I'm a major fan of Akira Yamaoka, and when I heard he was doing the score to the first Silent Hill movie, I was ridiculously happy. I mean, unlike many games, the music in Silent Hill is no doubt a part, and a significant factor in what makes it Silent Hill. No one could authentically emulate what Akira does. Also, I didn't want to lean towards Akira's style with this track. I just wanted to give it my own touch :D

Growing up I was always into horror and gory things and was more mature for my age and never really got scared easily but this is one of my favorite horror series because it mixes physical and psychological horror so well and no can't get enough.

Yeah, there was something special about Silent Hill that did something other things horror didn't do.
I love it. It's so well done! I like the fact that you kept the overall tone deep. Without reading a title people can hear 'Silent Hill' and still enjoy a fresh twist, which to me, symbolizes a great remix.

Too many memories came flooding back. I think you did SH justice with this. And to think that, as the years go by, we'll have less and less people who will experience SH first hand. Those of us who have are now old and skilled enough to contribute back to the fandom, so I think this is a fitting final tribute to something that we all had in common. Just a weird thought that popped up at 1:30 in the morning for me.
This remix just popped into my head after several years and I had to find it again. Lucky me, now I have it on my Spotify playlist!

I remember listening to this on my grandpa phone. This song was so amazing and the fact that I played this game with my brother change so much of my life. So glad I found it again :) thank you for making this, it means a lot to go back to this and remember those times.
To be fair.... this was an incredible bit of music in the first place. What you've done has only added to that. You need more recognition. Damn fine piece of work.

I have a revelation of what, not of whom, exactly Pyramid Head is... he is both a punisher and punished himself of sin. God warns us to judge not lest we be judged first ...this guy ignored God and judged man so in his death God placed an iron maiden upon his brow for justice is blind and gave him an oversized clever for the weight of justice is heavy...this man still wanders the afterlife swinging blindly at wicked souls barely able to lift his arm... how do I know this ? Perhaps Silent Hill is only fictious by its name alone...
thing is the story from the games and movies is slightly different... consider the fact that in the movie they say Pyramid Head is Alessa's bodygaurd...? How is that when anyone familiar with the games knows those two never were even in the same game together. The game itself is extrodinarily vague leaving players to interpret events for themselves. One popular theory is that Pyramid Head is Jame's guilt manifested into physical form but that still doesn't explain who Pyramid Head is or where he came from...
Dustin Strand another thing is that theory wouldn't make sense because Pyramid Head also appears to Alex and Travis. So Pyramid Head isn't exclusive to James. Pyramid Head seems to appear when innocents are killed . James killed his sick wife (SH2), Alex accidentally drowns his little brother (Homecoming) and Travis is a schizophrenic serial killer unaware of his own actions (Origins). All of this supports MY theory which was my original post here.

interesting theory for sure. except for PH isnt dead. Silent Hill isnt the Underworld, it's Limbo and PH is apart of the Darkness that periodically falls on the Limbo to punish those who meddle with the town. Or just for fun.
Man, over a decade later and i still think about you on occasion. You were a large part of my taste in music as of now and i played hours of multiple of these songs back to back whether i be cleaning something or heading to school on the bus in middle school.
Wildy enough i think i was introduced to this channel through a guy named eFooly who used to do modded borderlands content back in the day. Just hearing this really brings me down memory lane and im so thankful these are still up and easily accessible

I really like the Silent Hill movie! It captured the atmosphere (which, let's be honest, is all the games have) and wasn't aggressively stupid like the Resident Evil movies. Also, Radha Mitchell. (Radha radha radha.)
ILoooooveCamels The Resident Evil movies were the shittiest movie adaptations I've ever seen... they disappointed me the best they could :D But Silent Hill isn't a good adaptation either, even if it is the best game-based-movie out there! It was ok. The EFX were good, but the whole story fucked the ones in the games totally up. The only way I can enjoy them is to imagine that the stories play in a different universe... Do you know what I mean?

Well, tbh with you, the Executioner had no place in the movie, really, other than "wow, look at these cool 3d effects and this badass fight against a badass monster" while in Silent Hill the Pyramid Head DID have some purpose. Obviously the movie didn't really tell that much about it due to obvious reasons like time limit, but it's not like the Pyramid Head was added just so there could be a fight or something. He did come to punish the people, didn't he?

No, I think I should be thanking you (and vsauce2 for featuring it, ofc) for making something so ~flawless~. I don't use that word easily, only for the top 1%, but this remix def. deserves it. There're so many components of this remix and this video that are done so incredibly right it's mind boggling. It's the cream of the crop of SH videos, IMO.
