  • We just beat a good storm with 50 knot winds into Bay of Islands, and take shelter in Wood's Island Harbour and then dock at Bay of Islands Yacht Club. We explore Corner Brook and do some re-provisioning before sailing up to Goose Arm to anchor and do some hiking & swmming. From our final anchorage for this season at Lark Harbour we set out to walk to Little Port to see their famous orange dories. Jayne models her nice orange life jacket!
We would haul-out and over winter our Niagara 35 sloop Phantasia with the friendly assistance at the Bay of Islands Yacht Club.
Part 2 coming up covers sailing up and around the top of Newfoundland then down the east coast to Lewisporte.

At 6:57 if you look behind the camera, up over the hill you will see my family's cabin in Goose Arm❤My mom is from Lark Harbour and I spent a lot of time there. I lived on the Northshore. Glad you were able to visit and see these beautiful spots in the Bay of Islands that I call home!

This place is on my bucket list. Summertime I'm quite sure it's awesome. Wintertime? Too cold for me.

Great video. You have inspired me to sail there. Great scenery and unspoiled cruising ground. I have looked,at the bay of islands club as a,possible winter layover. Our draft is 5'10". Do you think that is possible for hauling out there. Corner brook looks like a great place to spend time getting ready. Will be watching the next installment. Fair winds

Thanks! We loved BOI, our Niagara was 5’3” draft, contact them about 5’10” draft. We built a wooden storage cradle, maybe they have jack stands rental now? Beautiful, amazing sailing there, Goose Arm is one not to miss. Corner Brook has everything you need too.

Yeah definitely. We were planning to go south last year, but with border closures and uncertainties we were think of going to explore Atlantic Canada. Are you there for just this season or long term?

@@magdakaniewski We are planning to cross to the Azores and then EU but I don’t think we can do that this season so we’ll try and get to our boat by June and sail Notre Dame Bay if possible, depart Azores in 22?
