interesting design, I think that if they used an automatic movement, the effect on the seconds dial would be much more dramatic and fun to stare at
Farren, that's actually a very good point. I would certainly be interested in seeing something like that!
it could be done kind of reminds me of a Orient disk but more technical. however, as it is now it's not for me.
I'm tempted to back the klok-08 because of the steel body and sapphire glass option. If it had an automatic movement, I'd back it immediately. I have the 01 in gray, but I don't wear it because I'm afraid I might scratch it up.
Like you I saw this on KS and didn't know what to think about it. Thanks, as your review helps me grasp what this time piece is about. Have a great holiday, too.
mark, thank you very much. So far, vacation has been fantastic! I need more sunblock...lol. Thanks for checking out the video 😃😃
I know someone that collects sliderules and I know they want to add this to the collection just for the novelty.
I definitely can't picture this on my wrist, but I appreciate the originality.
RMK, thanks for checking out the video Ana keeping an open mind! 👍😉
You have such an ability to find out strange things like this one! great review. cheers.
I'm all about he road least travelled Ana. 😉
Excellent synopsis CG. I am a fan of this type of presentation. I own five of the closed type where one views the time through a slot opening. The Orient has a mechanical movement while the others are quartz. I shouldn't be worried about the actual case however the coating may peel or otherwise come adrift in the future. I consider the price asked steep notwithstanding the novel affixing-to-strap arrangement. Perhaps NEXT Black Friday or eBay!
Thank you Brian. I've always been intrigued by the pieces that tell time through an open ring. I have seen a few vintage pieces with that style and they always get my attention. You have a good point regarding the coating on the case and potentiometer peeling. Appreciate you checking out the video! 😊
Love the looks. I would love s wall or desk clock with this design. Good one CG!
It would be a VERY cool table clock.
Agree!
Unfortunately we are very disappointed after receiving a used and or substandard model from Klokers factory. Klokers refunded us the purchase amount after we returned the watch to them. But refused to cover the expenses for the import Duty and Tax occurred here in Thailand. Then i offered them to purchase an replacement watch if they willing to pay for the import duty and tax for the reorder! Also the communication was very unpleasant and complicated and not standard.
Interesting concept, and I think it would be neat as a pocket watch.
It really is pretty neat and def. makes for a cool pocket watch.
How does it compare to the similar Trifoglio Millimetro?

oh CG how nice -hope your are very happy
Thank you Atul. Heading to vacation with the family. Have a good week my friend!
greetings to all your loved one -eat love and fight
Super sweet dial. Wish it had lugs for regular straps though. It looks bigger (awkward big) bc no lugs.
Maag Maax, I partially agree. While I didn't feel it was too big for me while I was wearing it, I would def. like some lugs, maybe hidden style a bit like the Seiko Tuna.
Very unique a conversation starter for sure
That's for sure Mark!
Very different and that is what makes it so intriguing! It is quite large and would be complimented as a pocket watch also. Great Vid and time piece!👍👍BTW quartz is fine. People get to jazzed about that sometimes. That's just me.
You're so right Scott, people do get jazzed up about Quartz. It does have some good pocket watch dimensions.
Interesting watch for sure, can't say I would buy one but I appreciate the unique design. If they could lume up the glass where the current hour/minute/seconds are displayed it could look very sexy in the dark.
Thank you Peter. I think the lume is a great idea. Like you, I appreciate the different design. It can't be easy to think outside the box.
I dig it. Would make an awesome wall clock
It would Def. Make a cool wall clock.
Mine got broken after 6 months. I had to sent it back to France. It took them 3 months to realize that they cannot repair it. Finally they sent me back a new one. Very disappointed in the quality and client service at Klokers.
The fake steel reminds me of toys for playing doctor, the blood pressure meter or something.
Endrikh Darkvine, I can certainly understand that!
Very interesting piece, it would definitely take you some getting use to to say the least but, overall I like it.
It does take a bit to get use to, but certainly a fun wear.
Interesting for sure but for me, interesting like tattoo's, kilts & Breitling Navitimers. Fine on other people, a good conversation starter and they sure make the world more interesting. For me it's, too big, too tall on the wrist, too busy (that dial would give me a headache) and the seconds disc would drive me nuts. Good on them for getting it launched and into production!
MountMan , thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can certainly understand where you're coming from! I appreciate you checking out the video. 🙏😊
That is pretty darn cool!
Agree Dutch!
This is a really cool piece.
I agree, it's nice to find something that is off the beaten path.
very interesting piece cg..
great video as always..
"j" recommended I pick ur brains on some micro brands..I think I got bit by thr bug..lol
best,
jc
fldiver, thanks! Getting bit by the bug is a blessing and curse. Lol. You can pick my brain about micro brands anytime 😉
good and fair review, as always CG. But definitely not for me. it reminds me too much the kitchen timer....sorry.
Thank you Valerio! I can certainly understand it reminding you of an instrument. It is a bit different.
How does it feel holding it? Honestly, it looks cheap on video. The plating and the dial moving after you pushed the crown down doesnt exactly make it look any better.
Good review by the way.
free, it actually feels fun to hold and very much a novelty. I spent a lot of time holding it and playing with the connecting mechanism. It is as light as it looks and some may not love that. Thank you for checking it out!
Can we get a review of the KLOK-08?
While the way it attaches to it's strap is cool, as you say it does limit you to a proprietary system. And I would have to agree with you about the case material, stainless steel seems perfectly fine (and tried and true) - perhaps they should've gone with it. Other than those points though, it's a cool idea of a watch. Cheers, John
Thank you John. I would like to have seen it in steel for sure. Perhaps a future version will have this. I am conflicted with the band, because I think the locking mechanism is cool, but I like to have options as well.
I can't get past the plastic and quartz. If this were a hand wind mechanical built with quality components and a conventional bracelet/band I would be on board. I do agree that it would make a very cool clock.
Chas, I agree regarding the materials. I don't know how it would hold up long term, but using more conventional materials certainly seems as though it would have been doable.
The watch is unique and an eye-catcher but that works as long as you don't mind paying a few hundred bucks for a throw away gadget. Be aware these watches are not made for repairs. Despite the marketing language it contains a cheap standard $10 quartz movement Ronda 763 with modified motor stator to rotate counterclockwise. Only the Klok-02 has a more complicated movement. If the watch will have movement issues there's not much you will be able to do and even your local repairman will be hopeless. These watches are very expensive and not made for repairs as you can't really open the case to get to the discs. A risky attempt might be tried to insert a thin knife in between the top metal case ring and the bottom part (less the steel strap fitting) but you will be gobsmacked to learn that the back of the watch is made of chromed plastic that will wear off in a few years time. These two case parts are sealed shut with glue and while prying them apart the risk of breaking is very high. This is not what I would expect from such an expensive watch. You will need to throw it away as it is not designed for repairs and sending it for repairs will be too costly. The band fitting is also known to rattle on some straps which will be annoying.
I think it's pretty cool.
Thank you 😉
Different but still cool
Thanks Chris. 😁
Definitely a different way of telling time which is really cool. But really not a fan of the looks, but each to their own and it's definitely unique and I cant' argue with that!
Unique indeed James! I kind of dig it, although I do prefer the Klok-02.
Cool concept but too big for me. Nice review, as usual.
Thank you Scott. 😁
22 month's!
LOL! that's how old my twins were when I got the prints tattooed 😜
Interesting 🤓
LOL! Oh I know what that means 😜
Hi CG. Seems this piece brings mixed emotions in the comments. Mixed for me too. But can,'t say it's not interesting. I'd get one if it was 40mm but 44 is too big for my taste. Interesting vid thanks.
Oz, it does indeed have mixed emotions. I think it's expected anytime a brand breaks from the conventional. We often want something different, but aren't sure exactly what we are looking for. Brands pushing the limit help us find something a little quirky that we can live with. That almost always means it won't be for the masses, which is something I like 😉. Thanks for checking out the video!
Yes, thoughtful insights. I think you are correct in this observation.
Eso duele!!
Jorge Rosas 😂😂
Great vid and enjoyed, but that watch no thanks....
Thank you AH. 😉☺️
I like the idea of three rings but I am somewhat disappointed with the end result.
There is no reason to stick to a 12h scale in a watch as unconventional as this. 24h outer hour ring + rotating bezel with city names would be much more functional. There are existing world time watches that work exactly this way, Orient Adventurer being one example.
I am not a big fan of the design and materials. I would much more prefer a conventional quality stainless steel case and a strap/bracelet.
This is some good feedback. I agree that this style of layout has several options and future potential. Who knows what they may have in plan for the future. Maybe this was the closest design to their idea? Or perhaps limitations in the movements options they could modify to accommodate the disks? All interesting questions. I appreciate you checking out the video and sharing your thoughts.
This would be a relatively simple change, at least in comparison to their next idea (KLOK-02) which requires a retrograde movement.
Anyway, I don't think I would be tempted to spend 400 Euro on this watch.
John Green I can certainly understand that. I do love the Klok-02. Felt great on the wrist as well.
Interesting, unusual and very unconventional.
I wish them luck. NOT!
I see you're feeling particularly sweet today. 😉
Sigh.. another lame garbage 'watch' on the market.. just what we need...
Nice! I dig the design but that case size is a bit much. Also, it makes me wonder how easy or difficult it would be for them to modify an affordable Miyota movement for such a watch.
James, modifying a miyota would be a practical choice. Having said that, They may have worked with a their party for the modifications versus doing it themselves and that may have played a part in movement options.
