I like this garen tip because it's less about mathematically correct and more about obscure knowledge in how his kit specifically works to inform you buying decisions in game.

No you cannot. Amongst the ones that beat you lv1: Kayle, Yone, Morde, W volibear, Darius, Jax, Fiora, Olaf, WW, Sett, Shen, Udyr. The list is probably longer
you wont land his E total dmg withtout the Q silence + move speed bonus. Youre just getting kited and probably die to any champion that takes lethal tempo

If i remembered correctly, Garen E just simply doesnt benefit from legend alacrity. Its not that tenacity is so much better since garen has some sort of built in tenacity anyways. Odd that a “chall garen otp” doesn’t realize what we’re talking about is damage breakpoints. The attack speed items you grab have AD anyways, no one is saying to not buy AD at all. This is a guide to timing your components and levels so you hit each 25% AS breakpoint when you grab items. The same amount of gold to reach a breakpoint, if used on attack damage only instead, will do a lot less damage. One extra spins gets you 50% your AD plus 25 damage. For example, you’d have to buy 45.75 AD to outpace the damage getting boots would get you together from spiking 6. The preference to attack speed first only gets stronger as you get more AD. If at 200 AD, you have a choice between a dagger that hits an attack speed breakpoint or getting more than 100 AD to match it, I’m picking up that dagger than that longsword lol. Also since Garen starts you with 7 spins, the damage jumps by 140+35% by maxing E. Thinking a 120 base damage jump is better early is wild. Especially since E is great from wave pressure too. I guess they’ll let anybody be challenger these days. Garen’s a pretty simple champ, it’s wild to not know this.

They should round up the amount of spins, but make the last spin do reduced damage based on your progress towards the next spin (for example, if you have 112.5% bonus AS, you get +5 spins, but the last one deals half damage, and will only do full damage once you get 125% bonus AS). This way every point of attack speed contributes, avoiding this weird powerspike mechanic where you have to check your AS to see if buying is good or worthless
Can you make some updates about this information? It seems. at the moment I cannot have 1 E bonus for 25% AS. It's been nerfed a bit and right now I need 30% AS for each bonus E. Can you help me confirm this information? I had to buy 60% AS for 2 bonus E, but when I revert it to 50%. It becomes 1 bonus E.
@@tankenjoyer1891Nope the AS is still better. The rune only gives 5.4 AD whereas the other gives 0.1 attacks per second. Even at Garen’s base AD, that’s 6.9 more dps vs 3.3. Even when you reach 100% AS level 6 it still can’t compete. Scales better too. AS has always been a good CS and tower taking rune over AD

I know i should buy berserkers greaves on Garen, but never fully understood why is that such a massive powerspike considering Garen isn't Yone or Yasuo whose whole kit relies on getting faster Qs(faster W too in yone case) since Steelcaps or mercs is just so vital for a bruiser. You might find it unnecessary, but i find it interesting
Here's a tip, stand near the target you want to do the most damage to. Doing so makes his E deal bonus damage. The more you know.
