      Yeah, he's just busy doing other projects. Don't assume just because he hasn't done one in a little while, that that somehow means he retired from stand-up. Stand-up is what made his career.

      I'm oh bo yo That literally means he is still doing stand up, but he doesn't want to plan and write any big specials like what. and Make Happy.

      I'm oh bo yo Have you seen his shows? I sincerely doubt he truly quit, but just wants to take a hiatus from it at because of how difficult it is to write and perform his full shows.

    Bo is so Amazing, he really genuinely tries to do everything with sincerity in it.
    I think, when I was at that age.... my life wouldn't be turned into a movie but... still... it felt big and like a movie for me. and he understood that... I don't know. i like how he made the movie and what he aims to strive for in the movie business

    I agree with his point on sounding articulate in middle school. Your communication skills and your writing skills grow so much during your high school and college years. Middle school communication was really just a matter of trial and error and a process of continuously putting yourself out there.

    I envy Bo's ability to focus laser sharp on whatever work he's doing. I have A.D.D and am now experimenting with different medication to 'cure' it, at least the way you cure diabetes. Bo is an inspiration to all functioning brains. May I one day have even a smidgen of his normal brain functions.

    I never even heard of Bo or Elsie before I saw this movie. This movie, this writer/director &, of course, the lead are 3 of the best things I've seen in movies this year. Clearly they all deserve Oscar noms if not the statues themselves. This movie is about being human.

    This movie is great, it felt real, like I was watching real live events that are happening at. the. moment. from kayla's eyes, rather than just watching a huge play or a certain scenario. Funny enough I actually felt like I relate to this more now(I'm an 11th grader in high school) than I could've when I was in eighth grade, Im lonely and I have less friends than I've had back then, so I could understand what she was feeling. Although our school system is very different in the middle East,(uniforms, no freshman or senior, just grades, no graduation parties, school was the size of mini super market, and we we are learning by the British ig system instead of American) I could still relate to and understand her, at least to an extent, because these feelings are real, and just like no said, we are all eighth graders in our own way, no matter how different our lifestyle can be, we can still these emotions of awkwardness and social anxiety and change because we all are flawed humans at the end of the day.hes come so far, I'm proud of bo for creating this, what a godamn roller-coaster

    "i couldn't believe a guy wrote this" what the hell? as a guy, eighth grade was a fucking anxiety inducing and extremely surreal experience for me - that's not a gendered thing.

    • @sierramay5934
      @sierramay5934 5 лет назад +8

      The movie does specifically touch A LOT on the anxiety that specifically young women face, though. So much of what Kayla sees and stresses about in the movie is based on physical appearance. Remember the pool party scene when the mom calls all the girls over for a photo? Those middle school girls were wearing skimpy 2-pieces, pushing out their chests, trying to look “sexy” - it’s super disturbing and you can tell Kayla felt so uncomfortable in her body and wanted to be like them. Meanwhile, the boys still play in the pool, spraying each other with squirt guns and being actual middle schoolers. Girls experience middle school much differently than boys - the fact that Bo was able to tap into that in such a genuine way is incredible to me.
