- This tutorial is made with the intention to cater the Malaysian demographic. Hence, the centimeter (cm) unit, as we are based in Malaysia. You may need to convert to other measurement units, depending on your region. Hope this video will help you before purchasing either via online or retail stores.

- A tape/paper strip (not more than 1cm wide)

Measure it from the knuckle center and reduce it downward. Or else you will fall a victim like myself.

Actually, the 2 ring size columns (Asian and US) are poorly explained. I always thought a centimeter was a centimeter no matter where it lived. So why then 2 vastly different choices in ring size?

Hi, this is usually because of either one of this 1) you didn't wrap tightly as stated. 2) your finger is really big. You could google for ring size chart, most of them goes to 6.7cm - 7.0cm as this is usually the maximum for normal sizes. But before that, try wrapping it tightly, as long as the paper strip doesn't break. In case your size are above common sizes, you'd need to do a special order for it, jewelers will custom made the size to your suit.

Hey. Something that I couldn't understand in the explanation. When you say that the paper should overlap. Do you mean that we mark where that paper meet the location where we started placing the paper? Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

When I can do it, I’ll probably go to the shop and get a professional to do it, or buy a ring measurer. Not had the chance to look more into this due to money and uni.

Hi, I understand why you'd feel that way but the truth is the way the paper feels to your finger is different from the real ring, especially when the paper strip is wide, you'd feel tight easily, so don't worry about tight paper wrap.
My fiance has the same ring size as me, measuring 6cm. He has tried on a 8 US ring and it's too big. So if he is (measured with paper and then put to a ruler, 6cm). How could he fit a US size 9 (according to chart)?

Our hands may not be the same but I also measured at a 6.4 and I got a size 23 which is 6.46 and it fit fine
