When I left the UPC, it was with a lot of fear and trembling, but I knew God was leading me so I said to him how do I think about the Trinity? How do I understand that and he answered me so clearly in my heart, and he said with a smile and a chuckle… And a wink to me he said
No one understands it it's OK
And I knew that he meant I was safe. I didn't have to be afraid leaving the UPC and that he was with me and I also knew that meant that they (the UPC people) didn't understand it either. I was free to love God and let other people in to the kingdom. I didn't have to be afraid to wear pants. Or trim my hair or wear a little make up a little jewelry no lightning struck me and now I walked with him for 41 years and he's dearer to me than ever.

I'm a Oneness Pentecostal and I don't see anything wrong with this conversation. They are sharing their experiences and being honest about what they saw in the Oneness Apostolic Church. I admire the fact that you guys are open to sharing both the good and the bad of your experiences. I'm glad that this conversation has taken place because like it or not, the UPCI has been going through a great deal of exposure lately. Many are leaving due to doctrinal differences, spiritual abuse, sexual abuse by leadership, etc. Although I still attend a Oneness Church, we should not bash these two guys because they tell us the truth about the Oneness Apostolic movement. If you are UPCI and you are offended by this discussion, then you are not willing to let the truth have it's day. Don't criticize these two for sharing their experiences, they are bold enough to hold the UPCI accountable. Thank you guys for being so vulnerable and transparent. All Oneness Apostolics are not bad people, there are very sincere people as well. But thank you for talking about this. God bless.

As one of Cory’s former youth group students. He is a great person. Thank you Cory, for having the difficult conversations. I was raised in it. Every man in my family is a pastor or a preacher. I have been able to break free. I’m blessed that my family is very loving and accepting of me. It breaks my heart that people are losing their families over just being true to themselves. But I have seen it first hand, it is a very real thing, especially for people in leadership roles that leave.

Thank You for sharing. I have a very similar story to yalls. Grew up UPC and while I am thankful for it, I wouldn't ever go back. Many of us were "saved" by being dangled over hell. Fear is what pushed us into relationship with God. However, fear could not hold us in it. That is why we see so many of the sons and daughters walk away and never return. John said it best, God is Love, and perfect love cast out fear, bc fear carries with it the threat of punishment. Also why Jesus preached against Religion so strongly. Shoot the prodigal son story is a direct rebuttal to Deuteronomy 21and the rebellious son. Unfortunately I have found very few people who can sit and have a discussion about these things. Hence why repentance is so hard, bc after all it doesn't mean to turn and go in the opposite direction, it means to change the way you think. Keep up the great work Steven

While I don't agree doctrinely with what y'all are believing and in all honesty believe you have been deceived, I can appreciate the fact that neither of you bashed the Apostolics. At least I didn't preceive it that way. I have several friends in the church that Corey left. I can appreciate the fact that if he felt he and his wife could no longer live what was being taught, even though I believe that's the only way of salvation, they did what they felt was best for them. His former pastor and my Dad are great friends. I pray one day Pastor Corey and Steven will come back to full truth.

This interview lacks context, and proper defense of the truth of the word of God. You have cherry picked one or two verses out of the New Testament and said that you know truth based on one or two. I would challenge you to speak to a Oneness Pentecostal. I’m open to this, and there are many leaders in the UPCI movement that would love to have this conversation in a respectful, loving way. We love you, brothers. Eternity is too important to short change or to not have a long form discussion about.

Raised UPCI and everything you are saying is correct. When I actually read the Bible I couldn’t believe how different the doctrines were from what I was reading. My pastor was the head over the state organization and I still to this day can’t tell if he taught these things because of his own confusion, or if he did it because of being high on power and greed. The Trinity was clearly what the Bible was teaching, and I had to leave. I am so thankful that the Lord brought me out! I was at the UPCI church one night and I had been seriously struggling with what I was learning from the Bible and the Lord told me I was leaving and the he would make the plan, and he surely did! Hallelujah!

Guys, your views have obviously changed. That doesn’t change the reality of where you got your start. Your effort to find salvation in the epistles or the gospels is faulty exegesis. It brings human philosophy into spiritual understanding. You will only find salvation explained and exemplified in the Acts of the Apostles. Yes, we are saved by grace through faith! Said faith is exemplified in obedience to the teachings of the Apostles, repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, and receipt of the Gift of the Holy Ghost! Obedience in no way violates faith! The Galatians had already received the normative experience of salvation by faith through obedience to the Apostles teaching in Acts.

Act 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:16 (For the Spirit had not yet come upon any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Act 10:48 So he gave orders to have them baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for several days.
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus,

I have listened to the first 10:27 of this podcast, and I am currently in the UPCI. And you can indeed tell that these are great men. But it troubles me to hear them say that the Bible goes against what we believe. For instance he said Ephesians 2:8 goes against what we believe, but he did not quote the whole verse at the end of that verse it says “it is the gift of God”. Which the gift of God is the Holy Ghost or also called the Holy Spirit. What this verse is actually saying is you are saved by God’s gift the Holy Ghost, not by faith or grace. So that verse just affirms that the Holy Ghost is a step in the plan of salvation. That is just one of them there are many more verses to back up why the UPCI believe what we believe.

Deu 6:4 Listen, Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
Isa 9:6 For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Amazing Adviser, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Zec 14:9 The LORD will then be king over all the earth. In that day the LORD will be seen as one with a single name.
Mrk 12:28 Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
Mrk 12:29 Jesus answered, “The most important is: ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Mrk 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
Mrk 12:31 The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mrk 12:32 The expert in the law said to him, “That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him.
Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God.
Jhn 1:14 Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory - the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father.
Jhn 8:24 Thus I told you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
Jhn 10:30 The Father and I are one.”
Jhn 12:45 and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me.
Jhn 14:9 Jesus replied, “Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Jhn 20:28 Thomas replied to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jhn 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are the people who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Act 20:28 Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.
Rom 9:5 To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.
1Co 8:4 With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that “an idol in this world is nothing,” and that “there is no God but one.”
Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you too were called to the one hope of your calling,
Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,
Col 2:9 For in him all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form,
Tit 2:13 as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Heb 1:8 but of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a righteous scepter is the scepter of your kingdom.
Jas 2:19 You believe that God is one; well and good. Even the demons believe that - and tremble with fear.
2Pe 1:1 From Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, have been granted a faith just as precious as ours.

Any group of people referring to themselves as the Church will never be perfect. One can always find something amiss and scrutonize it.
Paul didnt start the Church Peter and the apostles did. Jesus spent many days with the apostles before his ascension.
Did the aspostles have it wrong to baptize in Jesus name? To expect the Holy Ghost to come after repenting and being baptized? That is inaccurate?
The evidence of speaking in tongues is biblical. It didnt say gift of tongues but GIFT of the HG. Tongues is for the unbeliever and edufication in ones own prayer life.
Paul also said not to forbid speaking in tongues and that he also spake in tongues.
Im aware it doesnt say you have to speak in tongues but why not seek it? Is that wrong?
As far as the Trinity goes, it doesnt matter what you imagine or think you have scripture on to describe the throne room, if you dont have Jesus it dont matter who else you are praying too. Without him you cannot be saved.
Repentence, Baptism is ctitical (seeMark,Acts), being born again of the Spirit see John 3:6.
That is all bible, you referring to other denominations as cults is spreading division. Tell me how Christ would appreciate that in regards to unity?
Nothing easy about being a follower of Jesus. You can make your way sound as appealing as you like.
Im Upci and I only condemn those that sow division in the church. That has gone on long enough. Where is the love and unity?
I dont believe your brand is unique or the words on your sign are any better.
Modesty standards are just that, do you want men or women to come to church dressed inappropriately? For a man or woman to be a stumbling block in the house of prayer?
It is a line in the sand.

      Thank you for your input.
I’m still in a Oneness Pentecostal Church in the PNW since 1988.
However, I do have some questions now, after losing all but one of my children to the world. I’ve watched every person turn away from my adult children and one pastor to go as far as calling my sons, devils.
My adult children have done nothing to harm the church. But the church has broken my heart over this.
As a result…… the church isnt as kind to the ppl they have, only the ppl they’re trying to win / bring in.
      How authentic is that?
      Just curious
I cannot say anything at all, or question anything,
or I run the risk of being told to leave, and then I’d lose every person I’ve known for 35 years.
When I did talk about my family and the issues we’ve faced, I was told it’s because I didn’t really live for God.
      What???!!
It was a horrible slap in the face that I’ve never totally recovered from, due to the fact I’d given decades of my life for selfless service TO the church, and a decade to the school.
Our family held the standards. The end result is adult children on drugs, and one in prison, and all of them want nothing to do with the church. Heartbreaking.
This is the most I’ve ever said openly.
I hope I could hear from others who’ve faced the same things.

@@msjetta5818 I am sorry to hear that. There are many reasons a person can look at the church and get bitter. Church hurts are some the most painful. I dont know your story but I am sorry that happened to you.
I would have you revisit the story of the prodigal son. Continue to serve the Lord and try to reach your sons. One day they will "remember the bread in their fathers' house" and hopfully return. Im sure that is painful to see your kids lost to this world. I have 2 young boys myself. I do my best to steer them in the right direction and cultivate that relationship with the Lord themselves. I will also say that not every word a pastor says is annointed or even appropriate. Pastors are men too that need correction also. You can stand on the Gods' word and do that. That is the authority. Gods' word.

There is not one example of a Trinitarian baptism in the Bible but every example was done in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 2:38 ( the plan of salvation) Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48 Acts 19:5 Acts 22:16 & Romans 6:4. We are baptized into his death. Hear O Israel the Lord our God is ONE LORD! Jesus is that ONE Lord that every tongue will confess. He is the one which is, which was and which is to come, The Almighty! ...Matt 28:19 does not say to baptize in the titles F, S, HG but in the name ( singular) of the Father S, HG...well there is no other name under heaven where man can be saved but JESUS. He is the Father in creation, the Son in Redemption & the Holy Ghost in regeneration. Do the Jews who gave us our Bible and heritage believe God is a Trinity? No and God's word never says that but the doctrine of the Trinity came by way of the Council of Nicea around 325 AD and has been evolving since. Catholic Encyclopedia and Britannica states that the primitive form of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ was changed in the 2nd Century to the titles F,S,HG. The way of the Trinity leads to Rome but Oneness leads to Jerusalem where it all began in the Upper Room. God bless.

Isa 28:11 For with mocking lips and a foreign tongue he will speak to these people.
Isa 28:12 In the past he said to them, “This is where security can be found. Provide security for the one who is exhausted! This is where rest can be found.” But they refused to listen.
Isa 28:13 So the LORD’s message to them will sound like meaningless gibberish, senseless babbling, a syllable here, a syllable there. As a result, they will fall on their backsides when they try to walk, and be injured, ensnared, and captured.
    A Cornerstone in Zion
Isa 28:14 Therefore, listen to the LORD’s message, you who mock, you rulers of these people who reside in Jerusalem!
Isa 28:15 For you say, “We have made a treaty with death, with Sheol we have made an agreement. When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, we have hidden ourselves in a deceitful word.”
Isa 28:16 Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD, says: “Look, I am laying a stone in Zion, an approved stone, set in place as a precious cornerstone for the foundation. The one who maintains his faith will not panic.
Isa 28:17 I will make justice the measuring line, fairness the plumb line; hail will sweep away the unreliable refuge, the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.
Isa 28:18 Your treaty with death will be dissolved; your agreement with Sheol will not last. When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by, you will be overrun by it.
Isa 28:19 Whenever it sweeps by, it will overtake you; indeed, every morning it will sweep by, it will come through during the day and the night.” When this announcement is understood, it will cause nothing but terror.
Isa 28:20 For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap around oneself.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD will rise up, as he did at Mount Perazim, he will rouse himself, as he did in the Valley of Gibeon, to accomplish his work, his peculiar work, to perform his task, his strange task.
Isa 28:22 So now, do not mock, or your chains will become heavier! For I have heard a message about decreed destruction, from the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, against the entire land.
Isa 28:23 Pay attention and listen to my message! Be attentive and listen to what I have to say!
Isa 28:24 Does a farmer just keep on plowing at planting time? Does he keep breaking up and harrowing his ground?
Isa 28:25 Once he has leveled its surface, does he not scatter the seed of the caraway plant, sow the seed of the cumin plant, and plant the wheat, barley, and grain in their designated places?
Isa 28:26 His God instructs him; he teaches him the principles of agriculture.
Isa 28:27 Certainly caraway seed is not threshed with a sledge, nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin seed. Certainly caraway seed is beaten with a stick, and cumin seed with a flail.
Isa 28:28 Grain is crushed, though one certainly does not thresh it forever. The wheel of one’s wagon rolls over it, but his horses do not crush it.
Isa 28:29 This also comes from the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, who gives supernatural guidance and imparts great wisdom.

I feel really sorry for you guys. The answer isn’t more people are going to heaven than you thought. The sad thing is it’s even less than you originally thought.

A very biased interview. Not at all truly representing what is taught!

I do not see that at all. Many religious and secular groups make Apostolic Oneness look anemic when it comes to rules.

I do find it silly that these men would never sit down and discuss these things with an actual UPCI pastor. Would be interesting to see them actually debate the real topics, vs the talking points.

So basically two backsliders getting together for a bashing session of Apostolics. Couldn’t listen to much of this before stopping as it just saddens me. My heart goes out to you guys. Not only are you lost but you are leading others astray! Acts 2:38, yoy just going to take that out? And every other passage that supports it?? How about wide is the gate, and broad is the way, MANY go in! Newsflash: Scripture literally tells us more will be lost then will be saved. Read your Bible and please for your own sake stop making fools of yourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts. I understand that our discussion can be upsetting for you, and I respect your passion for your beliefs. The conversation was not intended to bash or demean, but rather to have an open conversation about perspectives and experiences.
Regarding Acts 2:38, we value all scripture and believe in seeking understanding through study and dialogue. We recognize that interpretations can vary, and we aim to approach these differences with respect and humility.
It's clear that you care deeply about your faith and the well-being of others, and that's something we can appreciate. We're all on a journey of faith, and sometimes that means grappling with difficult questions and differing viewpoints.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your input.

Just use their video as a litmus test for your own upc church. Like do you reach out to backsliders? Do you witness to atheists, or just other denominations? Do your Sunday school classes explain oneness doctrine, standards, etc correctly?
Their complaints don’t really describe my church at all
These guys seem to have been alienated, which is the exact opposite of what should have happened. Also the guys wife left because she ‘stayed in’? that’s dysfunctional. If church culture pushes that kind of behavior it’s best to address it. Like that alone shouldn’t justify the need for a divorce.
All that being said, it’s frustrating when certain doctrinal points are labeled as absurd when there’s a perfectly understandable answer out there. Have yet to see where critics get into the weeds and present everything accurately.
