    To the people that are saying “Saints fans, you lost. Get over it.”...Get over it, you say? Well, let me explain why we aren’t. The NFL is the same NFL that orchestrated a witch-hunt in the way of Bountygate to try and rectify their concussion situation through a campaign to show the NFL cares about injuries. After the appeal, players won with backing of the NFLPA. Tagliabue came in to judge the appeal, he overruled Goodell’s ruling, and the players were able to play. Meanwhile, even though our players were proven innocent in the appeal, Goodell still upheld the suspension he cast upon Sean Payton. So, we had a coach suspended over a year for something that didn’t exist. However, before that, this is the same NFL that sent cease and desist letters to local New Orleans businesses for using the phrase “Who Dat” on custom T-shirt’s. The NFL, wanting to cash in on the Saints success, tried to claim ownership to a phrase that they cared nothing about prior. The NFL came at innocent businesses and tried to bully their way around. It didn’t work. They failed. The NFL didn’t own the phrase “Who Dat”. Now, here we are. The Saints had a Super Bowl berth taken from them by the same NFL that allowed two Los Angeles residing officials to officiate the Los Angeles Rams game in New Orleans where the most obvious pass interference call wasn’t called....and you want us to get over it?...Not happening.

Guess what every last one of them would say if they went to dinner, and the waitress made many mistakes, and the cooks burnt their food. But the manager said to them, "hey!! What pisses me off is that during regular season they called pass interference if you even breathe on a receiver, but then they get to the most critical games of the year and they decide they’re not going to call them, if its a rule its a rule, there shouldn’t be a difference from regular season vs playoffs, thats not how rule enforcement is supposed to be. Refs just didn’t want to make a call and be in the spotlight, but they picked such a blatant infraction not to throw a flag. Peoples lives and fortunes are impacted by such an egregious non-call. Richard...Your points make sense. Mike P. is obviously skipping some real reasons why time of games is so important. I think it has to do with the business side of the nfl. Sunday is the biggest day for viewership. Televised games start at noon (central time) and end at around 10:30 pm. That's 3 full games. Advertising money is critical. If one noon game overlaps the next scheduled game too often, advertisers lose millions of viewers. If Mike P. and many other well paid sports "analysts" told the whole truth, it would wake up fans about the business greed factor in professional sports that they always prefer to stay away from as much as possible. Notice that nobody has mentioned what I just mentioned. That makes my comment harder to believe! Secrets are secrets for a reason. If people think we are being told the whole truth, they don't know how many secrets there are that most consumers are not educated on as they spend their money.

      Narrow minds are similar to driving a car while looking through a narrow 3by3 inch windshield, but not knowing it. You will have to drive so slow, and can only see so little. To keep having an open mind absolutely requires looking at issues with perspective. Acquiring perspective requires putting in the research time. But it's actually fun to keep learning. Anyone can buy a bigger windshield for a car. But learning how to become to more accurate (it's impossible to be perfectly right on everything)at problem solving anything cannot be simply bought.
      I still put in way more time researching so much every week. I honesty believe you are way ahead of the pack. Anyone can be an expert on one topic. A problem I see with the whole "Mahomes should get a chance" is what happens if both teams score a touchdown? Brady gets ball back on third possession and scores, we will then continue to say "Mahomes should have had another chance" and it'll go over and over since both teams had the capabilities of scoring. At the end of the day it's a team game, a team should be able to trust the defense to stop a touchdown, not even asking them to stop a field goal, just a touchdown.

      I disagree because a decision was made and it needs to stand. How would you like it if your boss decided that you are not getting the account you thought that you worked hard for and gave it to someone else.. Are you going to tell your boss that you are going to sue . You just suck it up and move on keep getting a paycheck every week. Brees is still getting his 80 million, or whatever he is getting and we’re still living from pay check to paycheck. LOL. Football is a fast moving game and decisions have to be made in a very short amount of time. There have been and will continue to be a lot of bad calls in the NFL or any sport for that matter. In overtime, each team should get a change to touch ball and the opportunity to win the game and not the team who won the toss. That's not fair. That rushing the passer call on Brady was B.S. Nobody is saying anything about that. Or the Chiefs interception TD was overturned because of some line scrimmage call. Fans lost a lot of money on that game and along with high emotions is causing this issue to get way too much attention than it deserves. That TD that Jesse James made against the Pats was ruled not a TD, and it was clearly a TD. That Jets TD was ruled not a TD. I could go on and on. What the heck a catch? At the end of the day, the Refs are given the authority to make decisions and the NFL needs to stand with the Refs. Don’t make the Refs a pawn and fire them because they have families and responsibility just like we do. Entertainment sport should not be this serious. If your team wins...congrats and if your team loses, better luck next time.

    Pereira needs to shut up. Coaches can already challenge up to 3 times per game. Allowing them to throw a challenge flag on either a called or uncalled penalty would not significantly lengthen the game. He acts like only having 1.2 challenges per game means there are only 1-2 replays per game. Every touchdown and every turnover already gets reviewed. That means that the total number of reviews in an average game, including challenges, is around 10. If coaches get to challenge penalties and non-calls that number might go from 10 up to about 12 or 13. That's going to add 5 minutes to a game that takes over 3 hours and he thinks that's more important than insuring the proper outcome?

    So its a missed call! Ok....Saints still get a field goal, and now leading 23/20 And had lead the entire game, except when it was tied, LATE....Now there is 1:40 left in the game, and the Rams kick a 57 yard field goal to tie...Isn't anyone first looking at, the Saints defense that had stifled the Rams offense most of the game, blowing it on the last drive? Then looking at the average of making a 57 yard field goal? Come on, 1 missed call, in a game where there is an average of 140 to 160 plays? I hate how they've dissected the game. That play did not stop a touchdown, yes it would have been first down, but still no one knows if the Saints still wouldn't have had to score with a field goal. Too many if's....Saints fans you need to blame your defense! Not the Ref's

    That was a terrible missed call!! They also missed a face mask on the Saints in the red zone that would have given the Rams a 1st down!! That game wasnt over on that play it went into overtime and they LOST!! GET OVER IT!!!

    I'd like to see the NFL have a full 15min overtime. Who ever is standing tops when the OT is over wins. In the postseason, at last a full 15min followed by a sudden death. Make teams defend their lead so its more of a total team effort.

  • @Danimal1577

    So there was that one blown p.i. call. Refs did not throw a yellow flag when:
    - Rams QB Jared Goff was facemasked
    - Rams WR Brandin Cooks was held
    - Rams WR Brandin Cooks was also facemasked
    - Saints player illegally chop-blocked a Rams' defender
    - Saints defensive player stomped on Rams' head/neck
    - Saints player taunted head coach Sean McVay
    - Saints QB Drew Brees didn't get the snap off in time. Delay of game
    - Saints offensive line held all game long, like they held all game long in the Week 9 Rams/Saints game.
    The Goff facemask penalty would have put the Rams at the goal line, down 3 points with a 1st Down. Rams would've been up 4 points with less than 5 minutes left after punching it in for a TD.
    Funny how the media chooses to obsess over one thing and ignore everything else.

    I don't disagree with either guy's argument overall, but I would have to disagree with Rich's point that the fan's would need a human element still in place on controversial/challengeable plays. I think most fans just want to see the call be right, that's the main issue here. Secondly, just because a coach throws a red flag on the field doesn't mean that we see who is in Secaucus, New Jersey analyzing these replays, so we are already WAY past the point of having a human being visible to the fans on challenges, not to mention the fact that under 2 minutes the booth can review all scoring and out of bounds plays. Overall, I think a happy medium here would be to make ALL plays/calls under 2 minutes reviewable, so maybe giving the coach an 'Under 2-minute Bonus Challenge', since those are the most crucial times of each half. Just my take on it

    There is a philosophy in the NFL that has totally embraced the offense. There are so many holds by the offensive linemen that are nor called, it's ridiculous.
    Same with receivers pushing off D backs which the Steelers have turned into an art form. Pick plays have gotten ridiculous.
    Personally, I believe it's taken away from the competitive nature of the game. Defenses are helpless. You can only compete when the athleticism is allowed to manifest itself equally and that is not the case right now.

      Suspend him FOR WHAT??? You don't suspend players for ref no-calls!!! The player caused a penalty. He did not committ a crime. It is football. Penalties happen all the time in football. It is up to the refs to call most of the infractions, not all of them. Human error happens!

    For most of us life long Saints fans, we can take a loss. However, we are curious to know why the refs did not make the obvious calls. What were their reasons? Was there bias or corruption in this case? The NFL needs to address these questions.

  • @bobcarter4343

    Remember when games were fun to watch without constant replays. You saw most plays once, not the constant replaying of even the most boring plays. Back in the day, would see a play that was exceptional or contested a second time, not every play. Today's announcers seem compelled to evaluate and discuss the most mundane plays like were listening on the radio vs. on TV. Too much talk with too little insight is so tedious. And the endless commercials are so distracting. Thank God we have DVR's and can selective edit out watching. Contested calls are so time consuming & stop the momentum of the game. I like Eisen's plan.

  • @Mileygoo
    @Mileygoo 5 лет назад

    You are more worried about making the game 3 minutes longer than getting the call right??? Adding an 8th official will not help. Pereira himself admitted that 3 officials blew this call (10:46), don't need another set of blind eyes to miss it. Give the coach the option to challenge. In the end you get the call right and the NFL gets to avoid this type of embarrassment in the future.

  • @palstoddard569
    @palstoddard569 5 лет назад

    They don't need a recall. They saw the play. They looked right at in and still did not make the call. They need to fire refs, not change the rules every time something happens. Also, they need to investigate refs to see if there was any reason they decided not to make the most obvious call on the planet.

    Reviewing every play will NOT extend the game! EVERY PLAY CURRENTLY in the NFL is replayed immediately following the down. Both in the stadiums as well as on TV, we all watch them. This is ALREADY occurring!! Furthermore, games are HELD UP currently for TV commercials to complete, EXTENDING the game today more than it needs to be. Finally, not EVERY PLAY has a controversial play that needs any extensive review. This time is ALREADY BUILT INTO THE GAME!!! This game extension argument is BS!!!

    Coaches should be allowed challenges under 2 mins and get 1 referee challenge flag where they can challenge any call in the game. Also once the play clock hits 15 seconds it should be on the QB to call a TO not the coach
