Lizzie, you did a really great job designing this! While watching you make this, I couldn’t help thinking that if you adjusted the size so that it could hold a 6” x 6” square salad dish (or 2, stacked) and a bit wider, the other way, you could use pretty fold over elastic on the other side to make a loop(s) to hold a thermos or a drink bottle or two; this would make an awesome lunch box with a fold down placemat, and room for utensils and napkin [US for serviette] , etc. , don’t you think? Maybe a couple little side flaps to secure and a few more snaps. Before the pandemic, I had been planning to design a lunch bag with some kind of placemat to go with it and this would be perfect. Especially, if eating in the car, the place mat would protect your clothes. If we ever get to go out again! Well done! Can’t believe I missed this last year! And, I’ll have to check the size, but I have a little plastic cutting board, my sister got me, that might just fit inside that slot. So if you have a sharp knife with a plastic sleeve, you could slice cheese or fruit of something, too. And it would help stabilize the bottom.
I see from a few of the comments that this pattern was being Rewritten. I would like to make several for Christmas gifts. Where can I get this pattern? Made 4 of these for my adult children for Christmas. I enjoyed the pattern and choosing fabrics to match their personalities. Thank you again for your wonderful video, it made making these less stressful
The instructions say I need 2 fat quarters. After cutting out my pockets and front panel I don’t have enough fabric for the the box sides. Am I cutting wrong?
