so I’m excited to see any influence from that.
For the love of all things holy, please do not make the baby versions of monsters killable 😂. Maybe we can like pluck a feather or something, but I don’t want to be skinning these baby killing machines.
@@jimjammh Pre-Gen 5 it was mainly 4 player lobbies which took place in a special online hub area. It made it so you’d end up playing with the same small group for hours at a time; meaning you’d all get to know each other, what each person is going to bring to the hunt, what they’re farming, along with taking turns helping in each other’s quests of course. Although Gen 5 has lobbies, they aren’t really used much in comparison to SOS. It wouldn’t be uncommon for me to join a Gen 5 lobby and see the host use an SOS anyway. I wouldn’t call random people hopping into your quest for 10 minutes only to disappear after it’s done to be a very social experience.

Is there something about the wasteland looking environment on top of the storms and spontaneous changes that makes anyone else think of Merphistophelin from MHOnline? Even after getting a Frontier monster it seems like a pipe dream but I don't know the barren wasteland just gives me that vibe.
I'm so hyped for everything that they've shown I don't like the english voice acting for Felyne tho. It sounds like paimon in a fursuit. Gaijinn hunter shown the japanese version of the voice line on his vid and it sounded way better.
I am tentatively excited about this. There is so much good about this, from the slowing of combat and adding weight to the weapons to how awesome the small monsters interact with other monsters. However, there are a few things I'm really concerned about and I know it's all personal opinions: 1) I don't care about a kid in a Monster Hunter game. That part of the story is going to be annoying for me. 2) cats talking with human voices? NO!!!! Please let there be an option to not let that happen. But overall, this looks great. It's actually changing my mind of what kind of feel I would want in a monster hunter game. I've been attached to the first couple games with the prehistoric feel where everything felt so desolate and just a challenge to survive. But somehow this Final Fantasy feel of Dundorma is giving me hope because FFXII and FF Tactics actually pulled off that desert theme exceptionally well.
The website outright confirms that Gemma is the game's Smithy. It really seems like she's straight up Little Miss Forge. Also, Alma's got a lot more "Monster Hunter" in her design than it seems at first glance. She's wearing four seperate layers; a base shirt, a leather jerkin (which you can see as the sleeve of her jacket is rolled up), then a hooded light jacket (which may be sleeveless), and finally the outer jacket (which might be Guild-issued, because there are embossed designs on the jacket that match part of the armor that the Hunter is wearing.) Also the Admiral-looking dude might be straight up Ace Lancer from 4U. Same hairstyle, only difference is some more grey hair. Guy even has a yellow scarf which is a nice visual touch (like Ace Lancer's golden armor).
@@just_a_guy9688if they bring back Blangonga I want to be able to do that. This would be the ultimate moment where the games have gotten 1/1 with the cinematic trailers.
I was digging it until they showed the combat. I HOPE it's balanced enough to where we don't get 100 different opportunities to get free damage on the monster and they can actually fight back. We'll need to see more, but as of now I'm mixed on Wilds.
We still dont know that its not open world. I think the japanese blog might had said something about there being no loading screens, but Im not sure as I dont speak japanese.
That implies no such thing. There is nothing saying that the states of each locale couldn’t change individually. I don’t particularly care if it is or isn’t open world. But if we’re keeping things factual, we don’t know that either will be the case yet. At least, until a native speaker confirms or denies what is said in the japanese blog, but I suspect it is a bit vague too.
@@-lijosu- No, they would want to advertise the fact it's open world. If they aren't telling us it is, then it's more likely it's not because an open world would require them to completely redesign the gameplay loop
I would rather see old enemies in their respective old maps. I would love to explore the Forest & Hills remade in this format, it’s been a big wish for me for a while. Also, I do think they might get rid of Quests. It sounds really weird and scary at first but after playing the Carnivores games (they’re dinosaur hunting games) I think it might work out for the better.
like the mount. like the gameplay. like wirebugs being gone. really dreading voice acting characters.... don't need them at all. feels like lost planet and monster hunter have finally joined into one game. i like the fast pace for a change, it's just that, when they move in that direction, they'll probably never move back, which is unfortunate. it seems we're really far removed from farming in our poke village.
I really hope the monhun language option reverts the palicos back to just meows. I'd rather not have a marketable mascot voice yelling at me 24/7. Also for god's sake, the wirefall was the main thing I never wanted to return from Rise. The only way to balance it is to remove it.
@@CuriosityMisledMe yeah the moonster hunter language was a nice option in rise. in theory i like wirebugs, i just thought it wasn’t implemented well, and i’m not ready for it to be a core mechanic.
@@o_oo_o1812 Wirebugs in general gave too much power to the player. It also seeped into the realm of magic, which Monster Hunter has always purposefully steered clear of. As for Monster Hunter language; it always existed as the spoken language up until gen 5, where they included proper voice acting in different languages. Both games from gen 5 at least had Monster Hunter language as an option, so I'm assuming gen 6 will have the same.
Yeah, I noticed this too. They complained about all the broken things the mount could do in Rise, but when this mount does the exact same thing, or something even more broken(like that wirefall substitute thing), they're all okay with it. Also the Greatsword parry is also being called 'so cool' by them. I guess the only thing that does matter to them is graphics, huh?
@@trombonegamer14 respectfully, your smoking something if you didn't feel the pull of immersion in the ancient forest more than any other map. even though I think realism fits monster hunter really well I'm not the biggest fan of the more generic looking character designs. same thing they did with dmc and all the resident evil games since 2017 now that they use the RE engine for everything. I also wonder if the palico is gonna stick out more now that the characters aren't really stylized anymore. at least all of this won't matter after the initial story playthrough and when we have all of our gear and helmets on. everything else looks fantastic
I agree. These characters barely look MonHan to me. Also the tribal and ethnic design from the series characters and music seems to be almost completely gone now. It's too futuristic for me. I'm sooo sad because the gameplay looks mind blowing. But I just don't _feel_ "Monster Hunter" when I look at it.
To be fair, i felt a certain mixed feeling about the human characters but i think it was just adjusting to something new, they look pretty good. Although the handler with her circle framed glasses does male her look like she’s just left her local starbucks and is on her way to her humanitarian related job or something. We can’t exactly say what the overall theme of the character designs are from a couple of characters, not every game has to feature primarily tribal theming either, i mean, monster hunter 4, a game that gets evoked a surprising amount from this trailer, was probably the least tribal of them all, yet it was still distinctly monster hunter in it’s own way. Each generation should have their own distinct flavour and vibe and tbh, still far too early to say with this one.
@@jaydensimpson3 I thought 4U did the tribal, or at least ethnic, aspects really well. It introduced us to some more civillised areas with bigger populations but the costume design, music and cities still retained that simple, tribal feel. The technology still felt like MonHan. Rise came along with its gattling guns and lazer turrets and now this. This is far too modern, it doesnt look like MonHan, it looks like a spin off. The "handler" is exactly how you describer her, straight out of Starbucks and I hate it. It feels like its catering to fandom.
@@YouMystMe yeah i agree 4u did do it well, game had great art direction, i just mean it’s not as tribal as like, yukumo village or something. I’m not really gonna claim anything about this game off of such little footage. I think a lot of what we see evokes 4 in some ways. Theyre still using the same sandships and whatnot so i have little concern about the grounded nature of this game. I thought I don’t care these things either until I play rise. Good believable environment is always plus even if you aren’t actively looking for them. You don’t need to be a diehard fan of something in order to to appreciate it.
I wasn't honestly too impressed with the trailer. Maybe it's because everything is in a muted brownish color pallette for the most part. I do like what I'm seeing with the general gameplay mechanics, with mounting, mounted ranged combat, and weapon switching from your mount in particular.
@@marmyeater I understand that. The game Journey starts you in a desert, but maybe it's more owed to its stylization that I didn't find the starting desert area of that game to be so bland. I don't know.
I'll have to wait for more news next week but to me I wasn't that impressed or hyped by the trailer. Think Rise/Sunbreak killed MH for me. I viewed this trailer with mostly disinterested indifference. Only parts I liked is all the small monsters and I like their designs. I didn't have a sign of relief. I got worried even more because its clear this game will likely be the end of MH for me unless they show something interesting and there's some stuff already I'm not liking. Rise/Sunbreak are my least liked games and I liked every MH game starting with MH1. I even liked MHW in parts.

@@nuke2099Same, I'm sad because the environments and ecology aspects look brilliant, but I'll have to see more. So far the voiced main character, story focus and entirely modern character design is just 0/10 "Monster Hunter points" for me. I fell in love with the tribal, ethnic design of the past games. This looks like some DMC5 generic fantasy game (in terms of characters and outfits).
I have information. It's not just a cut scene or a border. It's open world 100%. It's a 1000 times bigger than what you see. A ton of bottoms. And it's only one map. The open world's twice the size of world It's bigger than all the areas combined in world.
Not gonna lie, I am massively disappointed. The game becomes more and more western, characters are talking cringe, the freakin palico is speaking human language, and worst of all the mount can be used in combat and the slinger is back which opens the door for the clutch claw. For me, Wilds is dead. Now our only hope is Nintendo to curate the next portable game.
It's just over man, monster hunter simply is not for people like us anymore. I hated vanilla world and thought iceborne and rise were only okay, Wilds is taking the ideas i liked the least from those two and ploping them in. Its just fucking over.

I like how you say they're not going full genshin when the cat's voice is literally just paimon
Let’s gooo the Lancer is back!!!
2025 might be one of the best years for gaming
You were right with the second pronunciation of Seikret, if you don't believe me just watch the dev interview.
YO THE LANCER IS BACK? hell yeah!
Funny how at this point Capcom has made two blacksmiths in a row referencing MH4
"there is no way they wont make hr difficult"
*laughs in rise*
For the love of all things holy, please do not make the baby versions of monsters killable 😂. Maybe we can like pluck a feather or something, but I don’t want to be skinning these baby killing machines.
As long as clutch claw doesn't exist in it. It will be a great monhun game.
I'm equally wary of the SoS returning. It made gen 5 feel a lot less social.
I think I'm going to actively choose to join hubs with what i want, maybe only sos if I'm in trouble
@@CuriosityMisledMewait what do you mean how did it work in the old games? I like joining hunts in world, feels like I’m helping people out
@@jimjammh Pre-Gen 5 it was mainly 4 player lobbies which took place in a special online hub area.
I think about 15 hours after the trailer dropped is not late to teh party
We are so back
The amphibians are getting more love!!
I love all the monster and environment interactions, and the herds and I super hope there is a big focus on separating the “alpha” from the pack… and also… I really really hope we see leviathans…. And maybe a new weapon or two xD regardless I’m so excited, and apparently we are getting a new trailer next week… capcom is on fire
Edit:
What if one of the maps is like a swamp land… that experiences torrential rain… and ends up flooded… and they add swimming back xD…. Too much cope?
Too much cope... but hand me the copium tube I wanna huff some more with you.
Is there something about the wasteland looking environment on top of the storms and spontaneous changes that makes anyone else think of Merphistophelin from MHOnline?
Even after getting a Frontier monster it seems like a pipe dream but I don't know the barren wasteland just gives me that vibe.
Merphistophelin isn't a capcom monster. It belongs to Tencent.
Ok the palicos speaking English is going to take some getting used to. I always thought it was a Chewbacca situation.
You don't know Navirou?
@@sakuranohana1014 I’ve only played World, and a bit of Rise.
I thought
they mentioned somewhere that this is the new world.
19:04- Of course, GS users never miss unless they want to, and trailers have a mandatory quota of characters getting hit to fill.

New handler looks like Mia K
Put the meat down unc💀
Bruh, I can't unsee this..
I'm so hyped for everything that they've shown
I don't like the english voice acting for Felyne tho. It sounds like paimon in a fursuit. Gaijinn hunter shown the japanese version of the voice line on his vid and it sounded way better.
This game is looking good. I hope it runs on my steam deck.
I wouldn’t be surprised, it’s the RE Engine and RE4 ran great
I am tentatively excited about this. There is so much good about this, from the slowing of combat and adding weight to the weapons to how awesome the small monsters interact with other monsters. However, there are a few things I'm really concerned about and I know it's all personal opinions:
1) I don't care about a kid in a Monster Hunter game.
She's wearing four seperate layers; a base shirt, a leather jerkin (which you can see as the sleeve of her jacket is rolled up), then a hooded light jacket (which may be sleeveless), and finally the outer jacket (which might be Guild-issued, because there are embossed designs on the jacket that match part of the armor that the Hunter is wearing.)
Also the Admiral-looking dude might be straight up Ace Lancer from 4U. Same hairstyle, only difference is some more grey hair. Guy even has a yellow scarf which is a nice visual touch (like Ace Lancer's golden armor).
Putting the sword in the mouth. Feels like the game is going even harder into the hack and slash angle
Ya know how MH Dos' intro got a hunter blocking a Blangonga with a GS? This is that now.
They were probably just showing us low rank combat.
I love ace lancer
Hopefully we get velocidrome and prey
“Late to the party” brother it has been one day
Deviljho frog (Chatacabra) is best new monster.
Monster Hunter World a sequel to 4?
30 minutes damn
We still dont know that its not open world. I think the japanese blog might had said something about there being no loading screens, but Im not sure as I dont speak japanese.
The website says that each hunting locals have multiple states which implies that it's world/rise type open zone maps not open world.
@@-lijosu- The wording is the exact same as when talking about the world/rise type separate maps.
It very much does imply that it's not open world
@@elk3407 Sounds like you're reading too far between the lines. There's no reason why they wouldn't use the same wording even if it was open world.
@@-lijosu- No, they would want to advertise the fact it's open world. If they aren't telling us it is, then it's more likely it's not because an open world would require them to completely redesign the gameplay loop
What if she really is Little Miss Forge??? Nah, I am just hallucinating.
Please let us have 3rd gen Rathalos armor this time Capcom 🙏
One can only pray
Both games from gen 5 at least had Monster Hunter language as an option, so I'm assuming gen 6 will have the same.
love how everything fivers hated in rise is now being praised in this game just bc they think this is world2
YUUUUP, I’ve noticed that shit too. Actually hilarious to watch happen
It's always been like this lol
I'm already planning my first playthrough to be a no-mount run. And every playthrough after that.
It really was all console war dogma
I think world has the best maps in the series and it's not even close, I hope that this game makes them better, not just larger
Lol, I often say world has the worst maps in the series and it's not even close
@@trombonegamer14 respectfully, your smoking something if you didn't feel the pull of immersion in the ancient forest more than any other map. It has the magic feel that you would feel if you were standing there in person, as opposed to the bland playground of the rise maps or the good, but old school maps of the past that aren't full of ecology and have loading zones that break immersion once you are older.
@@joe_the_zombieImmersion is good for the first 5 times, but when the monster runs away to the other side of the map on your tenth farming session for the rare drop, it's annoying af.
@joe_the_zombie I just like the gameplay of monster hunter. I've never been particularly immersed by them, and world was very pretty, but it annoyed me a lot more than it wowed me
@@masterhind2036 Animals do that all the time. Once they deem the effort of standing their ground to not be worth the energy, they will retreat. If you want to fight rather than hunt, there are arena quests. If you don't want to do those, it's your job as a hunter to plan ways to stop the monster from retreating.
Keep hyping shit up, and praising em. So they take all of yall pre-orders and drop a nuclear battle pass on ya ass on release 😂😂
4:58 fully disagree. It cool that the felines have there own culture, language, fighting style, roles in the guild and hunting society. To make them speak just regular English with so cat puns just feels like there dumbing it down. In stories it was fine since there where spin off and special occasion.
I hope i can change there voice to there original language if they vocied it, if not im muting there annoying ass immediately
I forgot they had a voiced palco in the Legends of the guild
even though I think realism fits monster hunter really well I'm not the biggest fan of the more generic looking character designs. same thing they did with dmc and all the resident evil games since 2017 now that they use the RE engine for everything.
Yeah I agree, handler looks like a FF character, not a MH character. But maybe I’ll change my mind idk.
Rise (and really most portable games) tend to err on the side of the fantastical and thats totally chill. Having multiple ways to enjoy a franchise is what make’s monster hunter such a good one (their actual spin-offs are pre good too, enjoyed stories)
Dude stop being a coward. These ARE little miss forge and the ace lancer! and Nata is looking for his mom the ace gunner!!! And also Alma is related to Sophia!
hunting...not boss battle.
If I’m being honest, I don’t care about the environment. I want to have fun fighting and progressing my gear. If that’s boring, we’re gonna have another rise/world scenario
Muted colors tend to happen in deserts and savannas. The other areas will likely be more colorful.
Wow. If u only liked parts of world & didn't like rise/sunbreak at all, looks like its already over for u dude.
@@cklambo I prefer pre-World but that's never coming back. I just have concerns. You're welcome to lap up everything if you love it though but this trailer didn't exactly wow me. I basically shrugged at the end.
You better stick with the old games or move on to other games.
You better stick with the old games or move on to other games.
I have information. It's not just a cut scene or a border. It's open world 100%. It's a 1000 times bigger than what you see. A ton of bottoms. And it's only one map. The open world's twice the size of world It's bigger than all the areas combined in world.
Might wanna check your info or just read the monster hunter website description
@@itsyaboiguzma pretty sure the website doesn't confirm or deny anything.
