Building a 3D printed Full Scale T-800 Terminator Endoskeleton - Episode 5 [Updated]

  • I am 3D printing and building my very own collectible T-800 terminator endoskeleton in full size. This is a model from the Terminator 2 - Judgement Day movie where the robot was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is properly the largest 3d printing project I have ever done so I’m really excited about how it’s going to turn out.
    Welcome to Hobby World - A place of imagination and creativity
    Due to the massive size of the project I have decided to share the project as several episodes here on youtube. I have added links for the previous episodes below.
    Episode 1: • Building a 3D Printed ...
    Episode 2: • Building a 3D printed ...
    Episode 3: • Building a 3D printed ...
    Episode 4: • Building a 3D printed ...
    I'm doing my very best to upload a new episode each 2 weeks so please stick around and follow this epic project :)
    In this episode:
    The project is almost finished. In this episode I'm making the Phased Plasma Rifle (in the 40W range). This is the t-800's primary weapon.
    During this video I'm 3D printing, assembling the gun, making a bit of LED light in the gun, attaching it to the endoskeleton and finaly painting it up. Busy couple of weeks :)
    As I have never done a project of this size there is a lot of stuff I need to figure out as I work with the build. This is also my first real project video series here on RUclips so I hope you all like it. And please don’t judge me too hard for all of the beginner’s mistakes :) I have learned a lot making this video, and I'm doing my very best to improve each time I post a new video.
    Please Like & Subscribe if you enjoyed the video, and please post a comment if you have any feedback or questions, all feedback is much appreciated.
    Thanks for watching

    Sand down the tip of the LEDs this will give a more difus light and this is better for back light. And you have done some fantastic work.

You are an inspiration to all t-800 die-hard fans. I hope to get into 3d printing soon. How about adding some (intermittent) flashing lights while playing the battle sound in the background, it should perfectly reflect on the chrome finish.

    I always think the gun looks too big for the skeleton, especially when held in one hand, a smaller gun would look more proportionate. or perhaps one gun in each arm like is offered on the sideshow version. BUT a very good print

    • @HobbyWorld_one
      @HobbyWorld_one  3 года назад

      I agree. The gun I have made for this model is even around 15% to short compared to specifications I found on a fan page. It just looked way to large (and it was also too heavy as the models arm is a weak link). But I personally do like the endoskeleton with just one gun, especially in this pose where it is turning a bit and looking in another direction than the gun is pointing. And thanks for your comment, really glad that you like the build :)

      @HobbyWorld_one  3 года назад +1

      Thank you so much, it really means a lot comming from you :). If I should do the endoskeleton again I would use a better setting, its well worth the extra print time. There are parts that can be printed at lower resolution but after doing this project I'm convinced that all visible parts should be printed at fine settings.

      I have created an unique and fantastic model using your 3D model, I have linked to your thingiverse profile in all my videos and each time anyone has asked me where I have the files from I have refered them to you and your thingiverse profile. So please don't say that I don't give you credit for your work, this is simply not true...
      In my very first video I mentioned you by name (and dedicate time to tell about your model on thingiverse), I have tried to do everything right and honor you as a creator and yet you decide to attack me publicly like this. First on facebook (with a rather rude message) and now here on my youtube channel. After your message on facebook I replied to you but you never gave me a answer.
      I'm a regular supporter of several 3d model patreons and have always done my very best to support creators in all ways possible, If I see a model I like, I gladly pay the designer. I have always done my very best to promote the creators.
      I can see on your thingiverse page that someone has stolen your 3D model and posted as their own. I can completly understand why that is frustrating. But don't take that out on me, I have only used your model with the best of intentions, and as far as I can see completly within the guidelines. And I have never in ill intention choosen not to do so.
      I would suggest that you try being a bit more polite another time. This matter could easily have been settled in private. I have never done anything to you, I have only advertised and promoted your 3D model.
      May I suggest that we finish this conversation in private so we can find some common ground and move on (on good terms) :)
      Best Regards
      Kim Kristensen
