People forget just how successful this band was at one time . Back when hard work , and endless touring accomplished something . R.I.P. Ruby . . . We miss you .

Tommy Aldridge great drummer. I don’t think he gets enough credit for how good he is but anyways great reaction brother. Have a great day.

I have a growing appreciation for drumming since joining this channel ... never too old to learn. That was fun.

Saw Tommy with Pat Travers Band open for BÖC in the way back. After Crash & Burn came out (Pat Travers Band). He became one of my favorite drummers.

Lee, Tommy Aldridge is a beast.
Black Oak Arkansas was a southern rock band. The song is called Up. Check it out on their live album. Raunch 'n' Roll Live. It also has an Aldeidge drum on it, just not as long. You just seen the end of the song. It's a great high energy song. As Jim Dandy says before it, We're gonna take you so far up, it's gonna take you all night to unwind.
    Other standouts on the album.
    Mutants Of The Monster
    Hot & Nasty
    When Electricity Came To Arkansas.
    Hot Rod
But a it would be great to hear some Pat Travers Band with Tommy.
Check out Snortin' Whiskey or Crash & Burn.

Maybe my all time favorite band name as well as musicians. Shawn Lane on guitar is one of my favorites ( RIP )

My brain's still processing that 53 years later! Strangely, the first album I bought with my own money (not a gift) when I was 12. Down in the Missouri Ozarks. It was like the KISS stage show of southern rock, or something like that. Tommy's work with Whitesnake and Yngwie Malmsteen was top rate tight.

Saw Black Oak Arkansas in the 70's at the Philadelphia Spectrum. They were the 2nd band out of a 3 band concert. Can't remember who the other bands were. Just remember "Jim Dandy to the Rescue!"

There's a great story about Tommy having to sneak away in the middle of the night when he left the band. Mangrum had a tight band and didn't want to lose any members. I saw Aldridge with BOA and with Pat Travers.

This is one of the first five drummers whose name I ever looked into at 10 or so. Also accidently saw him with Black Oak in Charlotte in 76 at 14.

But it was a good show over all: over 100 degrees full sun in a stadium. The Memphis fire dept were spraying crowds to avoid sun stroke The stones didn't take the stage until near sundown. And the stones got busted driving across Arkansas that night. Let go in the morning with a warning not come back to whatever little town it was.

Jim Dandy taught David lee Roth how to Dance! "Hot&Nasty!" Each band had it's own sound the worst thing to happen would be to be compared to? You Sound Like?

This!!! Similar solo but accompanied by a ripping song. One of the few songs I overplayed in the 80’s that I still listen to on occasion.

I'm sorry, I am from Arkansas. I had cousins that went nuts over Black Oak. I never did; something about the lead singers voice that annoyed me. I did see them as part of an all-day concert in Memphis staring the Stones in the mid 70s, but I don't remember one song they did.

    Tommy hated this band.
Contractually he was stuck in that band for 6 years.
He had to hideout in Chicago in order to eventually get out of the contract.
