I just sold my Rotomolded cooler - it was just too big and bulky (and heavy -16lbs). This is like the perfect cooler for the compass and is only 7 lbs. It looks really clean and the fit is perfect. It’s almost like it was made for the compass. Enough cooling effect for my purposes, which is typically day trips. So sending my thanks to you for sharing this idea! I’m really glad you posted this.
DE_Hoosier thanks for watching I actually did I used 60lb fishing braid and 2 stainless steel screws on one side of the lid and inside of cooler I mounted them so That it doesn’t fall back works great now gives support for The hinges gives it longevity gonna make the hinges last longer

it will! I use mine for a lunch box (little large size for a "lunch box" but I work construction and need to have a fair amount of drinks and food for a long day) I also use it when kayaking, it is a good size for that and floats/keeps water out if it falls off or you dump the kayak. I have a yeti soft cooler ,flip 8 I think, and it is an even better dry box for kayaking ,it fits behind my seat or in my hatch but its a bit small, I use that one for my phone and snacks that I dont want to be cold then the engle holds all my cold stuff, drinks sandwhiches ect, definitely do not need two but I made the mistke of buying the smaller capacity yeti first then got the engle, so why not!!
doesnt look like you have ever actually used your kayak or the old crate lol everything looks brand new! my kayak is tore the hell up from many many trips
