I was only allowed to watch 5 minutes of tv a day when I was little. This was always a treat. We watched this in the front room, on a Sunday afternoon while we toasted crumpets on the fire and covered them in loads of butter. The first story was my fave. Core memory unlocked. 💜☮️✌️

@@SensiProductionzBlindDogVideos they are a small round bread with a sponge texture inside and hard top. Effectively bread and butter for dinner. Definitely not a rich persons treat. You can buy 6 in a pack for 45p in the supermarkets. Things were tight growing up in the 80s as my mum was bringing 3 of us up on her own.😅 And everyone drinks tea here. It’s not a posh thing to do. Although, I think coffee has become more popular now.

Like The dark crystal, or labrynth, Its how they move and can make there eyes go wide that used to freak me out. Even a little fraggle rock, and a touch of mr rogers even when i was really small. Devil puppets!! lmao

The cook from the story, (a short story) lived in the village next to me, Bryan Pringle, 'Yardly Hastings' in Northampton. I used to see him waiting for the bus and new he was an actor but could never remember wot he was in or his name. .

This is wonderful!!! I never knew of this when it was on TV. I was a young adult in the prime of life, having fun and no time for television. Now to find it as an old man retired I can enjoy watching it completely from beginning to end. Thank you.
The moral of the 1st story is that perhaps if the farmer's wife had spent less time bitching, the farmer would have spent more time with her, rather than the sheep. Also that if you have a half hedgehog baby, do not despair, he could still be the lead singer for Twisted Sister.

As a Kid I loved how creepy and at times scary this was for me. The endings were always good and heartwarming . Always gave me a sense of wonder . The way they Used Chiaroscuro like a Baroque painting with the limited technology . The Medieval Fairy Tale settings. Such a Masterpiece, timeless ! .
I would not miss an episode of this series any time they would play it as I was growing up in Cuba. Beautifully creepy stories and amazing narrations ❤❤

I love all things Jim Henson, Dark Crystal blew my mind and is still one of my favorite films.
Im 50 yrs old...i just busted out my dvd of the Dark Crystal....they cant match the master craftsman like this nowdays,RIP Jim Henson
